As I said,
::Gwen said calmly::
Diskretion was needed. If the truth had been revealed earlier who's to say what attempts may have been made on dear Iole's life before we even made it this far.

"Count, no need to apologize. You threw a most delightful party. The entertainment was simply riveting." August spoke directly and with a slight cheer in his voice - as if the wine had begun to get to him. "And before it slips my mind, please notify Tricuetical with your decision when you're ready. We can begin investments the moment you wish." He bowed, slightly. "Till then, we will keep in touch."
Shortly after leaving the party, August was back in the streets of Doma. Shifting and lurking, like a snake, through the alleys and shadows. He could smell the smoke and burn of the Inn lingering in the air. The smell was like a delightful fragrance. The night was waning, but he still had so much to do. He strolled off to his new room at a dingy little inn a few streets from the former. Inside, he threw off his coat in a dancing spin, it landing on the bed. He popped his bowtie off and flung it to the other side of the room. He danced over to the closet, unbuttoning the shirt. He flung the doors open, pushed the clothes on the hangers to one side - the faint outline of two creatures pinned to the back walls of the dark little room are viable in the low light of the room - and grabbed a more comfortable shirt from the closet. He slammed it shut to the protest of groans.
From the nightstand, he plucks up a little sat-phone and punches in a few numbers and puts the device next to his ear.
"It's done... hands moved early but we're still on track... unconfirmed, still looking into it... Kamikazi and Wutai agents... it hasn't arrived yet, still night here in Doma. Perhaps in the morning... understood... Please, what do you take me for, I'm insulted... Certainly, anything for the New Vector. Taa."

Alicia: Well Lord Sigimund, this has been a most entertaining evening, but I believe it's time me and my company returned to Lindblum. Regardless of the events that has just happened, Lindblum will still recognize you as the rightful ruler of Doma, not that terrorist Iole."

::Suddenly, all of the Count's attention was on her::
Oh won't you stay? It would do me great honor to have you as a guest in my castle. Please allow me to make up for this rather blunderous end of our festivities. I'll have a room prepared for you. Perhaps we may discuss further arrangements to capture our mutual albatross. I'll even have Kamikaze show your sister and her young escort the sights of the city. You may trust him as I do, for I have as much faith in him as I do my right arm. He is a man of honor.
::Alicia couldn't help but clench her fist at that remark and hissed under her breath::
Alicia: Yeah, I never liked that about him.
::She turned her eyes back to him::
Alicia: You're simply too kind my Lord. With an offer so generous, how can a simple lady refuse? I'll discuss it with my sister first if you don't mind.
Yes of course.

::She turns and walks out of the throne room and head straight towards the others::
Aizen: Judging from the commotion I heard, I think the heroes have escaped.
Alicia: Indeed.
Yami: So, when are we leaving?
Alicia: That's what I'm here to talk about. Seems Sigimund wants us to stay for awhile while me and him negotiate the capture of a mutual acquaintance of ours. Yami, you, Aizen & Melanie will have free reign to explore the city, under the condition that one of his men escort you, someone you three know. The choice is up to you all.
Aizen: Master never did say when he wanted us to be back. I say we take this time to relax.
Yami: I have to agree with Aizen sissy. The only other time I've ever been out of the palace is when we went to Lindblum. And I have been feeling abit cooped up.
Alicia: Two for staying. Including me, that's 2 to 1. Your call Melanie, staying or going?

::Melanie just folded her arms::
Melanie: As if I have a choice. But I will be sending a report back to the boss.
Alicia: Suit yourself. Oh Kamikaze, we're ready to be shown to our room now.
::As stoically as ever, Kamikaze wafted in and gestured for them to follow him. In no time at all, he had the four led to one of the most opulent chambers in the castle::
Kamikaze: This room once belonged to the Duchess. The Count thought it would be the most to your liking.
Alicia: Oh yes, this will do nicely. Now then, how about you go and get us something to eat. Yami here would enjoy some sweet cakes. Melanie? Aizen?
Melanie & Aizen: Not hungry.
::Yami folded her arms indignantly::
Yami: I'm not a little girl anymore Sissy. I don't need sweets seven times a day.
Alicia: True, but I still love watching you eat them sweetie.
::She ruffled Yami's white blond hair much to her irritation::
Alicia: And I think I'll have some pulled sweet pork on rye.
Kamikaze: ...But you don't--
Alicia: I said I would like some pulled sweet pork on rye.
::The demoness simply stared back at him until he gave in, obligated to fulfill his role as servant::
Melanie: You're being a little harsh don't you think?
Alicia: Demon.

Alicia: That reminds me. ::She snaps her fingers and a small crystal orb appears out of nowhere. It glows until a visage is seen::
Fox: Ah Astaroth, we were wondering when we would hear from you.
Alicia: Fox, seems you finished your investigation of the ruins. I need to talk to Nu.
"I'm here Astaroth." Nu replied as the view changed to their master. "Anything to report?"
Alicia: I have confirmed this Dracul Vladimir Sigimund is indeed the same person you told me about.
"And the purpose of the celebration?"
Alicia: Seems the lord is after the vacant throne of Doma. He needed three signatures in order to make it official.
"And I take it you signed on behalf of Lindblum correct?
Alicia: I had to in order to keep my cover, and I did give him a convincing cover story for that alliance. And you were right, the heroes were indeed here, the Cetra included.
"And did he still have the stones?"
Alicia: Negative, I guess he has that blasted tiger of his watching over them.
"Who was there?"
Alicia: Besides the Cetra, that urchin Iole and Oliver, the Witch of Webs and our mercenary friend, the dear captain Vincent Kumi and who I think is one of his crew. And there was another, but I do not recognize him, though he was elf-like.
"Freyan." Nu muttered to himself. "Is that all?"
Alicia: No, there was two more, the Phoenix Knight and his wife, the Witch of Storms. They were all I saw. ::She hears human screaming in the background:: What was that?
"Two of our latest test subjects trying a new serum. And I suppose the reason you're calling is because you'll be staying in Doma for awhile?"
Alicia: Affirmative.
"Well, enjoy yourselves then. Ta-ta."
::The orb then stopped glowing as she tossed it into the air and it vanished.::

::Yami got up from her spot on the bed::
Yami: I'm going for a walk. Aizen, want to come with?
Aizen: Sure.
::Melanie could almost see little animated hearts floating around Astaroth's head as she transformed back into her true blue self, gushing over the pair all the while::
Astaroth: They are sooooo cute together!
Melanie: Look, I know you said we'd stay to maintain our cover, but I can't help but feel you have a different saying.
::Astaroth suddenly grew uncharacteristically silent::
Melanie: Listen, I care about those little brats almost as much as you do. Sure I don't start foaming at the mouth whenever Yami swallows a cupcake but... well you get my point. On the surface you seem to be following the Boss' orders like any summoned demon would. But ever since you came back from Lindblum you've been acting on your own more and more. You're obsessed. I just want to know, what's your hang-up on Iole?
::Astaroth took a moment to answer. Whether it was from gathering her thoughts or out of hesitation Melanie wasn't sure::
Astaroth: You know, back in Lindblum I learned something about myself. That I am still a demon. One that is bound to my master's whims. But in spite of that, there is still a part of me that grew for Yami. One that's willing to do anything, even turn against Lord Nu for her sake. I don't know which one is stronger, but I don't intend to find out. So I'm trying to stop the two from clashing again.
Melanie: And getting rid of Iole solves that how?
Astaroth: Iole's DNA is inside of her. It's what gives her those shapeshifting powers. I can't say whether it's genetic survival instinct, or her own desire to prove herself, but something drives Yami to make sure that there is only one of them. And until the Witch's Brat is dead, Yami won't stop trying to fight her, and Lord Nu doesn't have any intention of stopping her. They've clashed once and that nearly killed her. And the pretentious little urchin has only grown more ruthless in the time that's past. I don't intend to risk a round two between the two of them. And for that reason, I'll have Iole Blakeney and anyone loyal to her on the chopping block.

~Meanwhile, somewhere escaping from the city~
"So... ye'a B'ueblood?" Oliver asked, mostly at himself, trying to sort this whole revelation together in such a fashion where he could best understand it without freaking completely out. In the heat of the moment, he didn't have time to process everything he had heard, only his protective instinct kicked in but now that they were safe - for now - it all started flooding back. "An' ya never t'ought to tell me t'at 'ittle bit about yeself? T'is ain't somet'ing like an evil ex or somet'ing, ye a bloody royal!?" He sighed, keeping pace with the others but still sorting out this bit of news. "I dunno if I s'ould feel dirty about t'at or ecstatic! Argh!" He screamed in his throat. "T'is is all so conf'icting. I can a'ready picture Sid mocking me... Is t'ere any more surprises ye got tucked away in t'ere I s'ould be aware of?"
"Oliver, settle down. You're making Nahla nervous with all that flailing about and ranting." Vincent cut in, shooting him a stern glance. "Uh, Captain - I'm, fine with it." Nahla retorted; Vincent gave her a coarse stare.

::Iole fumed through her nose::
Oh yeah I was totally planning on telling you right after I figured out how I was going to take over the rest of the world. Ollie I never told you I was some kind of princess because I didn't even know! How could I? I mean, do I really look the part?
::She gestured to her now cpstume which now had a long tear running the permiter of its skirt, and her hair which had fallen from its style, with her hairclip keeping it from hanging wildly in her face. Stefan kept a torch aloft to light their way as they neared the end of the tunnel::
Stefan: I certainly think so. I would think that obvious to anyone who looked at you.
Will you shut up!
::Gideon couldn't help snickering at Stefan's comment::
Gideon: You've obviously never seen her eat.
