::Meanwhile as Sigismund's guests were being led to safety, Sir Bryant and Kaworu were silent, Sir Bryant with his eyes straight ahead. Once they reached the end, Sigismund made a formal apology to each of the guests in turn::
I beg your forgiveness most humbly. It seems the Witch of Webs used my gracious invitation as a front to smuggle terrorists into my Kingdom to disturb the peace I've managed to maintain.
Sir Bryant: It didn't look that way to me.
::The eyes of the nobles were suddenly on Bryant, the upstart youth who dared to speak so boldly::
Sir Bryant: It looked more to me like you felt your reign had been threatened with this new revelation that Iole Blakeney or whatever she chooses to call herself may in fact be the heir to Doma's throne. You were awfully hasty to have that Wutai of yours attempt that assassination. What do you think First Lieutenant Kaworu?

::Jas looked up as he heard the blast, seeing the others fleeing down one of the corridors. From the guards that went after them, he knew that something had happened. He knew he wouldn't be missed and quietly fallowed, staying out of sight.::

Kaworu nodded. Despite the eyes of the nobles upon himself and Sir Bryant, Kaworu maintained his collected manner. Kaworu spoke, unafraid to be bold or brass despite the company surrounding himself and Sir Bryant.
"Sir, if I may, I cannot believe the Count would have the people of Doma's best interests at heart by attempting to assassinate the royalty of Doma. It is an act of selfishness and fear in my eyes Sir. If this Iole is indeed the rightful heir to the throne of Doma then this act can be viewed as treason upon the kingdom of Doma by attempting to murder royalty."

::Sigismund's eyes came down on them like an avalanche from a great mountain as he spoke, not as a lashing out like they had expected, but as a calm explanation in the manner a parent would sooth a child after explaining why they had just been punished::
I love Doma with all my heart, and it is for that reason that I attempted to apprehend the culprits, not kill them. Royalty or not, Iole Blakeney and the others have more than one great nation's fall to their credit, as our esteemed guest of the Lindblum People's republic pointed out. And aside from that, the only word we have that this girl is Doma's heir is that of a notorious Witch. The situation called for them to be contained so we could investigate further, away from where they could make a spectacle of themselves in front of my honored company such as yourselves, much like thye just did.
Bryant: Well, I am of the opinion that a leader should worry less about appearances, and more about the truth first.
::at this, the Count simply smiled and shook his head in an "isn't that adorable" gesture at what he percieved as the two young soldiers naivete::
Perhaps you are right my young friends. Perhaps I was a bit rash. You have my word that they will be treated with fairness when they are apprehended.
Sir Bryant: Yes, well that being said, I believe it's time we took our leave as well.
::Bryant turned to leave motioning for Kaworu to follow::
Bryant: As you requested, we will give your regards to Lord Leon.
Actually, I was wondering if you could give him a message instead.
::Bryant stopped walking, but didn't turn back around. The Count's lips turned subtly but in a most unsettling way in a smile::
Tell him, I know what your game is, and I know what you are after.
::Bryant didn't turn to face him, but continued his exit again::
Sir Bryant: Of course.
Do travel safely Sir Bryant. Oh, and Sir Kaworu, tell me, you do not hail from Thamasa like your fellow Mage Knights. Is that correct?

Kaworu, with his back to the Count, answered his query.
"If you must know Count, I hail from the same land as your dear assassain Kamikaze."

::Sigismund stroked his chin with intrigue::
Ah, a Wutai. I should have guessed it. You come from good stock. Yours is an ilk who devotes themselves to a master and the ideal that they represent. You seem quite taken with these Mage Knights' ideas of a world of equality. So tell me, why do you serve this Lord Leon? Have you ever spoken with him? Are you certain you know what his true goals are?

"Where does this tunnel lead to?" Kerion asked as they fallowed Stefan after Gwen made it look like the passageway wasn't opened.

::Stefan continued moving foward::
Out of the castle and into the city. Very few people know about this passageway. One of the old Prince's of Doma used it as an escape from palace life to go among the city in disguise. It leads an abandoned storehouse. We should be able to make it to the airdocks on foot from there. But we'll have to be fast. The Wutai are known for swiftness.

Kaworu smirked and looked down at his wrists, to the mysterious tattoos that read ~Free Will~.
"There are things you don't know about me Count, things I don't even know. But if there's one thing I know and believe in, it is equality and free will. Sir Bryant and Lord Leon have my trust and faith. I've chosen my path. You speak of true goals yet I have a feeling, an instinct if you will, that what you have told us tonight is a ruse. If the time comes that we meet again, I'd love to see if my instinct is correct. Til then, we will send Lord Leon your regards."
With that, Kaworu began to leave the Castle with Sir Bryant. However, a seed of doubt had been planted that Kaworu did not want to dwell on.

::Kerion heard the sound of footsteps fallowing them. But judging from the sound, it wasn't any of the guards because it wasn't silent enough for it to be one of Sigimund's Wutai's because they were trained in stealth. This was someone else.:: "Go on ahead." Kerion whispered. "I'll handle whoever is fallowing us."

::Jas continued to fallow, but notices something odd about one of the gargoyles:: This one's tongue is lower than the others... ::He closes his eyes, and when they open, the whites of his eyes were pitch black while the iris and pupal were pure white. He noticed the glamor spell set in place:: This way. ::The wall rippled as he passes through it, slowly walking down the corridor. After a few seconds, he stops and dodges as someone nearly takes his head off with a punch. He looks and recognizes the attacker::
"Kerion stop!" He said, "It's me, Jas!"

"Jas? What are you doing here, dressed as a waiter nonetheless? And what in the hell happened to your eyes?"

Kerion: Explain on the way, hope you weren't fallowed.

::As the two continued on catching up to the others::
"So that's why you're here?"
Jas: That's right. Good thing I was too because it prevented Astaroth from trying anything on Oliver and Iole. But a princess, I never knew.
"None of us did. And I saw it was quite a shock to Iole as well."
Jas: We'll continue this another time, lets get going. Kyran, change of place, head to the Airship docks and wait for me there.

My, my, why the surprise? I thought little Iole was a princess to all of you.
::Gwen smirked when the two of them turned around and realized she had followed Kerion back::
I'll admit she kan be a little rough around the edges, but she kan be absolutely refined when she wishes to be.
::She smiled at Jas::
Hello Jas, it's been too long. So glad to see you didn't see fit to bring your blade of twelve forms to the okkasion. That blade and I have kome kloser than I would kare for more than once.

Oh trust me, at this point he'd likely give his own life in place of ours. But perhaps this will be best diskussed when we're safely bakk on the Blakk Jakk.

"Right." ::AS they continue to ctach up to the others, Kerion pulled out his PHS and made a call::
"Anya it's me, get the Black Jack ready for take-off, we're leaving."
Anya: Party ended early huh?
"You could say that. But we also got another joining us on the trip back."
Anya: *Sighs* I'm starting to think we should get into the transportation business as well with all the people we've been picking up lately.
::Kerion finished his conversation and hung up as they caught up with the others.::
"Hold it." ::Takes note that two people are missing:: "Where's Lilith and Kenny?"

::Gwen attempted to remain aloof, but Kerion onticed anyway that she was fingering the phoenix pendant that still hung around her neck::
They left the party early. Lily went first, and Kenny followed her. From the looks of things she was giving him a signal to make it look like she was leaving the party without him. And perhaps the old Lily would have. But these days it seems she wouldn't go anywhere without her Knight. Kenny lingered a while after she left, and when it was klear he left through an alternate exit. It seems whoever they were trying to fool was only interested in her.
::The woman's insight into the mind-set of other could be unnerving at times. It was like listening to a playwright discuss the motives and dialog of characters she had written herself::

"Well, I believe that went surprisingly well." Nahla mentioned, musing over the evening. She was still glowing even as they escaped. The night's former glamor still making her gush.
Vincent and Nahla had escaped with the others through the secret passage out of Doma castle.
"No more fancy parties, entirely too rough." Vincent Muttered, looking tired and a bit disheveled. "It wasn't entirely a disaster." Nahla said. "They tried to arrest us." "But they didn't succeed." "Always the optimist." Nahla smiled approvingly.
"Guinevere," Vincent spoke, looking at the witch with disdain. "Do us a favor and next time you wish to drop a bomb shell in the presence of a budding dictator type, please, inform us first. Anyway, we need to find Lillith and Kenny before Siggy figures out she they were with us."
