The Village of Mist is a very small parish just outside the Mist Cave. Its citizens are said to have the ability to summon monsters to fight at their disposal. This also the home of Rydia and her mother. The town is ravished by fire when Cecil opens a parcel from King Baron containing Bomb monsters (credit Wikipedia).

The Village of Mist now been rebuilded from that.

Kaipo is located in the middle of the desert between the Village of Mist and Damcyan.

Damcyan is a castle town that was once almsot destoryed by Goblez and the Red Wings. It has be reconstructed and ruled by King Edward now.

Mount Hobs is a stretch of mountains connecting Damcyan and the continent of Fabul. This is where monks like Yang usually train here.

By the seaside and within the area of Mt. Ordeals is the town of where white and black mages live and the one of the Crystals reside. This was where Polom and Porom reside and Cecil redeemed himself.

A treacherous mountain where one can climb up the mountain to become a Paladin. Most do not make it until Cecil came along and became a Paladin. However, there could still be come myserty within the mountains...

A castle town where the Earth Crystal reside and ruled by the 8 Sisters.

A small town that deems themselves to be related to the Dwarves. Up in the mountains, there is still the hole that leads to the Underworld; done by Cecil and his friends.

Eblan is a monarchy ruled by King and Queen Geraldine. The military is composed of men trained in ninja arts, including Prince Edward "Edge" Geraldine. The castle has been rebuilded due from attack from Goblez. All seems to be in peace...

These are the lands of the Figaro kingdom. The main areas are the castle and the town, South Figaro.

A vast open prarie that is infested with dangerous monsters and creatures. Great area to gain experience. A small hunting village lays on the Northeastern part of the Veldt.

The Empire controls the Southern continent and does not allow access to it frmo outsiders. The main city is Vector where the Emperor and Kefka rule from. The Magitek Factory is also in Vector. Three villages surround the city on the North, East, and West borders. They include: Albrook, Tzen, and Maranda.

A dock and city on a cliff, where Mako contaminated the ocean to wipe out all the fishing areas, it used to housed a huge cannon until it was moved to Midgar to fire at the Northern Cave Crater.

It used to be a town in a jungle until an earthquake made by a Weapon cracked open the ground, exposing the Lifestream. It is now in the process of rebuilding.

A town that burned down by Sephiroth when he discovered that he was an experiment for Shinra and his true purpose. It has been rebuilt by Shinra to make it as though it never happened. Also the hometown of Cloud and Tifa.

A town that lives by the oriental and ninja culture. However, they do not have much materia. Also the hometown of Yuffie.

An excavation site where they dig, discover, and research fossils, artifacts, and the like. It is also where you can head of the Sleeping Forest where you need a required item to enter the city of Ancients.

A snowy and icy town that lies around the area of the Northern Crater. Also where Dr. Gast and Ifiana, Aeris' parents, lived together in the observatory.

A temple found hidden the deep forest. However, it has been barren and destroy because of the Black Materia taken from Sephiroth.

A crater where the Promised Land, a place full of pure Makio, is deemed to be. It is where the final battle between Cloud and Sephiroth.

The training for the mercenary SeeDs headed by Cid. Also where Squall (and a certain SeeD) train here. Notorious for being attacked by outside forces.

A town that invaded by the Galbadians because they needed to take control of the communication tower to broadcast President Deling. Luckily, the Balamb SeeDs came in to help.

A town where there was once a resistance called the Owls, lead by Rinoa, that fight for their independence for the town. Also where there is a magazine company called called Timber Manics that make naughty magazines...

Like Balamb Garden, it trains SeeDs. However, they are quite rebellious than Balamb.

A peaceful town where Laguna, Raine, and Ellone once lived and still is as peaceful and quiet after all these years.

The capital city of Galbadia, known as a center of culture and a major metropolitan area in an otherwise desolate region.

A tomb pretty much left abandoned for quite a long time. The GF, Brothers, guard this tomb.

Found in most of the world, going here can help you get a bit of transport with the help of the boy with the whistle who knows a lot about the chocobos.

An odd pyramid ruin where tonberrys roam and the legendary knight, Odin, are.

A house that was an orphanage for children, ran by Edea. All the characters used to live here.

It's barren landscape has been changed into a lush and blooming field of violets following the death of the witch Natalia.

An alternate reality where the powerful sorceress Ultimecia rules the world. The way to get there is possible by looking for the gates all over the world. It housed the powerful monster, Omega Weapon. The castle has been quite abandoned....

A long-abandoned facility that was researching on way to improve the concept of drawing magic. It housed the two powerful GFs: the King of Dragons Bahamut and Edea. It also housed Ultima Weapon, which supposedly is juctioned to a large crysal.

"The Realm of Eternal Rain," it was once a great country known for its strength and righteousness, but the player only knows it as rain-drenched ruins. Was home to the Burmecians, a rat-like people known for their great nobility and sense of honor. Sir Fratley, Freya, and Puck are originally from here.

-Current History-
Long used as the base of operation by the fallen Angel and avatar of Pestilence, Loci. Since his 'death' it has been left barren, blighted, and a ghost town. A tomb left to rot and wash away under the constant rains. Rumor's circulate that a malicious entity still resides here along with the ghosts of the dead.

Eiko and Garnet's hometown. It was destroyed ten years ago by the airship called the Invincible. This was about four years before Eiko was born. Garnet and her real mother fled to Alexandria, but Garnet's mother was dead by the time they floated into Alexandria's harbor. Nestled deep in a winding canyon, Oeilvert houses advanced holographic technology which appear to tell a story about a long-dead civilization as well as a mysterious airship-like guardian known as "Ark". Eventually, the forest led out into an icy lake, which was the location of Macalania Temple, home of the fayth for the aeon Shiva, which was the reason for Macalania's frozen environment. It was here that the unsent summoner Yunalesca awaited the arrival of the strongest of the summoners, so that she might bestow upon them the Final Summoning to defeat Sin. During the Eternal Calm, Zanarkand became a tourist attraction, and people from all over Spira sought to visit it, despite its previous status as a holy place. Home to the Ronso tribe as well as the fayth of Dream Zanarkand. Before the Eternal Calm, summoners had to pass over this treacherous mountain in order to reach the Zanarkand ruins. It is littered with the graves of summoners who died trying to pass. After the defeat of Sin, the fayth which resided here disappeared.
