::Lillith could hear the whispers as sure as she could feel the hackles on the back of her neck. But she didn't bother looking around or behind her, knowing without doubt that if she was the current target of his game, she wouldn't be able to find him no matter which direction she turned. She growled under her breath and turned to Kenny::
I'll be back soon. An old friend just told me he'd like a word with me.
::Kenny's only response was a nod. Collecting herself as best she could, she slipped out of the gala, hoping with all she had Iole and Oliver could fend for themselves for now. Because the most dangerous wolf in their midst had just invited her to his den::

Oliver had left Iole to her singing when they came to get her. He was reluctant to leave her side, now that this new fiend form the past had showed. What other ghosts were hear to haunt, he wanted to know, but the revelation he feared would drive him to the brink. He went back to his duties, slipping around through the back, watching the crowd but so far, nothing had happened. The job was starting to become tedious and he had to reserve himself from telling Rogan to bugger off. Though, every venture back out to the main hall lifted his spirits as Iole sang.

Vincent and Nahla were enjoying themselves, partaking in food that wasn't possibly cut from stray airdock cats. Rafee could cook a mean dish, but lately, meat and other delicacies had come scarce. This was a rare treat, and the drink was the finest he ever had. Truth be told, this Count fellow had done nothing but sway his opinion positively - thus far. Both knew this wouldn't last long before some horrible turn of events would ruin what would be an otherwise excellent night.
Something caught Nahla's and Vincent's attention. Lillith quickly making her way out from the event. Both looked to one another concerned. "Should we?" Nahla asked. "No, she's knows what she's doing. We stick to the plan." Vincent reaffirmed, though now he guard was being raised. Something wasn't right and the festivities were beginning to take on a more sinister tone.

Oh... no thank you. I'm not hungry... You're a servant right? You live on the outside. You're probably more up on current trends and things like that? Have you ever heard of this girl?

Kamikaze: The Cetra is here as well? This is going to be interesting...

August emerged from a shadowy corner, fixing his tux and glasses and carrying his black case. He looked smug, satisfied with himself. He trotted down the stone passageway adjacent to the main-hall. A few servants and staff lingered about, heading to and from back rooms and service entrances.
August turned, heading towards a burgundy velvet curtain that separated the two areas from one another when he heard a distinct sound of someone approaching behind. He didn't turn, but let his hand slip from the fabric.
"Yes...? Can I help you?" He asked, his tone more annoyed than spiteful.

I'll have to thank you for stepping away from the festivities. You've made my job a lot easier.
::Gideon stepped out from the shadows with his dagger gleaming even in the darkness::
But that leaves me to two conclusions; you're either cocky, or you're a fool. And you don't seem like a fool to me.

August chuckled lightly. "Neither, thank you. I prefer to think of myself as... methodical. And beg I ask, who are you that wishes to see me dead?" His eyes darted to Gideon, but he remained still. "You came with the good Captain, didn't you? Tell me, how is Miguel these days? Has he gotten over all those 'issues' he's been dealing with." August then scoffed, silly question. "Forgive, I ramble. Now, what were you saying? Oh right, the dagger and murdering me. Well, what is the hold up? Afraid to kill a special guest of the Count on such an auspiciousness occasion? Oh, wait what's that I hear?"
A stead echo of footsteps coming down the hall, perhaps from one of the wait-staff.
"Better hurry, I think someone is coming. Be just terrible for you and your friends if you were caught with soiled hands."

::Not wanting to waste any time, Gideon gripped the hilt of the dagger::
May you find the enlightment that eluded you in the next life.
::And in a fluid motion, so quick it was scarcely a blur, Gideon plunged the dagger forward, its point going for his ribs::

The dagger struck home, piercing past August's dinner jacket, shirt, then suddenly the dagger stops dead. The point snapped and sent a strong reverberation back into Gideon's hand. From the slice in the clothes, a faint glowing emits from one of the many carved sigils and seals in August's skin. He chucked at Gideon's attempt.
"Worthy attempt, I give you an A for effort. But someone already did that; I made sure it wouldn't happen again. Sorry to disappoint." He turned and pushed Gideon's daggered hand away. "You could try punching me, maybe that would work better. I'd suggest shooting but... that just makes such a clamor." He calmly drew a handkerchief from his jacket's pocket and begun wiping his glasses. "If that is all, may I get back to my glass of wine?" He set his glasses back over his eyes and looked at Gideon curiously, waiting for his permission.

::Gideon slipped the dagger back into his sleeve. This would not be the place. This was a foe who would require greater thought to dispose of. He had killed many "witches" over the years, and each of them had their own unique styles and varying degrees of skill, as well as levels of corruption. There were times he had even attempted to save them. Sometimes they listened, and sometimes they hadn't. But the black light in the man's eyes was hollow and void despite the mask of smiling satisfaction he wore::
You've been a tool for too long now, and you look like more of a monster than any demon I've ever seen. You watch your step because that monster will soon swallow you whole.

Kaworu enters with Sir Bryant, clad in his finest formal wear. Since becoming Sir Bryant's Lieutenant, Kaworu was quickly learning the ropes.
"Introducing Sir Bryant of Thamasa and Kaworu, Sir Bryant's Lieutenant and both representatives of Lord Leon and his Mage Knights to tonight's festivities."
Kaworu looked to Sir Bryant. "Sir, may I ask why exactly have we been invited to tonight's ball?"

August chuckled softly to himself, he liked this fellow. It was almost humorous how he attempted to 'warn' him about the monster's inside. As if it were something to fear, but for August, he desired nothing more then to let it consume him. What truths and revelations such an existence could hold were too enticing to pass up for a man like August.
"We're all tools for someone or something, it's how we choose to embrace that existence that separates us." He reached for the curtain. "And let that monster come with an open maw and gnarling teeth. I'll welcome it with open arms." He stepped past the curtain and let it drop behind, leaving Gideon alone.

((OOC: After reading what has happened i figured that i should do something to help Lillith))
As Kenny was by himself after Lillith left to speak to an old friend as she told him she will return soon from the festive event that they have apparently went to along with Oliver and Iole. It seemed that Kenny was really happy for Iole and Oliver as it seemed that his sister was growing up and that she really have strong feelings for Oliver. He was also feeling fine after finally coming to terms with admitting that he was friends with Gwen and that though she can no longer harm him or his wife he still did wonder if she can really change for the good. Suddenly Kenny felt a funny feeling as he noticed that Lillith had been gone for quite sometime and that something was wrong. "I must go" he said as he attempted to make his way out of the ball "I'm sorry but I just have to go." he said as he made his way out of the ball

"Vincent? Vincent Kumi?" Called a voice from the crowd, just a few feet away from the captain and Nahla. Vincent's ear twitched but he kept focus on his glass and the crowd. "It must be you. Hello again."
Approaching to Vincent's side was an older gentleman, wearing formal military (old military) dress adorned with an assortment of medals and commendations. "Oh forgive me interruption, Lord Gordon Noel. I was a friend of your father during the war-" "That so?" Vincent rebuttal, still not showing a whole lot of care. "Which war?" "Uh..." Lord Noel seemed taken back by the response. "A few of them. I must say, I'm surprised to see you. I heard you disappeared before the siege, went with some of the 'help'. Must of been traumatic for you." "It was a long time ago, hardly remember it. Why are you talking to me about this?" Vincent cocked his head to look at the man. "Well, I was hoping we could talk. I have some investment opportunities that may-" "Not interested." "But Lord Kumi-" "I'm not a Lord, I'm a Captain and if you wish to address me with formal titles use the correct one." "I'm sorry, Captain." Lord Noel's was beginning to grow agitated. "Your father had a large number of land holdings in the Empire, including ones with mythril and gold deposits. Perhaps we could work together in a few mining investments. Or maybe I could purchase the rights from-" "Nope. Listen, Gordon, I left that life behind a long, long time ago. I appreciate your greediness, but I'm just not interested in doing anything that will once again bring me back to that era in my life. I rather just let it all rot till I die and let the banks or whoever fight over it. The Kumi name is dead, rather keep it that way." "You can't be serious... you are serious? You're some bloody sky-pirate now from what I've heard, you have no righ-" "Let me stop you right there. Shhh, there, you stopped, good boy." "Why I," Throaty growl. "The Empire wants those lands, do the right and proper thing and sell while we're gracious enough to not take them. If you change your mind." Flips down a piece of paper onto the table before Vincent. "Here's my card. Decide quickly, Captain." An angry Lord Noel does a quick about-face and walks off.
"Uh captain," Nahla asked, "Was your father like that? All stuffed up with a stick up his ass? Seems to be a breed trait of these people." "What? Suggesting something?" "Oh no, nothing, sorry I asked Captain Tight Pants."

(OOC: Sorry Kaworu, my brother's not around to post right now, so I'll play Bryant for him for now. By the way, Vincent LOVE IT!)
::Bryant kept his cool blue eyes ahead of him as they descended the steps, not looking at Kaworu as he spoke::
Bryant: We're simply here as representatives of Lord Leon. Though in my opinion this is a vapid waste of time. Lord Leon's already made his position with this Count Sigismund very clear.
::Bryant stared back and forth with dismay at the gathering::
Bryant: Look at them all. All these high borns given everything they could ever want from the day they were born without the slightest scrap of gratitude. Their eyes barely glance toward the servants who work themselves to exhaustion to please them, as though they were nothing more than furniture. This is exactly the kind of bigotry we were formed to change.
::Bryant reached out and stopped one of the servants passing him, a surprisingly well-built one eyed Burmecian::
Bryant: You sir, would you say you're happy with your lot in life, graveling at the feet of these parasites?

Oliver was once again busy serving drinks and food when one of the nobles pulled him away, quite abruptly to ask him a seriously dangerous loaded question.
"Uh, w'a?" Oliver muttered out confused. "I, uh, just doin' my job, sir." He was becoming nervous by this line of questioning. He had plenty to say about the 'parasites' but what was he to do? Even a little slip up could cause a cascade of problems. "Ye like an Horse d'oeuvore, sir?" He showed a big, awkward smile as he asked, presenting the try to Byrant. "Just take it and leave, take it and leave." He thought, hoping to get out of this situation quickly and without incident.

That's a most interesting accent you have. You're not from around here are you.
::He reached forward and took a bit off the tray::
Yes, since you are obviously working honestly with sincere effort, I believe I will try one of your... One of these.
::He took it and popped it into his mouth quickly, but once it was touched his tongue, his face suddenly went sour. He wasn't used to this kind of rich food. Nevertheless, he continued a rather embarassing attempt to swallow amid small gagging noises::
