Alright, everybody calm down. She's not here to kill any of us, she says she has some information. It might even be able to help us find out more about this Sigismund character.
::She takes her hand and lowers the barrel of Nahla's shotgun::
You're going to have to check that at the door Nahla. I don't let my students carry firearm they should be allowed the same courtesy from my guests. Kerion checked his as well, so there's no need to worry. Now if we may conduct ourselves in a civilized manner, we can all...
::Rose came down the hallway carrying a tray of appetizers::
Rose: Breakfast is ready! I hope you're hungry.

::Outside, Kerion and Gideon were approached by a pallid young woman dressed in black with dark eyes and long black hair tied into a multitude of small braids::
Kate: The Headmistress sent me to tell you there is a special breakfast being held for you and her other guests in the staff dining hall. If you'll follow me please.

::The private dining room reserved for this gathering was filled with a dull hum and the clanking of forks when Iole finally entered, a good ten minutes after everyone else had sat down::
Sorry I'm late. Playing with my nephew.
::She was a little unnerved by all the eyes that were suddenly on her. The pair in particular that got under her skin was Gwen's, glistening hazel above her pale smile. The Witch sat near the head of the table on Lillith's left, opposite Kenny. Her long sandy ringlets were strewn over the her shoulders and spilled over the sides her chair. But the anxiety didn't discourage Iole from taking a seat next to Oliver and heaping a mound of roast as big as her head onto her plate. In fact the feeling encouraged her apetite. She wasted no time sinking her teeth into it, sparing a glance to her right where Vincent was sitting and speaking with a mouth full of meat::
Hey Vinshent. Rong time ro shee.

Alright Gwen, she's here. Now why are you here? And it had better be good, because frying you has crossed my mind sevral times just since we've been sitting at this table.

::After getting his shoes back on, he notices Anya still sleeping. He grinned before approaching her and moving to her ear:: "Attention Anya, this is your wake-up call." ::Seeing as she hasn't stirred, he has another idea.:: "Anya, the Blackjack has been stolen!" ::This startles her awak as she moves, but falls off the couch::
Anya: Very funny Kerion. Where's my glasses?
"On the table next to the couch." He replied.
Anya: ::Grumbles as she grabs her glasses:: What was with the wake-up call?
"Breakfast is up." He replied. "Figured you didn't want to miss it."
Anya: ::Gets her glasses on:: You still could of found a more suitable way to wake me up.
"Anything else you would of slept through." He replied as they made their way to the dinning room.

::Guinevere's eyes never left Iole the entire time she spoke. Not once::
Alright then, since you're all here now I suppose I should inform you. How many of you are already aware of the situation in Doma? How many of you know of a man named Kount Drakul Vladimir Sigismund? From what the good Kaptain has said, you've already had someting of a run-in with him.
Lillith: We've been through this already. He's the ruling steward of Doma. What does he have to do with why you came?
Everything Lilly my dear. If you would kindly stop interrupting, I'll get to the point. Kaptain, would you kare to share with us the details of the invitation you recieved from him?

"I could say the same." Vincent replied to Iole, who by now was already well entrenched in eating as she always had been. Food and her was both a fascinating and horrifying thing to behold.
Oliver softly caressed her back, not wanting to get in the way of her voracious eating. Someone would likely loose a hand, or at least several fingers if they got in the way. He whispered in her a 'morning' and soft pet on her back.
Nahla had given up her shotgun, but that hadn't stopped her from failing to disclose the numerous other weapons she carried on person. Enough to make a redneck blush - it would be comical if she actually tried handing them all over, in fact it's likely she would have forgeten where some were hidden. When Kerion entered, she shot him a dagger cold stare, and throughout the course of the meal, her eyes were trained on him like a relentless hawk.
After Gwen spoke, Vincent wiped his mouth and spoke. "Excuse me, Guinevere, but why on Gaia are you telling us this? And more so, how do I know your words can be trusted. Not trying to be suspicious, but this is you who is telling us this." He took a sip from his drink. "He invited us to a sort of Gala. I'm suppose to represent the former empire of Gestahl. Whatever that is suppose to mean nowadays eludes me."

::From the folds of her dress she pulled a small white envelope with Doma's seal on it::
I recieved this shortly before I kontakted Kerion. But to my original point; why, dear Vincent would he invite you to this event to represent the Ghestalian Empire?
::But the way she said it gave everyone the impression she already knew the answer::

Vincent growled, he didn't like this line of questioning nor being backed into a corner here - specially by her. To top it all off, he was now stuck - he had divulge his secret that only his crew and a few others knew. With Kerion there, and Gwen, he bit his lip at allowing them access to this history. Nahla and Miguel looked to him, curious and pained. They were as reluctant as he was to let this secret out - specially Miguel who also had a direct connection to Vincent's past.
"Nahla... the flask." Vincent commanded. Confused, "The gin or sherry?" "Both." She handed two silver flasks over to Vincent, he downed the gin one first. Followed closely by the sherry. He needed placebo of liquid courage. He coughed, wiped he lips and then begun to speak.
"I say this with the strict and utmost due confidence. My father was General Salazar Kumi, Emperor Gestahl's Tactical adviser and one of his court that was also betrayed by Kefka Palazzo. By family marriage and military succession, I am the last living son and heir to the throne of the Gestahlian empire."
"Not that he's interested in that political stuff-" Miguel interjected.
"Shut up, Miguel." Vincent retorted; to which Miguel saluted and went back to his food.

::Guinevere grinned::
Don't be too surprised Kaptain. I had always guessed their was nobility in you. Being a woman of high birth myself, you gave off certain signs I kouldn't overlook. However, you seemed to have all but abandoned your title and klaim. So why of all people would Kount Sigismund summon you. It must have taken some effort to link your bloodline to the throne of Vektor. So why?

Vincent nodded, this was true, he had relinquished his claim to the throne - though not the wealth that followed the second Sands War which he still had stashed away. The prize of victory, so to speak.
"That, Guinevere, is why I am here. I do have a few theories, yes. But until I know this Count better, and his intentions, I'm afraid its nothing more than grasping at straws. Perhaps you can shed some light on to what these intentions may be?"

::Guinevere flourished her white fingers through her long hair::
You're all missing a key point. The Kount is the Steward of Doma. Doma has not had a true legitimate ruler since the Empire's initial invasion. He's done well karing for his nation for the last few years. But still, he is not rekognized as her King. I imagine that frustrates him after all the blood and sweat he's shed in its name. And without royal blood in his veins, there is nothing he kan do to change that. Unless... there is a certain international law that dekrees that in the event of no apparent heir, or other krisis of sukcession, another may be legally akkowledged as the rightful ruler, if he has the sealed rekognition of three seperate dignitaries.

"Well, that certain sheds a bit of light on all this." Vincent says with a reassuring nod. "So, I take it he wants my seal of approval. Well joke will be on him, though I never officially renounced my linage legally - I did shatter the family seal." He said with a little playful smirk. "Ok, so some schmuck wanna-be blue blood wants to be 'king in the castle' of Doma, why should we care? Doma has been, if anything, a bit player in the international scene. Hell, do they even have an army worth mentioning or a GDP worthy of praise - though I've been out of the loop, I certainly haven't been running across any merchant vessels flying the flag of 'Doma' on them." He mocked, clearly not impressed with this sudden revelation.

Yes that does seem to be the question doesn't it. Why all the fuss over the little kountry kingdom of Doma? Why did the Empire bother with it in the first place? How did it hold off the Empire's invasion for so long? It certainly wasn't up to par with Ghestal's Magitek tekhnologikal breakthroughs. And even more interesting, why is the Empire pushing north from Vektor again so furiously to get Doma bakk in its metallik bloodstained fingers?

"You tell me." Vincent interjected once again. "Following the Angel wars, Vector's lands were disjointed and fragmented due to the inordinate amounts of 'magic' radiation. Since their reemergence from... space-time or, whatever that place was Loci took my crew, Natalia, and the others was, it has made impressive feats at restoration. We slipped by less than a year ago, in fact, to meet up with Adrian. Anyway I digress - the 'Empire' is currently being run by some republic-like council, or something. There is no real empire -." He slowly spewed out, slowly coming to a realization of what Gwen was saying and the Count may have planned.
"Ok, so what does Doma have that a shattered empire would want? Forgive my ignorance, but last I knew, Kefka poisoned its only source of water. What can be left worthy of the land?"

Oh Doma's bekome quite livable in recent years, thanks to the Kount's efforts. Thanks to him, they bekame self sufficient for the first time in over a dekade. But you are korrekt. On the surface there is nothing noteworthy about that Kingdom. However, one thing we know for certain; that the Empire is struggling, and has been struggling ever since the Heroes of Gaia shattered its spine in the Sands War. They are desperate, but not fools.
::She held her hand over the table and dull red glow covered its surface, obscuring the food from sight (much to Iole's chagrin). A map of the sixth world appeared in place of their breakfast::
In the south you'll notice the kapital city of Vektor. Last summer they began to push north quite aggressively, until their advance was impeded in Tzen by the Blakk Knight of Thamasa at the northernmost tip of the southern kontinent. And they have been lokked in a stalemate with him since. However, look here. They have nearly the entire kontinent at their flanks to swoop down on and take for themselves, yet they kontinue to attempt to bypass the Blakk Knight and kontinue north, towards Doma. This is not a rabid animal klawing for whatever skraps it kan find. This is a serpent who has chosen its pray karefully, planned their moves metikulously, and are pressing forward tenaciously.
::Iole reached through the illusion and retrieved the meat she'd been devouring to sink her fangs into it again::
Iole: Damn woman's a dictionary.
My point is that there is klearly something of interest for the Empire there, and apparently to our friend the Kount as well.

"So, again, why does this involve us?" Vincent pondered aloud, curiously looking to Gwen. "Frankly, I see nothing here to warrant such a 'team' you have assembled here. The matters of some faraway state seem rather trivial compared to the dire straits you yourself has put us through. Has there been reports of genocide or, perhaps even, interstellar or interplaner forces?" He swirled around the food on his plate with the fork. "All I see here is an Empire trying to relive its glory days by reacquire lands that were once withing its sphere of influence while some young upstart ruler is resisting. Why should any of us even consider getting involved?"
Oliver had been listening in dutifully to the conversation, remembering back to his time at Cafe Abaissé, in Lindblum, where ideas where freely spoken and politics was always a hot topic. "W'at aren't ye tel'in us?" Oliver curiously asked. "Vincent rig't, w'y s'ould we concern ourselves?"

::Guinevere shifted her hazel eyes on Oliver this time::
Granted I have decieved you all in the past. You have every right to be wary of me.
Lillith: Damn right.
I suppose I kould ramble on about my change of heart, my sincer desire to do some good for this world. But they would just be empty words to you all. For a moment I believed your trust was attainable...
::Her eyes flickered ever so slightly to Kerion::
But now I understand that would be impossible. It shall have to be aktion that earns your konfidence. That notwithstanding, konsider what I am telling you. It's possible something within Doma is of great interest to the Empire. Something they're willing to make great sakrifice for. Strategikally this is a heavy gambit for them. If it's truly that valuable an asset, think about it. Do we really want something like that in the hands of the Empire? Kan we trust Sigismund with it either?
