::Gideon laughed, then suddenly his foot shot out, kicking the blade of his sword. Its hilt flew at Kerion's head like a backwards javelin, and it would have been enough to send his senses reeling had he not side-stepped it. Instead it only scored a glancing blow just above his eyebrow. It wouldn't even bruise. The elf leaped over him and caught the sword in his hand, landing in a perfect fighting stance::
Four hundered years this blade has been my companion. Had we been fighting seriously, you never would have been able to part me from this sword.
::He moved to the wall of the courtyard and retrieved his leather scabbard. he sheathed the sword and began to pull his dark blue tunic back over his head. He strapped the sword to his back and extended his hand to Kerion::
Your skills are undeniable.

"As are yours." He replied, taking Gideon's extended hand and shaking it. "And had I been serious, you would of been able to cut me." ::They both share a laugh as they let go of their hands::

::He took a seat and began refastening the studded leather vest he wore over his tunic. He took a steady swig from the flask of water he carried with him::
So what's the story between you and Anya. Not to pry, but she seems very.... territorial around you. Are the two of you lovers?

"Not exactly." He replied. "We've been working together for years, she's acting like this because she doesn't know you very well, she can't stand that she doesn't know someone. Gwen on the other hand... She did try to kill us, so that would be a bit understandable. But Maria does like her, sees her as a mother."

::Gideon took a small cord from his vest and used it to pull his long white hair back::
Maria?
::He questioned::

"My adopted daughter." He replied. "Reason she's not with us right now is because school is currently going on. That and its abit dangerous for her to travel with us right now, with me being wanted and all."

::Gideon grinned in a very snarky fashion::
You lead a very odd life-style for a mercenary.

"I prefer to be one-of-a-kind rather than odd." He joked. "I'm not fully a mercenary, my main profession is actually bounty hunting."

And Iole happened to turn up as one of your bounties?

"No. She was part of the LPA at the time, a group the Lindblum police higher-ups hired me to take down." he replied.

::Gideon nodded as he pieced the story together::
I see. I imagine she was one of your tougher opponents. She's a tenacious one.

"Yeah. Sad thing is, I did come close to killing her the last time we fought. But some cat attacked me and clawed at my face, preventing that from happening." He said, sounding relieved when he spoke the last sentence.

"Lillith! Been too long, how's the family? Simon must be getting big by now." He returned the tight hug, happy to see her again after all this time. He couldn't remember the last time they got together in person.
Nahla returned the hug as well, but was still keeping a close grip on her weapon. She really was too overly protective. "Aww shucks, I was hoping I'd start to look dignified by now."
"Mah back!" Miguel yelp, the crunch of his spine like pops from a machine gun. "Miss ya' too, but... crushing. Spine..."
"Man up, Miguel." Nahla retorted, watching on with a little smirk.
Vincent chuckles to himself. "Don't think you can use this to claim medical leave. Spend enough time sleeping as is. Anyway, Lillith, glad you could have us. Hope we're not intruding much? Here-" He offers up a bottle of red wine with a faded label. "Believe you need this more than we do. It's Galbadian Merlot, 1755. Exquisite vintage. So where's the others? Haven't driven your better half away have you!"
Oliver came running up, greeting the captain and crew with a hearty and friendly wave. "Capt, 'ong time no see!"
Vincent smiles, warmly, "Think I see a few new scars on you, excellent! That's what I like to see, how you been?"
Oliver shrugs, weighing the response, "Ah we'l been a'right - mostly. Iole's here too-" He looks around, curiously. "Wonder w'ere she is?" He mumbled to himself.

::Gideon smiled::
If you really did threaten Iole's life, that cat's the least of your worries. You said you've met Nicole. You're lucky to be alive.

"She's the reason I got Maria back from those that took her." he replied. "But she did leave me with a threat before she gave her back."

Don't you dare encourage him Vincent! This boy's given me more gray hairs than my own offspring!
::She took the bottle gladly::
You have no idea how perfect your timing on this is. As I mentioned last night, I have a house full of guests, Iole and Oliver included, and I spent the better part of the evening trying to keep them from killing each other. They've driven me to drink. I'm so glad you're here. Maybe you can help me restore some order to this place. Anyway, come inside. Rose is getting something ready for you. I'll send one of the students to fetch the others.

"Sounds like a plan, Nahla, if you please." He offered for his crew-woman to go first, to which she replied with a hard, but friendly elbow to Vincent's back. "Yah, no. Though I appreciate the gesture."
"I'll go!" Miguel responds joyfully and proudly steps forward with his chest puffed. He heads inside, the others in tow. Nahla still looking around suspiciously, "Lillith, said there been fighting? Kerion? Where is that little bounty hunter dweeb anywho? Won't be able to relax till I got him under my watchful eye."
"Nahla, relax, will you. We're Lillith's guests, she won't let anyone attempt to collect on us here. That I know and trust."
"Yeah, not happening, Captain. No offense Lillith." Nahla replied. "So what's Rose cooking up?!" Turning back to her more bubbly self, once more.
Both Oliver and Miguel rolled their eye/s at the two bickering.

What on earth would Kerion want to collect the three of you for?
::Lillith said it so straightforwardly they could almost believe she had no idea what they were talking about::
Miguel: Well considering our long career of Pira--
::Miguel yelped as a strange jolt went up his back, like a static shock::
Something wrong Miguel? You seem tense. Maybe you shouldn't talk much until we get you something to eat.

::Once through the door, Miguel had entered first, so he was the first one to see the hem of her scarlet dress hanging over the marble staircase that led from the entry hall to the second floor::
Well if it isn't the legendary Kaptain Vincent and his faithful krew. How nice to see you all again.

Vincent curiously furrowed his brow after Miguel was shocked silent, "Hmm, I really need to learn that." He looked back to Lillith. "Truth be told, we've been on edge since that Count... Sig-" "Sigismund, sir." Nahla interrupted. "Yes, him, Count Sigismund. The whole thing has a certain feel back to the Order's attack in Treno. Not saying it is, but random correspondence from royalty leaves me wondering what exactly is their angle. Have you learned any-"
Then, when the three see Gwen, they freeze. Even Nahla, with her gun is struck dumb by the sight of her. "Ah hell no." All three crew say simultaneously.
