Without question Kai went through the books. He didn’t want to look at the captain at the moments where because he was scared or angry he didn’t really know himself. For the first few volumes nothing really came up. That is until he read the name Cosmos. Could this be the voice he was hearing? He had a feeling it was but he wasn’t absolutely sure. He continued on reading but nothing much was said about her. He continued on reading but all it spoke of was her part in a war.
He went to the next book and the next and the next and he kept running into Crystals and their magical powers. He wondered if that was any connection. Like Cosmos it was only mentioned rarely. But, in most or all cases for the matter, they played a pivotal role in each event. It was then that it hit him. It wasn’t the books but a memory. He remembered he was walking around a giant blue Crystal.
“What do you know personally about a being called Cosmos?” asked Kai. He figured a person going to many places and hearing many tales would know more than a hard fact book.

Vincent waits for the music to end before sitting his violin down on the bed beside him, he takes a moment to think then looks to Kai. "If memory serves me correctly, that is one of the names of 'The Goddess of Harmony' or something like that, an ancient god. Some sort of legend about her at war with another god, all old legends. Why?" He questions as he rolls the bow's tip with his fingers. "Find something that clicked in that scattered head of yours?"
He sets the violin back in its case, placing the bow beside it, and shuts it with loud snaps. "I'm really not the authority on ancient gods or goddesses, the occult, or any of that nasty business. Though I know someone who does specialize in all that. An old friend, might even know what you are exactly."

“I’m not really sure,” answered Kai could be wrong but he felt like he had met her before. Then again it would be impossible considering she was an ancient goddess and he was well he wasn’t sure what he was yet. He logically found it unlikely anyway. “You said I was made of Crystals?” asked Kai. He then looked at his hand and slowing moved his palm up and summoned a Crystal. He was shocked. He didn’t know what made him do it. Heck he didn’t even notice his hand lifting up until the Crystal appeared.
He didn’t say anything right away to the captain. But, he just analyzed it for a moment. It was then he remembered what this was for. It was his weapon. But, why would he summon it on accident? Was something going to happen? Or was it for some other reason?

"Yes..." Vincent, curious, stands and walks over to Kai, eyes focused on the summoned crystal in his hands. "I believe it's time we go see Zephyra." He stays still for another moment, watching that crystal in Kai's palm. He breaks away after a moment, walks over to a intercom, clicks it on and speaks.
"Nivzad, get the engines up and running. Tresk, Miguel, chart a course to Vector." He exclaims into the intercom's mic. "Aye captain..." It's Tresk's voice. "Is something wrong?" "I don't know yet, just get to plotting." "Yes, sir."
He shuts the device off and turns around, folding his arms as he does. "I hate to say it, but you're going to be our 'guest' for a little longer. I dunno what you're capable of, can't let you off the ship till I know you're not going to be a threat to yourself or anyone else. That..." He takes a seat on the bed, still facing Kai, hunched over, arms on his legs, hands clasped. "And there's people out there that would kill for that ability of yours."

”Zephyra?” Kai hoped this person could have some answers or at least point him in the right direction. He looked back at the crystal in his hand. Its blue glow made it seem almost magical and unreal. Could it be? Nah it was too early to speculate anything yet. “Guest?” The way Vincent sounded it looked like he didn’t really have a choice.
Just then the ship rumbled somewhat. Unknown to them they ship was about to be raided be an unknown enemy, most likely thieves. The ship rumbled again and Kai almost fell down. Lucky e caught him using the wall. “Is this part of the take off?” asked Kai. He never was on a ship like this so he didn’t know. But it didn’t feel right.

Vincent looks about curiously as well, it deffinitly was unusual to say the least but with the problem with the engines that landed them in this spot, it's hard to say if this was Nivzad's work or something more sinister. He springs to his feet and rushes the intercom, switching it on. "Nivzad! What you doing to my ship?" He scolds. "Nothing capt, pretties are sitting fine, was just about to bring them up when the rumbling started." "Alright, get them up. We're taking off immediatly." He switches a dail on the device. "Nahla, sound the silent GQ." "On it captain." "Find the source of the disturbance, think we might have uninvited guests." "Copy that." He clicks the machine off and turns to Kai.
"You're with me, we're heading to the bridge." He commands, walking to the door just as a message blars over the shipwide intercom. "Cid Norte to the Leto Deck, Cid Norte to the Leto Deck. That is all."
"That's the alarm, come, we'll show you how the Hijrah deals with intruders."

“Ok” Kai didn’t know what will happen next. He was just on the ship for a while and they were already attacked. He followed Vincent while looking around. As they continued their way, to the bridge the intruders already landed on the ship and were making their way through the hallways. Kai had a feeling that trouble was coming.
As they ran through the hall the intruder cut off their path as they ran up before Vincent and Kai stopping them in their tracks. Through reflex, Kai pull out his crystal shard and threw it in front of them. Through hand signals, Kai shattered the Crystal into smaller fragment pieces and shot them at the intruders hitting the front row. But the back row continued jumping over those that were hit by his crystal.

Vincent quick-draws his pistol with a spin and unleashes a volley of shots, all ricocheting off the metal bulkheads, striking the last wave of thieves with a torrent of bullets, slicing through them and turning a few rounds into many. When the last round is extinguished, Vincent holsters his pistol. "Not shabby, Kai."
*Groan* One thief remained alive, though barely, a bullet hole through his chest and possibly lung. He moves, trying to get up but slips in his own blood.
Vincent walks over to him, slamming his boot onto the man's back hard, making him wince and groan in pain. "Mercy... please, I beg..." He pleads from the captain through tears and pain.
"Sorry mate, no honor among thieves." With lighting fast reflexes, Vincent draws his second pistol and plants a round into the injured thief's head, silencing him. He holsters the pistol and looks up to Kai. "Can't show mercy to these curs, give one parley, everyone else will ask for it and before you know it, ships full of rats. Bridge is right this way."
It's a short walk to the bridge from Vincent's quarters, there he enters a code on the keypad beside the hatch. The light upon it turning from red to green and he turns the wheel and walks through. There he is met by Tresk wielding a small pistol pointed straight at the door and Miguel, who carries a fire-axe.
"Dammit Captain, gave me a right scare." Tresk states as he lowers his pistol.
Vincent waits for Kai to enter then shuts the hatch, locking it.
"Tresk, status?" Vincent calls as he takes his seat situated just left of the door.
"Unknown number of intruders, sir. Drilled in through section 01-22-86. Appears to be a well organized bunch, but nothing we can't handle."
"Right, get me Nahla's secure line."
"Roger that, feeding it to your com now." Tresk clicks a switch at one of the command consoles.
Vincent drops down the mic and begins to speak. "Nahla, sit-rep?"
The sounds that return is that of a gun battle, echoing off metal walls before Nahla speaks. "Got the rats cornered in aft cargo, its shiny captain. Nothing to worry about!" What sounds like an explosion followed by the entire ship rocking.
"Nahla!" Vincent cries into the mic, to which Nahla replies. "Just a grenade, nothing to worry about." "Of course I'm worrying! Going to destroy the ship before the intruders even have a chance." "Aww come on capt, you know me!" "That's the problem! Just keep me updated." "Understood."
He switches the com to another setting. "Nivzad, engine situation." "Good to go, engine room is on lock down and the pretties are purring like a p**** on the wharf after today's catch comes in." "Understood, good work." He clicks the intercom off then motions to Tresk with his index finger. "Get us in the air."
There's a deep rumble in the ship, it shudders, hums and through the front windows, the terrain begins to vanish below them as they lift into the air. Tresk at the helm, guiding her up into the sky.
"To Vector." Vincent commands from his chair, then looks back to Kai. "Might want to hold onto something."
Just then, the ship jerks and shoots forward, throwing anyone not prepared for it onto the ground. It's a sharp sudden jerk as the engines fire into cruising speed, it levels off quickly though and soon, it barely feels as if they're moving at all, say for the steady rumble and slight sway of the aircraft.
"Ya get your air legs soon enough there, Kai." Miguel mentions, from the chart station, where upon a table rests a number of large white maps, beside which is a an obvious radar device.
All seems fine for a few moments, till a banging comes at the door. The thieves again no doubt, trying to bust down the door. Vincent, Miguel, and Tresk all look back as the first few bangs erupt, then calmly turn around, relaxed. "Noting to worry about" Miguel states, "That's three inch thick steel, no way they'll bang through it." The banging ceases and Miguel smugly smiles. "See, gave up already." Miguel's smugness however is quickly dissipated as a steady roar erupts from the other side followed by a shower of sparks flying into the bridge. "Wasn't counting on a metal-torch..." The lemur glumly mentions, raising his axe, eyes transfixed on the hatch.
Vincent jumps from his chair, replacing the clip in one pistol as he approaches beside Kai. "Hold fast, open them up the minute the door falls." He raises his pistol and waits, unwavering.

“You can’t kill them if they ask for mercy!” answered Kai. He felt somewhat bad for the theif even though his intentions were wrong to begin with. He couldn’t imagine himself begging for his life a moment before death. Then again he wondered how he would die. Technically he is mad of crystals so assuming he didn’t have any of the organs for survival, how would he die. This thought was somewhat trouble to the next thought; how is he still alive? Was he made of magic or something else? As he followed the Captain a few more rumbles occurred but by now Kai had gotten pretty use to them.
When they got to the bridge he soon found two familiar faces. But, he didn’t want to say anything. He didn’t say it but he felt a guilty for killing those men. The moment he stepped in the room he could hear the slamming sound of the hatch closing. He listened to the responses of Nahla and Nivzad carefully trying to figure out what the thieves. “What could they want to badly they do all of this for it?” pondered Kai.
But, he didn’t have must time to think as the ship jerked upwards at launch. This made Kai loose his balance and would of fallen over if there wasn’t door behind him to catch his fall. As Kai recovered he felt the banging from the thieves trying to get through the door. He immediately jerked back to where the others where.
He didn’t like killing but he knew it has to be done. He figured survival now guilt later. As soon as he made up his mind he pulled the same crystal from before out of his sleeve. He could hear the metal melting and the spark were almost blinding. But still he stayed focused for them. When the door piece fell off Kai lost track of his self thoughts. It felt like everything was in autopilot. Has a situation like his happened before with him? He felt it did. As the thieves charged through Kai also charged in. He had shattered his crystal into smaller pieces and used them to block their barrage of bullets. A One of them managed to get through his crystals and hit his shoulder. But, he didn’t feel any pain from it.
Without thought the first thief that came close to him felt the full blast from his fist. The hit most likely broke his Jaw and it sent him flying back towards the others.

((Sorry for the delay, was in Los Angeles))
The thief plows into the others, knocking them to the ground like bowling pins, they land on the deck with loud cracks, a squirming miserable little pile. One that didn't get hit turns tail and runs, only to be struck down from a bullet, not by Vincent, but Tresk behind them. The round flying close past Kai's cheek. The bullet strikes the thief in the back and he falls without a sound.
"Miguel, watch them." Vincent tosses Miguel his pistol, which is caught by the handle as he walks over to the huddle of thieves. He then turns to Kai. "Nice work there, seems you made good on your statement from dinner." Without another word, Vincent makes for the intercom, turning it to Nahla's channel. "Nahla, sit-rep."
"All routed, got one survivor but he wont be a survivor for long." "Understood, when you're done down there, come up to the bridge. Have more for you to take care of." He flicks it off, then looks to Tresk. "Let's get out of here, shall we, before more show." "Roger, setting course for Vector."
Finally, after all the business is done, Vincent addresses Kai once more. "So Kai, how long have you known about your innate weapons?" He chuckles. "Might I add, glad you're one of the good guys. Not going to pull anything else out of your hands now, are you?"
From the doorway, there's a snap as Miguel kicks one of the thieves who attempted to crawl away.

“Well to begin with I just sort of knew how to use it. I don’t know it’s hard to explain. I didn’t remember I had the skill but knew when the time came,” said Kai. He felt pretty happy that he was able to do something rather then run and hide in the corner. But, it was odd he felt a bit weird as well. That was until he checked his shoulder where he had got hit. A stream of glowing blue blood was beginning to draw down his goat.
It was odd it didn’t hurt much back then. But what worried him the most was that the blood was blue. He remembered reading in the books. A monsters blood is colored blue as well. He covered his shoulder and pondered the idea of him being a monster. “I-I got to go right now,” said Kai as he quickly ran out of the room. He could hear voices in his head once again. They were telling him to get to a quiet and secure place. He didn’t know why but the voice sounded somewhat worried.
He went to his temporary room and locked it. He could hear the woman’s voice inside his head. She then said “relax…” Kai’s body glowed and his body began to crystallize. In a few minute his whole body was incased in large crystal.
Kai felt like he was in a dark cold room. But, the ladies voice was there as well. She began to explain things to him. She told him about his past and his abilities. But, failed to mention much of the big details like who she was or what he was doing here. As she talked Kai’s body, which was still crystallized stood floating in the room.

"What was that all about?" Miguel mentions as Kai zips by with barely a word or reason why.
Vincent just shrugs while Tresk pays no attention, moments later though Nahla emerges from the hallway into the bridge, stepping not so gracefully around the prisoners. "The new guy, what is his deal? Nearly ran me over back there."
Vincent, now back in the captain's chair flicks Nahla's question away. "Dunno, don't care right now. Nahla be a dear and deal with these boot-lickers then help Rafee clean up a little."
Nahla chuckles. "With pleasure, alright!" She commands, with the large assault rifle in her hands, commanding respect and authority. "We're walking!"
Miguel steps aside, letting Nahla take the prisoners away. She strikes them with her gun, pushing and beating them down the hallway off to somewhere unknown.
"Captain, don't you think it might be a bit hypocritical of us to treat thieves in such a manner." Tresk asks, still keeping focus on the helm.
"How so?" Vincent replies. "We might be pirates, but we have honor. We give our targets the option to surrender first, never attack without warning and we never target ships that cannot give us a fair fight. These... animals sneak on board, smash and grab and would kill if a mariner crossed their path. We're nothing like them."
"Understood captain." Is Tresk's reply before returning solely to his navigating.
It'll be sometime before they arrive in Vector but the ride appears it'll be smooth. No sign of hostiles and the ship is been cleared of any possible thieves in hiding, and for the most part, it seems that Kai will be left alone - for now.
