((OOC - Paradox! Two Lilliths occupying the same space at the same time! Eh... didn't want to waste more meaningless conversation for the trip here. )) :: As the Inquisition flies over what Julie recognizes as Sorceress Edea's orphanage - and the Coven's headquarters - the Loire girl notices some modifications to the otherwise familiar scenery. :: "That's Leah Garden? Wow... this must be a bit more like it looked back when it was still the orphanage." :: She pauses for a moment. :: "Y'know, Dad mentioned once that he knew Edea Kramer when she still lived here. But he never told me how they met, or anything." :: She blinks once, then shakes her head gently. :: "... It can't be that important, though. I mean, he wrote all those travel articles back then. He probably met a bunch of people."

(OOC: And again we're screwing with the timeline)
Yeah I'm sure it wasn't anything important.
::Shaft clears his throat::
Shaft: Well actually it's pretty interesting stuff. You see he--
Oh save it for your history class Shaft.
::He gives Lillith a sour look::
Sorry, but you know how these airship rides make me.

((OOC - Shut up. It's your fault. )) :: Julie glances toward Shaft quizzically. :: ' He knows?' :: She'd actually like to hear more, but decides against probing any further... if only to avoid annoying Lillith. :: "So... how many students do you have here? Are they all sorceresses?"
|

Post by Lillith on May 24, 2009 1:09:11 GMT -5
Well I'd say we have about two hundred now. But they're not all sorceresses. A lot of them are orphans or troubled teenagers.
::The Inquisition lands outside the courtyard where the three of them exit. Shaft is barely on the ground again when a pair of arms are thrown around him::
Rose: Hey you.
::Julie nearly jumps and reaches for her gun when she sees the woman with Shaft because from the back of the head she could swear it was Natalia. But when she turns around, Julie relaxes. While she shares the same raven hair and deep tan, this woman's eyes are brown, her ears are round, and there's a sort of maternal roundness and warmth to her face rather than the dark exotic beauty that Natalia had been blessed with::
Rose: Oh you must be Julie. My word you look thin. Lillith, why are all your friends so skinny? Do they never eat?
Hi Rose.
Rose: Oh don't bother with that nonsense. You haven't tossed cookies in an airship for years now.

:: Once she gets over the initial shock of seeing Rose, Julie can't help but notice the irony in the situation. Shaft - who had hated Natalia with an intensity she had never seen before or since - had married a sorceress that bore a stunning resemblance to her. She stifled a giggle at the thought, but Rose's comment about her weight quickly grabbed her attention. ::
"Hey! I have a light frame! This is pretty much my weight limit."
:: It's true, too. Both of her parents had seen her appetite at work. Secretly, it had become a point of pride for her not to have to work too hard to maintain her figure. ::
:: Again, Julie looks surprised, turning towards Lillith. ::
"You get airsick? Um... don't you fly? By yourself?"
:: A voice in the back of her head - her own voice, this time - tells her that she might have known that already. It certainly seems like a detail she shouldn't have forgotten. ::

Hey that is waaaayyy different than carreening around in this screaming metal deathtrap.
::Shaft reaches out and strokes his ship's hull::
Shaft: Don't listen to her baby, she didn't mean it.
Rose: Alright enough you two. Come inside, this little dear must be starving.

:: Julie groans inwardly. She knew she was small - or "petite", as she quickly corrected. Didn't make hearing it put so bluntly any easier. She does make a feeble attempt to gently push the subject towards other things. ::
"Actually, I really do want to see more of this place. Last time I was here it... wasn't quite so pleasant."

(OOC: Look who's talking.)
::Lillith smiles and shakes her head::
Sounds like Rose has made up her mind. Better not to fight her, trust me.
Simon: Mommy!
::Julie follows the voice to a small boy running down the stone steps from the house to the courtyard. He looks about five years old with a red tank-top, black shorts and sandals, with shaggy dark hair the same color as Lillith's, and her same green eyes with the exception of the odd slits. He bounds across the courtyard to her and leaps into her waiting arms::
Hey there Spitfire. Hope you were good for your father.
Simon: Honest I was. I only set my room on fire once.
Your Auntie's not going to be very happy to find out that you damaged her old room. But right now I want you to meet someone. This is Julie Loire and she's an old friend of mine and your father's... well not that old.
::she gives Julie a coy smile::

((OOC - I'm running a storyline. I have an excuse. : ) :: Julie has to laugh at the innocent way Simon described setting his room on fire. It also makes her wonder if the nickname 'Spitfire' was earned. :: ' And Dad thinks we're troublesome...* :: She makes an effort not to roll her eyes at Lillith's comment, and instead gives a friendly smile to Simon. :: "So you're the infamous Simon, huh?" :: She gives the boy a slightly dramatic once-over look. :: "Yep. You're definitely as handsome as your father." :: The word she was actually thinking of was 'adorable', but that rarely goes over well with mischievous young boys. Mimicking Lillith's smile, Julie gives the sorceress a conspiratorial wink. ::

(OOC: Go right ahead. Don't ask me where this fits into the timeline though because I have noooooo idea)
::Simon jumps down from Lillith's hip and stands in front of Julie, grinning broadly at her compliment::
Simon: My name is Simon Dante Avalerion. It's very nice to meet you Julie.
::He points to his mother::
Simon: She makes me say the whole thing whenever I meet new people.
And look at what good manners you have now because of it.

"Greetings and hello"

((OOC - I thought the FFT method was "RP now, worry about continuity later". Just as long as the storylines each keep it straight. )) :: Julie plays along with Lillith. :: "And it's very important to have good manners if you're gonna be a hero like Mommy and Daddy." :: Leaning closer to Simon, she whispers. :: "At least you don't have to rule a country like my Daddy. He has to work and be polite all the time!" :: In the spirit of setting a good example for budding young minds, she leaves out the part about Laguna ignoring both his work and protocol almost consistently. :: :: Julie stands up again, facing the source of the familiar voice. She smirks at Kenny. :: "You always sound so formal. Can't you just say 'hi' like everyone else?"

My Knight in Shining Armor.
::Lillith boasts to Julie before going to kiss her husband on the cheek::
Rose: Alright enough of that you two. The students are already through with lunch and if you don't hurry it'll be cold. No excuses, you can give Julie a tour later.

:: Julie playfully rolls her eyes at Lillith, but she's really happy that things worked out between the two. And still a little bit jealous. ::
'Maybe someday...'
:: For now, she doesn't want to ruin the moment by dwelling on past regrets. She's just enjoying being back with her friends, seeing how their lives have changed. Even the little details - like the lunch Rose seems to be so insistent on. And she brightens suddenly at the mention of students. ::
"Oh, is there anyone I know here? What about Iole... where's she?"
