--During the time of the Autumn Harvester, somewhere located near Fisherman's Horizon--
The crew are once again gathered in the messdeck, around their table. A feast has been prepared by Rafee to celebrate their latest catch. Fine liquire, food, and dinnerware has been set up for them to enjoy. They laugh and talk of times past and raise their drinking glasses in toasts of celebration for their accomplishments. For once, in a very long while, they appear happy. The cares of the outside world having not reached them this time around. Or so they think.
:Alert. Alert. Code Leto. Alert. Alert:
Vincent lets out a long sigh, his head smacking into the palm of his hand. Miguel continues to eat, acting oblivious to the alarm. Nahla gets out from her seat, looking up to the intercom. Rafee frustratedly leans back in his chair, looking annoyed. Nivzad takes one last long swig from his glass and slams it back onto the table. Tresk is the first one to speak, throwing his napkin onto his plate. "Captain? Shall I head to the bridge?"
Vincent nods, breathing out a slow sign of frustration. "Yea..." Vincent draws one pistol and tosses it to Tresk. "Take that. Nahla, check the upper decks and cargo bay. Nivzad, you know what to do. Rafee, check the crew quaters and storage. Miguel... MIGUEL!"
"WHAT!?" Miguel yelps, spitting out food from his mouth as he looks up in surprise. "I'm eating here, the intruder can wait!"
Vincent narrows his eyes. "Put down the food, or I'll put you down. Get a weapon and check the lower decks." Vincent stands up then, drawing his remaining pistol. "This better be a false alarm, I really hope. I'll check in with all of you, keep in radio silence till you spot something though, last thing we need is them. Alright, dismissed."
the crew scramble out of the mess, while Vincent just plops down in his seat, facing straight into the passage way that leads out from the mess. His pistol on his lap and a frustrated frown on his face. He takes a long deep swig from his drinking glass and waits.
((Whenever you want to Lillith, just got bored))

(OOC: Wow, haven't been here in awhile)
::With the wine glass raised in his face, Captain Vincent can't see what's directly in front of him until he sets it back down. Just standing there at the other end of the table, completely unassuming is a female that looks to young to be a woman, but too serious to be a girl in a simple black dress with stockings and boots. Nothing particularly striking about her deadpan face except for completely black eyes, lacking any whites at all, and long ghostly white hair::
Nyx: You didn't need to send your subordinates scurrying. I'm right here. And do you really think its a good idea to be drinking if there's an intruder?
::A glance at the gloved hands at her sides tell Vincent she's unarmed, but he knows very well that little fact can change with a twirl of her fingers::

Its clear Vincent is hesitant as to his former assassins intentions as she stands before him. "Tell me, should I be going for the pistol on the table or is this purely a social visit. Nyx? If my memory serves me correctly, I'm sorry if thats worng by the last time we met, I kinda got distracted with staying alive." Vincent eyes his pistol just a reach away, then Nyx, then the pistol. "Well, you're here and you haven't killed me yet, so have a seat?" He motions for her to sit at the far head of the table.

I prefer to stand.
::She says it very abruptly as she does with most of her speech, almost like her voice is automated::
And I'm not here to kill you. I operate on orders, and no such order has been given. Hostility towards you and the crew of the Hijrah was voided when the war ended after Lady was terminated. If it were different, I wouldn't have appeared before you so easily. I'm here seeking assistance.

"Fine, if you say so." A headache begins to form in Vincent's temples, he didn't like where this was going. "And how did I know?" He says sarcasticly. "What is it this time? Demons? Sorcerresses? Walking talking virus? Zombies? What?" The idea of grabbing the gun and just shooting the problem away crossed his mind but, at least he could hear her out then shoot her. Be the gentlemanly thing to do.

Nothing so grandiose. I'm actually here to ask if you've seen the Miss? My mirror broke on re-entry through the gateway and I'm unable to contact her or find out how to get to her. I fear her safety is in question.

Vincent raises a brow, slightly confused by Nyx's request. "The miss? You're going to have to clairfy that one for me. Which one of your ilk we talking about here and why are you so concerned..." His voice slows, he's starting to get more curious as to why Nyx has shown, something was up.

The Miss is Iole. I'm sure you remember her. She's rather hard to forget. I'm trying to find her because news from the other side of the gate leads me to believe a person of interest may still be after her.

"Ah yes, Iole. Last I saw her she was in Lindblum with Lillith and several of the others." Vincent takes a moment to take another sip from his drink. "Ahh, I believe they were working on some sort of strange serial murder case in the city but that was several months ago and I haven't heard from them sense. Who is this that may be following her? Should I be worried too?"

That sounds like the Miss. She has a disturbing apetite for danger, and yet no taste for violence. It's no one you know. There was a man who worked for the Lady named August Krasnow. Miguel may remember him. He was pushed through the gateway at Balamb at the conclusion of the war. Lady believed his intellect was too dangerous to be left unchecked after her death. I thought sending him through to where the demons roam would finish him. But I'm afraid I was wrong. Some time ago I learned that a man in the Demonic Wasteland fitting August's description was spotted and that demons had begun a sort of construction project. They've been restless and chaotic since Lady's death, so I believe something must have organized them to do this.

Vincent bangs his hand on his arm rest excitedly before pointing to Nyx. "Knew it! I knew it! Demons, hah!" He claps his hands together. "So, what does this have to do with me?" Regaining his composure, Vincent rests his hands in his lap. "It sounds like this August fellow is trouble, but I haven't heard of any demons lately over the radio or news. Last thing of any interest was a riot in Lindblum, I'm sure Iole and the others had a hand in that, no doubt, but that's hardly demons."

I think the demons were just used to make a gate for him to get back through. And if he's back, I'm afraid the Miss will be a prime target. The Lady betrayed him, with her dead, attacking the Miss is the closest thing to revenge he can attain. The Miss also managed to thwart his efforts in the past during the war. A man with an ego like that would be most displeased to discover that he was outwitted by a little girl.

Vincent thinks for a moment, seeing where this conversation is probably leading too but avoids bringing it up. "Well, then Lindblum would be the place start. Maybe this serial murderer business may even be related to this August too. Wonder if the others know yet? Have you tried to get in contact with anyone else yet, or is this your first stop back in our world?"

There are only two places in this world whose shadows I'm familiar enough with to jump through that I could think she'd be; here and the orphanage. But going to the orphanage would mean.... seeing Shaft.
::Her eyes avert from his for only a second, but in the next second she's all business again::
I've never been to Lindblum, so I can't shadow leap there. Would it be too forward of me to request transport? I can pay if money is an issue. But I'm afraid I only have Freyan currency.

Vincent runs his hands over his face in frustration, staying silent for a moment as he thinks. Then, when he puts his hands down he, in a non-threatening manner, takes ahold of the gun on the table and fiddles with it for a moment, rubbing the barrel against the side of his head.
"Somehow I knew you'd ask this and it's taking a lot of restraint to not react negatively but, because we're talking about Iole I'll go along with this request. I should tell you that it will take a few days to get there though, we are quite far at this point, is that alright with you?"

This is the fastest vessel I've ever come into contact with. I certainly couldn't hope for better transport. Shall I go inform the crew? I have somewhat missed Miguel.
(OOC: Heh heh that's what I love about this encounter. Nyx doesn't understand grudges, so she really can't comprehend why the crew would have it out for her if she's not been ordered to kill them)

"NO!" Vincent states, stopping her from doing anything that would get Miguel hurt. "I'll do that, just stay here, kay? I best... um let the crew know in my own way. I rather have you not overhear the objections. So just eat something or drink something, I'll be back shortly to get you."
Vincent slides out from the table, stands, holstering his pistol as he walks past Nyx. "I'll be right back."
After a few moments the intercom blares with Vincent's voice, telling the crew to stand down and meet him on the bridge. After a few minutes, Nyx can hear, even over the hum of the engines and through the metal bulkheads, the muffled sounds of shouts and yelling.

I wonder how it's going.

Vincent returns after a few minutes, looking rather stressed. "Ok, here's the deal, the crew has agreed to take you to Lindblum BUT only because this is about Iole. There are guest quarters on the 01 deck, room 7, that you may use." He pauses, sighing, his fingers rubbing the bridge of his muzzle. "The crew isn't exactly pleased that the one who nearly killed their captain is aboard, so don't expect anyone to be very friendly. We're just going to go there, drop you off, make sure Iole is alright then leave. Do understand the plan?"
