::Astaroth is in her private chambers, somewhere hidden within their uptown office. This is where only those who know their master's true nature are allowed. The researchers, the magicians, the sorceresses in Nu's employ, and a select few others. Here is where the healers are setting themselves to repair the blue demoness' body. One of them runs their fingers over a tender spot in her wing::
Astaroth: Idiot!
::With a twitch, the razor edge of her wing slices across his face::
Astaroth: Watch what you're doing, or it'll be something more valuable next time.

((OOC: And about my dark scion idea, those creatures are actual summons in FFXII, while the name I gave to the one that destroyed the original stones is also the main character in Final Fantasy Tactics, which is 12's prequal.))
"Calm yourself Astaroth." Nu said from his spot at the doorway. "They're my best healers, it wouldn't be prudish to threaten them while they're doing their job."

::Astaroth glowers::
I'll kill him next time, I swear it.
::She's about to say something else, but she gasps sharply, rolling her head back. When her eyes meet Nu's again, they're no longer their dull amber shade. Now they are the color of fire with slitted pupils. She says nothing, just looks at Nu expectantly::

::He stares back at her eyes before looking away:: "How far along are you at healing her?"
"We're done, all she needs to do is avoid using her wings to fly for the time being."
"Leave us."
"But sire-"
"LEAVE US!"
"At once."
::They all leave, with relunctance on Yami's part before she's ushered out by Kamikaze. When they're alone, he looks back to her, her eyes still the same:: "I presume I'm not talking to Astaroth."

??: Aren't we clever.
::The not-Astaroth says as she rises off the platform she was resting on::
??: Such a sad demoness, wrestling with pesky emotions that come to settle in. "Am I really just pretending to like her to keep her under control? Or have I really grown attached?" It would wrench my heart if I had one. It reminds me so much of my dearly departed daughter.

::Nu narrow's his eyes at Astaroth who was still possessed:: "Who are you. I know your aura is unfamiliar to be of Gaean decent, and you're not any of the gods I've heard of, so you must be of another realm."

::The demoness laughs a high shrill laugh::
??: Oh I'm more well known on Gaia than you think. Though it's true I hail not from it. It wasn't too long ago that I nearly made this world mine.
::As she speaks, she circles the room aimlessly, vanishing behind corners only to appear on the completely opposite side::
??: But that's not the story the people tell. No, much easier to believe it was all my daughter's doing. Ding-dong the witch is dead, drinks all around.
::She laughs again as she starts stepping up the wall to hang from the ceiling::

"Daughter? The only demons I've known in the realm are the one you're currently possessing, the half breed Inu and his daughter Eva, and the demon witch... So you're the one that made Natalia what she was. I should of reconized it, Jezebel."

::The possessed Astaroth spins on one foot idly while still on the ceiling::
Jezebel: That name, that wretched little name. To think that even gods can be thwarted by such trivial little things. But it has its uses. A true name travels faster into the hearts of others, much like it did for The Witch of Webs.

"Mmhmm... And you wonder why the Gaean gods and goddess choose to willingly name themselves." ::His leans against the wall by the door, his arms crossing:: "What honor do I owe to have you possess my subbordinate."

::Astaroth drops from the ceiling and hovers in the air right side up again. But she stays in the air without the use of her wings. She floats aimlessly from side to side::
Jezebel: It's like I told you before, you're going to fail. You're going to die. Look around you. The world is changing, heroes are few and villains are fewer. Those that remain are worming their way into this new world trying desperately to remain relevant. But you, yes it's almost sad to see you clinging to an ancient and withered power.

::His eyes close as he responds:: "That is your view and I won't argue with that. Everything is fated to die when their time runs out, even you gods and goddess aren't immune to time. I know when my time will end, but it won't be today but in the near future. But let me guess ::He opens his eyes:: you can offer me an escape from that fate."

Jezebel: Me? I'm evil itself. I've always found ways to adapt to this everchanging world. In the olden days I preyed on the people's tendency to violence and grew strong and prevalent in great wars. Nowadays as beauracracy begins to dominate, I find myself feeding into greed more. Even children are not immune as they lift themselves up in pride, preying on the insecurities of their peers. I'm everywhere.
::Astaroth turns into a screen of smoke that ghosts behind Nu where she rematerializes, resting a hand on his shoulder::
Jezebel: You'll die earlier than you planned. You'll die here near this very powder keg you've sparked. The Cetra will be too much for you this time.

::He did not flinch at her show of power, nor at the fact she was behind him:: "He might kill me, or I might kill him, it makes no difference to me. ::He turns around to her:: What are you purposing I do?"

Jezebel: Oh but you can be so much more than that. You can be more than this harbringer of destruction that you've been designed as. But not if things go as they are. It's not "he might kill you". He will kill you. You see, my daughter left him a gift that at long last allows him to surpass you. And it won't be long before he discovers how to use it. And with it, he'll undo everything you've worked these long centuries for in the blink of an eye.

"I see... Excalibur was indeed a fearsome weapon in Freya, but you would know about that since you had a hand in making it. But as it is now, a pale shadow of its former self in this world. But he has yet to overcome the darkness in it, why do you think he wears a purification stone, to inhibit your essence. And unless you have anymore to say, I'll have to end our conversation as I have duties to attend to and Astaroth needs to rest."

Jezebel: It's not the weapon you are underestimating. It's the wielder. That weapon draws strength from a source with power that will crush yours.
::She twirls her body so that she's in front of him now, backing away from him towards the healing table::
Jezebel: You will ask for my help before the end. I'm not done with you.
::She reaches her hand out to touch his face::
Jezebel: Of course, I can't force you to do anything. Good and evil are a choice after all. But you've invited evil into your heart so many times before, what choice do you really have?

"I'll know what choice to make when the time comes..." he replied. "And the reason I invited the darkness is because I can control it without it consuming me unlike the others of this world."

Jezebel: You think so, but then again so did all the others. Do you rule the power? Or are you ruled by it? Can you even tell the difference anymore?

"Sometimes I can hardly tell. My will is still my own, but I still feel sometimes my actions are not mine. But for me, it's a necessary evil for the time being."
