Edwin stood at the edge of the Farplane. He was searching for a soul.
An elder lost to the world. Her mind corrupted. Her soul consumed in a flame of her own making. Those who thought this woman was not responsible for her actions were mistaken.
Edwin took a calculated step to the left.
That woman I encountered... Foolishly searching for her past. Her ancestry. No concept whatsoever of what her past had become. All I needed was a piece of her...
Edwin took the etched vial in his hand. He had imbued it with many enchanted items he had either found or gotten that mage to enchant for him. It wasn't a hard task to break down a magic spell into component. Not when it was fresh.
My dear boy... I'm sure you will have mixed feelings about what I made you assist me with.
Edwin held the vial into the mass of souls.
"Come back to this side, milady! A new master has claimed you!"
The Farplane grew restless. A storm of spirits had begun to shake the very earth. One in particular, however, drew closer and closer to the vial. It entered it, and the vial began to glow a gentle violet color.
"Oh! It's a success. I had little doubt, but... Success is always lifting." He screwed the runed stopper onto the vial and lifted the now glowing pendant in front of his face, "You'll be much more useful this way. My dear Lily..." No explanation was made to the heavens for the name. It was possible that even the Gods did not know the reasoning in the jagged recesses of Edwin's mind.
Edwin has obtained the Violet Soul, a being that Edwin treats as a sentient being. It quite possibly could be one. Little is known of it's power, or of what Edwin plans on using it for.
