::August slides away from the table as the armor places the tray of food down. He then looks over to Lillith, his eyes obviously showing signs of aggravation coupled with exhaustion. He grits his teeth when he notices that the walking armor has disrupted some of his work drawn with chalk onto the floor. He rubs his forehead then claps the hand onto his pants leg.::
I believe I requested to wait for my permission to enter? Well, no matter. Thank you for the food.
::August stands and walks over to the book shelf, he skims the spines for a second then takes a tome and opens it before turning back to Lillith.::
If you're referring to the project, you know I can't speak of it at this time... as for its status however, the translations are proving tedious but steady. I have a lot of what I need to begin, a little more time for cross checking my work would be advisable but I could theoretically start in a day or two if need be. Just wary of a possible backfire, but of course this is never the most exact of sciences.
::He quickly scans the book in his hands, flips through a few pages then tosses the book onto his bed.::
But, if you're wondering about why I am here, thought I made that apparent when I arrived. Knowledge, Lillith, knowledge. What better way to understand my studies then to interact directly with it, actually get my hands deep into the matter. The best understanding of any art or science is to surround yourself with the object of your research, immersion is key.

::Lillith sighs as he drones the same answer he's given her over and over::
I know what you want to gain, what I don't understand is what you're going to use if for when you have it. Isn't there anything bigger than yourself that you're doing this for? What good will all that knowledge be if you don't have any bigger scale use for it? I can tell you're not exactly interested in our cause. So what exactly are you fighting for?

::August smiles a cocky smile and leans his back against the bookshelf, crossing a foot over the other all the while::
Can't a person wish to gain solely for themselves in this day and age? Or does there always have to be some secert ulterior motive?
::He adjusts his glasses for a moment, pausing in his speech.::
A scholar doesn't need a cause, just a commitment to learning and study. Perhaps I'll write my own book on the subject of demonology, occult, or this very little piece of history unfolding around us. Who knows, but I am just a one man who wishes to gain for himself and in time, one day pass my knowledge onto another, perhaps.
::August's grin grows slightly sinister as his teeth blar with a curil of the lip, it's a strange smile indeed. Odd and displaced, as intended for the single purpose of unnerving another individual. You could almost swear that his face grows darker and more defined, like a chisled bust against poor front lighting, it lasts only a moment and vanishes as he moves away from the bookshelf and to the bed where he takes a seat on the side of it. He cross his legs and picks up the book he had thrown down there just moments prior.::
Is there anything more you wish to inquire, Lillith?

Lillith: Yeah. Were you always this creepy?
::What he had said reminded her a little of Echidna. When Lillith had asked her why she had joined them her only answer had been "why not." It unnerved her how these people could be so cold::
Lillith: Have you ever cared about anything else?

::August chuckles slightly at the comment.::
What's wrong, does my demeanor disturb you? I don't see how I am any creepier..
::He gestures to the window, pointing at it.::
Then those creatures out there, the ones you help control. I'm not the demon here, I'm just a man.
::He puts down his arm, resting the hand atop the tome in his lap.::
And I care about other things, such as my former master who I apprenticed under as well as these books and the pursuit of understanding. I even use to take care of several birds, so yes I have and do care about other things. But what of you, Lillith, why are you here? I'm starting to slowly come to the conclusion that you do not agree with the methods your 'mistress' employs.

::"I'm not the real demon here." Those words strike a nerve with Lillith::
Lillith: The end justifies the means.
::She says it automatically, though she sounds more like she's trying to convince herself::
Lillith: I'm here because we were all promised a better future. I once fought on my own, but when I heard that we were uniting I had to join. Our lady knows what she's doing.

::August scoffs, amused by Lillith's rebutal.::
'End justifies the means?' That is a load of crock and do not tell me you don't know that, I won't swallow that easily.
::August's voice drowns down slightly as he flips open his book and begins to examine the pages more intensily.::
Seems you are the one who should be asking herself 'what you're really doing here', not I.

::Lillith's green eyes turn steely, but as scenes of things she has done since joining Natalia start going through her mind she can't deny that on some level he's right::
Lillith: Just finish the project. We have a deadline, remember?

::August pushes his glasses back against the top of the bridge of his nose::
That is my intention.
::He takes out a tiny note book and pencile and begins to transcripe something out of the larger tome.::

It has been several days now since I've begun work on this project and progress has been steady. Though I can't be certain the effect I will have until I actually implement the plan, I am certain it will work. Only a few more pages to translate and I'll be ready.
I also had an interesting conversation with the one named Lillith earlier. I get the profound impression she does not like or trust me, maybe even fears me but my interaction with her has lead me to come to the conclusion that she, and perhaps the other hierarchy of the Coven are in fact not Titans aside from Natalia and just bare the names of Titans.
It seems that Natalia has something planned soon, best finish the last of my translations before then.

::On Augusts bed is the strange. wraped object given to him for temporary safe keeping by Natalia. Though the desire to inspect it further burns within him, the ignorance as to her protection spells over it prevents him probing it further. Perhaps with more research and study, he could unlock them but not now.:: Much to my delight, I can report that the project has gone well. My research has paid off quite nicely and Natalia seemed please with the results, however this brings me to a most troubling yet exciting observation during the ritual. It appears that for a brief time, Natalia came under the influence, no, downright possession of another, more powerful entity. Based on my knowledge of her kind and the situation surrounding her world and the ritual, I believe this may have been the fabled “Jezebel”. I can’t confirm this though I do believe this is the case. Demonic possession of a demon by a demon god? Seems almost too good to be true.
I’ve done some quick analysis of the rubbing I made of the object given to me, I have yet to confirm its origin, its properties, or the meaning of the engravings that were transferred. I’m disappointed that I can’t study it closer but the demon made sure of that, I can’t risk dispelling the spells placed on for risk of them triggering. If felt more competent dealing with her magic, I’m sure I would attempt to break them, however with this new possession evidence coming to light… I can’t afford the risk.
I have no more news concerning the Gran Grimoire, but while the witch is away I may do some investigating of my own around the residence. I have a feeling it’ll be located in her private chambers if it is not on person. Either way, I am sure to gather more insight into the mind of this demon witch. Into the mouth of madness I go.

::Back from his excursion, August returns to his journal for a last minute update.:: The demon is more cautious then I’d first anticipated, though I did manage to circumvent her protection spells around the door, I must of failed to notice any backups. Thus from our mistakes we gain better understanding. Her room turned into a dead end, I failed to find the book or any hint of its whereabouts, but I still have plenty of time to search, though it will be much slower thanks to the watchful eye of the demon witch herself. On a positive note though, the more suspicious and watchful you are, the more likely you’ll end up the most blind. She’ll make a mistake and that is when I’ll be able to threaten her ‘king’.
On another sour note, Natalia has destroyed my rubbings of the object. I swore I thought I kept them in my pocket when I left but no matter, most of what was lifted I have already transcribed on the previous pages – incomplete yes, but not a total loss either. This journal is the one thing she could never touch…

What do you want?

::Turning from his desk, August greets Natalia. He shifts in his seat and cross his legs.::
No need to be so snippy, demoness. What I have to show you should change your mood quickly.
::August reaches back to the desk and grabs a tome from atop it and flipping it open, he quickly skims to a page and holds the book up to show Natalia.::
It's called a Rukanyr, what do you think?
::Detailed on the page is a demonic-beast, like that of a giant flea with twelve legs and a mouth that opens four ways.::
According to the book, it spans 500 hands high and 1200 hands long with a iron-like carapace and a horrible temperment. I believe I can bring this to our next 'party' with the ability to control it directly for a short time. Best yet and this is the real selling point, when control is lost, it won't matter because the creature cannot live for more then a few hours in our realm. It'll just dissolve when we're through with it.
::August smirks.::
How does that sound demon-witch? Your enemies will have one hell of a time dealing with that atop of everything else you can throw at them.

::Natalia takes a look at the page and says nothing for awhile. Then she looks at August with an unreadable expression::
Have it ready to go. We arrive at Timber tomorrow at Nightfall.

::August nods, content in her answer.::
It will be done, I also have a few extra things in store for Timber. I'll leave those till later. Don't want to spoil the surprise.

::Hours before the attack is too begin, August prepares one more entry into his journal.:: I presented Natalia with a new beast for her war-machine, she green-lighted it and I'm eager to summon the infernal monster. Strange though, she appeared less then excited about it. I cannot understand how anyone could not be thrilled at the prospect of bringing such a magnificent speciem into our world.
This brings me to my next observation, Natalia has grown more and more distant and cold which is starting to trouble me. Not that I fear her, she's still a demon, albeit, a powerful one but I can't help but wonder what she is contemplating in that corrupt brain of hers. Just in case things start going south, I have my own plan, a new seal I have been practicing. It worked on that displacer beast, hopefully, the rest will prove just as successful.

The summoning in Timber went without a hitch and I find myself pleased with my abilities, my time working along side this… demon, has proved most beneficial to my art. Yet, now, I fear something is not right in the air here. The demon witch has become more unstable and uncertain by the hour and my presence here may be at jeopardy. Though it’s tiring to do so, I must keep my protection seals up for the time being. I contemplate fleeing this sinking ship before it is too late but, there is one thing I still must see…
I had a run in with the one known as Shaft during the battle; he indeed has an aura of taint around him and would be most interested to study further, the question now being how? Perhaps at a later date, something could be worked out? So many questions left unsolved…

::No sooner has August finished his journal then the door is thrown open violently. Lillith stands in the doorway, dagger raised and pointed at him. Cronus is looming just behind her. Lillith's green eyes are ablaze with anger few think her capable of::
