Morgan, Aziah and the woman appear within the castle walls, to the shock of the soldiers.
"Halt!" Four soldiers surround them. "Explain yourselves!"
Morgan released their hands and stood from his stooped position (as he had to stoop to reach Aziah's hand.) "Kaipo's defenses have been destroyed. We fled from the inevitable Empire invasion. Please... Aid us..."
The soldiers seemed to mull it over...
"You'll be escorted to the infirmary. There, our white wizards will watch over your friend and treat your wounds."
Two soldiers took the still unconscious Aziah as the other two escorted Morgan and the woman up to the infirmary.
Upon entering, the soldier apparently in charge spoke, "We must report this to the king. I trust you won't cause any trouble." With that, they took leave. Aziah lay on a bed with white wizards on either side. Morgan and the woman sat at a table.
"So... I just realized we haven't introduced ourselves. My name's Morgan. What's yours?"
"Cara." she said in response.
They shook hands, awkwardly.
"So... What do we do now?" Cara asked.
"I'm not sure. I guess we should wait for that man to wake up, then ask him some questions..."

"Indeed..."
:A voice breaks their conversation:
"We do need questions. Is it true that Kaipo and Damcyan have fallen?"
:A soldier enters and sits down with them:

"Damcyan's soldiers were killed in a blaze delivered by the Empire..." Morgan responded, "Only a few seemed to escape death."
"The Empire may have already taken Kaipo..." Cara said, a touch of sorrow in her voice, "And Castle Damcyan is without soldiers... They will inevetably fall..."

:The soldier nods:
"We would help, but we're busy preparing for an attack on ourselves."
:He looks down:
"I'm sorry about your losses, were there any other survivors?"

"Very few..." Cara said, regaining her composure, "Those who weren't wounded were banding together in the school at the south of town... They probably won't put up much of a fight. Though that's likely for the better. The Empire may just spare their lives..."
"I wish I could've brought more here..." Morgan said, feeling guilty, "But teleporting too many more would've altered the results... We may not have made it. Using it on someone unconscious was risky enough..."
(OOC: I'm afraid my time is drawing to an end. I'm glad I got to further the story though. I should be back tomorrow.)

Aziah moaned on the cot as he regained conciousness from the spells being woven around him by the white wizards. His hand ached, and with each throb that went through it he felt his head pulse with it. He was having trouble putting together what had exactly happened or where he was. The first thing he remembered was he had been walking in Kaipo, in the street at that, then heat and darkness within seconds. He knew this didn't feel like no street. He laid there, wishing he had a strong drink. Deep down he already had the feeling he had been used, set up for ill gain and he was none to happy about it.
Aziah spoke from where he lay, his eyes not quite open but open enough for him to make out the shadows of those in the room while his eyes adjusted to the light. "Where.... where am I? What in the bloody.... hell.... happened?"
He lay there, the throbbing still as strong as when he awoke, as he awaited an answer. The pain was bad but it let him know he was alive, at least for now, and he was slowly adjusting to it.

"You're alright." A female white wizard said kindly, "You're in Fabul. They brought you here..." The wizard indicated Morgan and Cara.
Morgan and Cara approached the bed.
"If you could give us a moment..." Cara said, somewhat sternly to the wizards.
The wizards walked to the other end of the room, a bit annoyed at the tone Cara took.
"We didn't need them overhearing..." Cara turned back to Aziah, "As we asked you about the package you delivered..." The last syllable drug out with a stinging reverberation.
Morgan gave Cara a look, "You're being a bit harsh."
"I have every right to be harsh with him," Cara's voice grew more angry, but didn't raise, "He murdered the soldiers who defended my hometown and left it open to whatever the Empire wants with it!"
An awkward pause. Cara and Morgan glanced about. Nobody seemed to notice Cara's outburst, which was fortunate. The last either of them wanted was Fabul to find out that this man may have connections to the Empire.
"The package you delivered exploded and took out most of the town..." Morgan explained.

"You should be grateful for the fact that it didn't take all of the town out, or you wouldn't be able to lay blame or chide others for the mistakes of your own people."
Aziah sat up and stretched, testing the limits of his body. He was weak, drained, and sore still but he'd manage. He looked about the room, contemplating his next move before his eyes came to rest on the two before him. He knew he was partially, mainly, to blame for what had happened, but at the other end of the spectrum so were the soldiers and the lack of a solid security that would allow for a man to walk in with such a device and actualy be able to get that far into town before it went off. Shaking his head Aziah stood up and looked around.
"All I did was deliver a package I was paid to deliver. It didn't play out as expected, but I guess I got the job done I was intended for. Would either of you happen to know where I can go to get a drink to numb this pain and purchase a few items?"
I think I'm in need of a hasty, and yet quiet, leave of absence before things take a turn for the worse here. I doubt it would go over well if it got out I was the "delivery man" of that package. Aziah thought to himself as he swayed unsteadily on his legs.

Morgan looked worried.
"My apologies. I didn't mean to imply anything... I sort of guessed that you didn't know what you were doing... The Empire works like that." Morgan cast a cure spell on Aziah to ease his pain.
Cara stood with a blank expression on her face. This man brings about the fall of Kaipo, and he's lecturing ME!? And this bleeding heart here wants to forgive, forget, and help him? She shook visibly, then stopped. Stay calm... Stay calm... Maybe Morgan had a point... He does seem to be a dupe of the Empire...
"Are you alright, Cara?" Morgan looked over at her and asked, interrupting her thought.
"I'm fine." She replied.
"Well... okay." Morgan turned his focus back to Aziah, "As for where to get a drink... I couldn't tell you. I've only been to Fabul once. It's lucky I managed to teleport us to the right place."

:A man enters the room, dressed in a nice suit and tie. He stands over Aziah and looks at the others:
"Well I'm sorry to inform you, but Fabul is actually seeking refuge in the caves of Eblan. They intend on joining forces with them. They would love to stay and defend their homeland, but with their fleets they can move to Eblan faster than the otherway around."
:He places his hands on the table:
"Sorry to just spill my guts on that, but I've been asked to inform you of this and more importantly given the responsibility of asking you three to stay."
:He looks side to side to each person:
"The more help the better and we did confirm that the bomb Aziah here delivered was given to him via one of Sand's ranking officers."

Aziah looked at the new comer as he spoke. He ran the words through his mind over and over as he thought on it. He was sure the two would stay, but he seen little reason in why he would or should. He shook his head and started to walk away. He would think more on it while he had a drink.
"Thanks for the help. I'll be finding a drink while you three discuss business. See you around."
Aziah left the room and walked along, watching as people bustled about. It didn't take long for him to find something strong to drink, he had a nose for it. Sitting down he pulled out his guns and counted the shells he had in his pack. He had enough to make it for a bit, but if he got caught up in some messy business he would need more. Messy business was never his favorite hobby, but it seemed to find him much like he found women and booze. Next he looked at the remains of his sword and the coin he had on him, weighing if it was worth staying here or if he should leave and strike out on his own to find this fellow who had set him up.
I wish Jenny was here, or even that damn goody two shoes Summoner Infinity. They'd know what to do. Sh*t, even Leroy would be good right about now as I get the feeling some serious muscle would be helpful soon.
As Aziah remembered old loves, former allies, and his brother he ran his fingers along the sword. The world had changed, at least his had, and was changing yet again. He looked up sadly and stood, packing his things back into their spots, and turned to start making his way back to the room Morgan and Cara had teleported in with him. As much as he wanted to refuse and deny it, he knew he had made his mind up one way or the other.

The responses were mixed, but mostly compliant. Morgan felt almost obligated to assist someone asking for help. Cara wasn't all too keen on staying around in a place that seemed like it would be attacked, but... She hated the Empire as much as anyone in that room.
Cara spoke up, meekly (which is out of character for her), "I... I'm not trained to fight. I don't know how I can help... But I'll fight the Empire to the bitter end. Just give the order." She glanced towards the door. I'll bet that idiot's just going to try leaving... Not that the Fabul guards'll let him...
"I'm not much of a face-to-face fighter, myself. I'm more practiced with healing spells." Morgan added, "But I know plenty of offensive spells and would gladly use any of them, should need be. What do you want us to do?"

:The suited man heres a knock on the door:
"Alright, thats the warning call. All of the civilians have already left and they're loading soldiers. Either you guys are in or out."
:He looks at Morgan:
"I assumed you would.."
:He turns to the female:
"...we can arrange for a weapon of your choice and perhaps even a crash course if you'd wish."
:Looking at Aziah he sighes:
"I know you're not here for any other reason than being brought here....and I understand the only reason you were brought into this was for the money, but perhaps you should tag along until you find a better place to be. I strongly suggest you come unless you feel like defending Fabul on your own."

:The man nods:
"We can figure it out on our way."
:The door slowly opens and two guards stand on the otherside:
Guard 1: "It's time, we need to leave."
:The man stands up and walks over to the guards:
"Follow me...we'll discuss everything else on the way."
:He looks at Aziah and nods:
"I hope you make the right decision."
:The man waits w/ the two guards for the group to decide:

Aziah looks down and goes to follow, shaking his head and looking between those around him. He didn't answer the man as he followed. He figured it was plainly obvious that since he was following he was going to go along. He looked at Cara and smirked as he spoke.
"The most useful thing in a situation like this would be booze, a brain, and an incredible amount of luck. Since they can't provide two out of those three I'd suggest taking booze and a solid weapon that won't slow you down to much. Being able to hit hard doesn't matter when you can't hit fast enough."

"We're in." Morgan and Cara said simutaneously.
(OOC: I see her wielding a morning star, or a flail of some kind. Range and power, y'see! Oh, and no problem. I've been gone a couple days too.)
They followed the group. Morgan caught up with Aziah.
"We haven't formally met each other. My name is Morgan. I hail from Mysidia. This is Cara, from Kaipo. Who are you?"
Always trying to maintain good relations... Cara thought, already seeing a trend in Morgan's actions.
