I like to note ahead that some of this information are most likely gotten from my memories/what was told to me...
I remembered the day I joined Final Fantasy Dream as it was formly known. Reason being was that a friend of mine told me of his great "journeys" he's had in that site, which of course I mean when he using his character he made to RPs with other people. Because of this, I thought to could join in and get involved with his interesting "journey". However, as ironic it may seem, I never actually RPed in that site for the fact I did not have the slightest clue of how to RP back then. I had a great character profile and all, but never got to posting. So I sadly departed from the site and just listen to his interesting story.
A few years (like 2 years or so) has passed since my departure and some reason I had the urge to finally want to post in that site... only that the site didn't exist anymore. So then I asked that friend of mine if it is gone for good. He told me that two of the site owners had an argument and hence took separate paths. One of the sites owners got it right and called it Final Fantasy Xtreme... then later on it was changed to what I now know as Final Fantasy Tales.
Ok, to make a long story short, I finally posted, was welcomed by the unofficial "welcome committee" which we later become good friends, made another good friend from somewhere all the way in Maryland (I live in Califorina) which I still talk to as of now and which I actually asked in the board that I welcome any of those who would like to chat with me, and had made memorable moment... until something horrible happened... which I will not say. What I could say that the site went downhill from there and I never came back again...
Months passed by. From what I heard from my friend, people let go of the "incident" and the original site owner passed his leadership to the "next generation" if you put it that way. During that time, I kind of avoid them for certain reason... though I wished I could come back to talking with those two certain members... we had such good times... the only person from FFT I could talk to was from Maryland... OK, moving on. Later on, there was a lack of members and the board just had so many problems that they pretty much had to move to the new site owner's paid forum...
When I heard that happened, I thought of coming back in again (again for certain reasons partly personal to me and partly of FFT), but as someone else. I joined the site as the "dark side/other side" of my character for the fact that was the actual state I was in my real life (not due to FFT of course). Then, around the Summer 2006, due to the disappearances/lack of members, the return and disappearance of the original site owner, many spam bots, and very few posts later, the new site owner officially (and sadly) pulled the plug of Final Fantasy Tales, a forum/board that ran for more than 5-6 years (yes, that long)................
Or so they thought..........
You could say that this is a, in modern terms, last-ditch effort of doing something that could be possibly insane to some/certain people, but I feel that I cannot just let this die just yet. Yes, the new site owner had very good reasons for doing this but this forum/board was a place where people had so much fun and unexpectedly became like a big family as a previous FFT member said...
I have many other reasons but I have conflicted with other things at this point, but I know one thing for sure: this site deserves another chance and/or life out of this and the precious memories should not be forgotten. It would be nice to get the vetrans but seems slightly impossible at this point but a chance nonetheless. However, I do welcome the next generation of RPers to come in and enjoy it.
And that is the history of Final Fantasy Tales...
... and the welcoming of Final Fantasy Tales Rebirth.
EDIT: I take back of not being able to get FFT Veterans. With the help of Falion Silvanus, some FFT Veterans have returned. Of course, they will be most likely busy... nonetheless, some have returned. Thanks again to Falion Silvanus.
