::Lillith and Kenny found themselves in the control room of the Hijrah with Vincent and Miguel briefing them on what had happened::
So you're sure this was August's work?

Vincent sat lazily in his prominent chair situated center on the bridge.
"Demons, weird stitched creatures, Nyx with a blade in her side that was made just for her kind, yeah I'm guessing August. Unless we got a copy-cat." Vincent stated, swirling a glass of port in his fingers. "I'm doubting the latter unless you have any other theories?"

Just wanted to make sure.
::Knowing her for as long as he had, it was for Vincent to pick up that something was seriously wrong with Lillith. The way she spoke was hardened and all-business, nothing like the bubbly manner she usually had when they reunited. No matter the circumstances, Lillith had always been happy to see old friends. But when she had arrived with Kenny and Gideon, she hadn't even given them one of those hugs that they (particularly Miguel) had come to dread. And he had scarcely seen her remove her hand from the hilt of her dagger::
So what's your impression of this Lord Leon character and the Mage Knights? Can we trust them?

"There are days where I'm unsure to even trust you, and we like you here. How do you think we feel about this Leon fella and his knights."
Vincent took a sip from his glass of port, his expression serious and stern. It was clear he wasn't enjoying this line of discussion.
"Since you've arrived, I might as well tell you, there's been reports of attacks in Figaro and the surrounding areas. I bet you can guess what the reports have entailed."

Same as here I'd imagine. Figaro was one of the Empire's greatest enemies. They've been lending support to Leon's forces here in Tzen. It was only a matter of time before they were attacked. I think it's safe to assume August is working for the Empire, or at least that's what they think. But this is just one giant labaratory for him. A place where he can not only put his theories into practice, but completely unleash them and see their full capabilities. And I imagine the funding they're giving him is enough to make him piss in his pants. Did the reports say the attacks were successful?

"The reports are still coming in, last we heard was that the castle didn't hold." Vincent cryptic statement was met only with stalwart distance. "There were no signs of the Empire though, just August's toys. Maybe hes gone rogue, or maybe he's just toying with the political scene. Either way, things are not looking well in Figaro. Speaking of which, do we have an account for Gwen or that dragon prince? With everything that is going on, I'd hope they were being kept under close watch."
He refilled his glass from the decanter of port wine. "Now what of Nyx?"

::She only sighed::
There's really nothing we can do. Gideon's with her now, along with those healers. I don't think I trust them by the way. But if it's Gideon, I'm sure she'll be fine.

"Comforting to note." Is Vincent's reply, sipping the port. Tresk and Miguel apprehensively glance to one another, there's a tension here that chokes the air, and they feel it with each passing word. "I sold my last bastion of power in the Empire to Lord Noel for her and Tzen, I hope it won't be all for not."

::In the windowless chamber in the west wing of the fortress in an isolated tower Gideon's eyes swept the twisted trio before him. Everything about them made him sympathize with Nahla for keeping an itchy finger on her gun::
Enough games.
::He growled. The strange furred one called Nag snickered::
Nag: But I love games. Especially role-play. Isn't that why you were here? So we could play doctor?
::Both Thoth and Fay rolled their eyes::
You know who I am, and you know that I know what you are. So can we strip away the pretense?
Nag: I've never minded stripping before.
Fay: Enough Nag.
Thoth: Very well Immortal. As you wish. Then we can get down to business.
::The sloppy yet well dressed beady-eyed youth began loosening his already crooked tie and proceeded to unbutton his high collar. Fay unfastened the blue ribbon around her neck and began to do the same to her iron collared blouse. Nag licked his lips as his long blue tail swished to his neck and flicked the black leather choker from around his throat. Each one bore on their neck an identical symbol burned onto their flesh; a fire colored eye with black spiked wings on either side::
Fay: Satisfied now?

::Lillith raised an eyebrow::
And since when did you care about your standing with the Empire?

"Since it mattered." Vincent retorted. "My one holding is now gone, whatever happens next, I have no leverage. This is not a position I like to be in. In my line of work, leverage is all you have."

::At last Lillith took her hands off the knife, but only to fold her arms::
No one asked you to stick up for her or get involved in a fight with that dictator and his dog or stick up for Nyx. Maybe you don't remember but you asked me to come here, not the other way around. You dove into this one all on your own.

Vincent shrugged, "Nahla wanted chocolate, who am I to deny her that? But this isn't about confections, can Nyx be saved or do I need to turn down the ship's freezer?"
"Uh... captain?" Miguel interrupted, "Do ya have to be so cryptic about this? I mean, she is technically a friend - distantly."

::Both Vincent and Lillith's heads snapped to the Lemur's intrusion::
Lillith and Vincent: Stay out of this!
::Lillith turned back to Vincent::
I saw the wound, and it was his work. But I can't touch it. If it's designed for sorceresses whatever magic he put in there will affect me too. I can't say what the "three weird sisters" can do, but like I said, if it's Gideon, she'll be fine.

"Hope Gideon is as good as you suggest." He sips down the last remnants of the Port. "Know anything about these 'three sisters' you mentioned. They creep my out, and I knew Rafee won't even leave his quarters while they're around. He caught one glimpse of them and went running. Can't say I feel much different."

Trust me, after what he explained to me on the flight over here, he's not leaving that room without Nyx alive and well. As for those three, I know about as much as you do. I just know I got the chills when I was around them. Off hand I'd say they're dark magic practitioners like August. They destroy and warp anything they touch, including themselves into something unnatural. But whereas August does it in pursuit of knowledge, they seem somewhat immature and do it just for their own amusement to see if they can.

"Great, three little degenerates running around, following in the wake of August as if he were someone to emulate." Vincent rolled his eyes in disgust and slammed his glass down onto his chairs arm rest. "Think they're going to be trouble? I'm not opposed to just putting a bullet in each of their skulls if it'll prevent another August being spun and unleashed on this world."

Can't really say. Not something I want to get involved in right now. I'm still cleaning up the earlier generation's mess.

Nahla: So they have a couple tattoos. The furry one s covered in them. You didn't bat an eye at any of those... wait. I've seen that before
::Gideon scowled::
It's the mark of Jezebel. These three have a contract with her. Either her or one of her servants, it makes no difference. They're still her slaves.
Thoth: Harsh, and on your part a bit hypocritical. Are you not also merely a servant of higher powers?
Do not compare what I do and what you witches do. So what was it you hoped to gain with whatever power she gave you?
Nag: Gain? There wasn't really anything to be gained. It was really just to see if we could. That was such a fun night, the night she appeared to us. It was just as the man with the glasses had said.
::The creature swayed to Gideon's side and slung an arm over his shoulder, placing his lips uncomfortably close to the elf's pointed ear so he could feel its hot breath::
Nag: Tell me Immortal. Have you ever looked into her eyes? I have. There's so much darkness there, it's unbelievable. It's something you can never forget, no matter how hard you try. Ever since that night, Fay over there hasn't smiled once. And me...
::He paused before throwing back his head in a shrill nerve twitching cackle::
Nag: Well I just can't seem to stop.

"Please, Lillith, enough about the past." Vincent spoke with old disdain, cringing at the thought of all the past troubles. The adventures, though fun, weren't the realm of aging men such as he. "Us old timers rather just remember the good times, not the problems they brought with them. So, once this Nyx business is cleared up, where are you heading? After August I presume? Any clue where he's operating from? Oh!"
Vincent's eyes lit up and he turned to the keypad in his chair, with a few keystrokes, he brings up a GNN recorded broadcast. It spoke of the missing Tricuetical CEO, Miss Bardi.
"Heard Oliver and company was having some ill-fated run ins with her, thought this bit of news would interest you. Please tell me Oliver didn't have anything to do with that bit of - what I'm guessing - Kidnapping?"
