One would have to wonder, how exactly blitzball players can hold their breath for five minutes whilst crashing into each other and swimming about madly. But then again, who really thought about that when watching it was so distractingly fun?
The training/trial session was coming to a close, Siela was finishing off demonstrating her skills to yet another blitzball team thinking of recruiting her. While she had potential, the tournaments were coming up soon so they kind of needed more than just potential.
She swam out of the giant sphere of water and fell to the ground, deftly landing on her feet and heading out through the locker rooms, retrieving something from her locker as she went. Another uneventful day it seemed, she was having far more luck as a dancer than she was as a blitzer, but blitz was far too interesting and fun to give up on.
Siela idly juggled a blitzball around with her feet and legs as she walked out into the main ring dock still looking rather fired up from the training session. She'd almost gotten the hang of spinning the ball when she kicked it, an invaluable technique for a shooter that kept the goalie on their toes, except it was rather hard to master. She was also improving on how long she could hold her breath, so that was an added bonus, she'd heard of the blitz masters would could sleep underwater and the concept sounded incredible.
But for the time being, it was time to visit her mother, Siela had a present for her.

Siela nearly bumps into another on the main dock ring, the other just darting out of the way of the blitzball she's kicking around. Seemingly an unimportant event, except to say the unusual nature of this stranger that nearly wandered into a collision course with the young Blizter ((OOC: is that the term, been ages since I played FFX/-2)). He stops for a moment, shuffling the wayward ball back to her with a soft kick. "E'cuse me, lass." The presumably male creature states off-handly with an unusual accent, taking a longer then a moment gawk at the blitzball. "Inter'sting." He says off-handily, with a flick of his cylindrical tail, as if indicating interest. With that, he continue walking away.
Siela may find this creature interesting, similar to a Ronso in one respect, but extraordinarily different in every regards - lanky and lean. He looked not unlike something crossed with a rat and perhaps a predatory canine, like a jackal/wolf fiend. He stood digigrade, with gray fur and long pointed ears. His eye, as the other was covered with a dark-red stained yellow band tied diagonally over his head, was a brilliant blue. He also dressed like someone not from Spira, his clothes appearing to be of a different cut and design and having a very earthy tone, especially the coat. He's all very dark and gray in comparison to others on the main ring, standing out like a cold, gray morning in summer.

((OOC: Not sure meself, but it sounds good enough)) Siela blinked at first when she nearly collided with someone, her blitzball abandoned her for a few moments before the person nudged it back to her with a foot. She looked up and nearly fell backwards in surprise, her right hand shooting to a section on her pants near her hip where she generally hid at least one dagger, as she thought it was a fiend at first glance.
Yet... it appeared to be civilized, rather strange... A civilized fiend? It clearly wasn't human and it clearly wasn't a Ronso, very confusing. She casually stomped her toe on half of the blitzball and sent it rolling up her foot, flicking it into the air where she could catch it and tuck it under one arm.
While she was cautious about something that looked so foreign, civilized but didn't look like anything she'd ever seen in Spira, she was incredibly curious. "...Hey," Siela began following the strange creature, her curiousity getting the better of her, "Sorry I'm rude but, who are you?"

The creature turns its head, slightly wary, slightly curious but without a hint of annoyance. He looks the girl up and down for a brief moment, eying her for any malicious intent. He raises the brow over his one platinum blue eye, as if questioning this girls intention. He really appeared more amused by the girl's confrontation then anything else.
"Ta'k'in ta' me, lass?" He asks, turning to confront her. "Bit bras' an' c'eeky' of ye, ain't it? I cou'd be 'a bad man or'a fiend, for a'l ye know." He chuckles with a slight smirk. "I'm no'un, w'y ye ask?" The creature crosses his arms while resting lazily on his legs in a relaxed stance, his tail twitching slightly with every second, like a metronome. As he wait for her response, a small little sparrow lands on the creature's shoulder. Rather unassuming bird, except that it's eyes are the same color as the creatures. It hops along his shoulder, looking at Siela with the same curiosity that she has for the tall ratlike creature.

A quite tall adult man ran by the creature and the woman. He quickly stepped backwards beside them. "Are you guys here for the Blitzball trials?" He asked them. He seemed to be approaching his 30's . Clearly he wasn't here to play blitzball.
He looked at the odd creature beside the woman. "Very odd creature you are..."

"An' ye a very ru'e lil'man." The 'creature' retorts sharply, a snap in his voice. His eye flickering over to newly arrived individual, clearly unpleased by the humans blunt and rude statement. "If I amu'e ye so 'uch, w'y don'ya come ba'k in an hour, t'at's w'en t'e freak s'ow begins."
Clearly, just wanting to get this whole ordeal over with, the creature sighs and snorts slightly, cringing at all this undue attention. "I'm'a Burmecian," He forces out through his accent. "B U R M E C I A N. T'ere, ye a'l ha'py now?"

Siela leaned back a little into a more casual, lazy stance with her body rigid, eyeing the creature curiously since he didn't give her a real answer.
"I haven't seen someone like you around here before, you don't look like a typical fiend, and I can handle anything people throw at me, so I was curious," Siela said, hugging her blitzball idly as she conversed, though someone else had arrived and said something that seemed to upset the creature.
A Burmecian, absolutely no idea what that was but at least Siela had a name for this creature.
"I just finished my blitzball trials- what do you mean 'freak show'?" Siela said, quickly switching from the newcomer to the Burmecian, rather intrigued.

"Burmecian..." The man thought. "I used to know one before! He really was funny. He always kept little souvenirs with him everywhere he goes."
He pauses for moment. then continues on again. "Sorry for being rude. I'm Renilius Blacklips by the way. Just call me Ren." Ren was rather excited about meeting new people. Not all the people he goes to for deliveries were nice people.
He turns to the lady. "Are you one of the team players here in Luca?"

The Burmecian turns his attention back to Siela and smirks, amused by one of her states, 'you don't look like a typical fiend, and I can handle anything people throw at me'. He chuckles to himself. "Rea'ly now, lass?" He asks with a toothy grin, "We'l, hate ta' b'eak it ta'ya but if I were a fiend, I wou'dn't be let'in ye get t'is close before I snap'ed." He says the last word to a quick snap of his muzzle, teeth making a hard crack, like a bear trap being sprung. "An t'e 'freak show' was'a s'arky com'ent."
Still not locking eyes - well one eye, with Ren, the Burmecian nods. "Is 'ine, jus' ye wou'dn't go stare at a mang'ed limb wou'd ye? T'ink before ye b'urt out ye words. 'ible ta'ges atta'ked keep'in t'at up."

"Man, you are sensitive aren't ya?" Ren said. "Though you're accent really amuses me! You're the second Burmecian I've ever encountered, and still really exciting to talk to one."

"We'l I'm g'ad I can 'muse ye. T'ey mus'a 'eft a big impres'ion if ye can't reca'l w'at we 'ook 'ike." The Burmecian states, rather snark in his tone still. "Te'l me... Ren? Ye burn ye ha'ds or is t'ose ban'ages a fas'ion statement?" Nodding to Ren's arms, and pointing gingerly with one finger.
Ignoring Ren once more, the Burmecian turns back to Siele, eye falling upon the Blitzball in her grasp, then back to her. "So t'ats w'at ye ca'l it, 'ooked 'ike a 'sacar' ba'l, ye kick it a'ound in'a fie'd or sumt'in? Can't say I seen one of t'ose 'ere."

"You can say it goes like that, only inside a floating sphere of water." Ren says quickly. "I'm a big fan of Blitzball."

Siela jerked back awkwardly when the Burmecian snapped his maw at her, frowning slightly with a hand resting on a conceal dagger once more, a nervous habit. It was rather appalling, that something could have made it to Luca without finding out what Blitzball was, she was barely 7 when she found out about it, and she'd been sheltered her whole childhood.
She casually dropped the blitzball and kicked it straight up, coming back down to land perfectly ontop of her head, a small little movement ensured it didn't bounce off.
"I haven't got a team yet, been trying out for one," Siela replied to Ren, as he called himself, idly balancing the blitzball on her head before looking back to the Burmecian, "It's an amazing sport, you should check it out sometime right there in that stadium. In fact anything in that stadium is generally amazing, the concerts are my favourite."
She did love playing blitzball, so athletic and challenging, swimming around powerfully like some kind of fish, but she loved dancing more, expressing herself with such precise and natural movements.

The Burmecian watches Siela's finesse with the blitzball with increasing interest; she was indeed talented with it, reminding him of his street days with the other rapscallions playing in the gutters and alleys. He smirks with approval, giving her a subtle applause. "No'bad, lass. No'bad at a'l. 'ight I give ye sum'advice, lass." Casually, the Burmecian motions with a subtle movement of his hand to the spot where Siela kept one of her concealed daggers. "Ye a'ittle to obvious wit't'ose, keep concea'ed weapon's in p'aces w'ere ye can reach t'em wit'our hav'in to move t'e hand more t'en a f'ick. A trained eye," Taps the side of his one eye's socket, "can 'ee even t'e tin'est of moveme'ts."
He then changes the subject when Siela mentions he should stay and see the sights of Luca's stadium. "I wou'd but I jus'got here an' I don'p'an to stay 'ong. T'is p'ace is too warm for me an'way, mak'in me fur all i'chy."

"Stay here for a game!" Ren said at the Burmecian. "You might even like blitzball if you get to play it! C'mon, just one game!"

Siela's eyes followed the Burmecian's hand as he gestured towards where one of her daggers were kept, on the edge of her hip wasn't a great hiding place but that wasn't quite the point. "I'm no assassin, I carry weapons for defensive purposes, I've nearly been kidnapped seven times now, and I've encountered a few fiends," Siela said in return to the Burmecian's advice, adjusting the position of the dagger absently. She tilted her head back and let the blitzball roll into her arms again as she continued to listen to the Burmecian, laughing a little at his last statement.
"You sound like a Ronso," Siela said with a grin, before glancing at Ren with a nod, "And even a Ronso enjoys watching blitzball. What did you come to Luca for anyway if you're planning to leave so quickly?" She was being curious again but she didn't entirely care, she'd never seen a Burmecian before so she had no idea what went on inside their heads.

"Suit ye se'f," The Burmecian says with a shrug, causing the little bird on his shoulder to flutter up in order not to be knocked off, when it lands, it gives what almost appears to be an annoyed look to the creature. "An' I can't s'ay," He says, turning his head between the two for a breif moment. "Came 'ere 'ook'in for sum'une, o'd aquan'ince of mine 'rom t'e o'd country. On'e I fin't'em, head'in rig't bac'. T'is ain't a p'easure vist." The Burmecian was clearly being as vague as possible, having not even given them a name yet.

Siela's eyes brightened a little, maybe there were more Burmecians around that she hadn't seen, which could be possible in some ways she guessed, hers was an active life so she may have missed some things.
"That's too bad, Luca is the place to be for fun, there's all kinds of stuff happening here," Siela said, "Any reason you're keeping it secret? I don't really mind, I'm just curious. I myself was about to head back into the main town to visit my mother again." She figured if she was going to ask so much of this Burmecian she might as well give a little back for the sake of courtesy.

The Burmecian shot a devilish little smirk to Seila, showing perhaps that he was hoping she would ask this question. His eye shifted to look upon the sparrow on his shoulder, keeping that smirk well planted on his face
"We'l lass, if I to'd ye t'at," He says as he turns to look back to Seila, "I'd have ta ki'l ye. An' I'm not in't'e busine's of ki'l'in pret'y young t'ings such as ye. Now-" He slides his head to the left where Ren stands. "I may be wi'l'in to make an excep'ion for t'e burn vi'tim here." He jokes, though darkly.

Siela just grinned in response to the Burmecian's statement, at least he was good humoured about it. "Alright then keep your secrets, you sure know how to kill someone's curiousity," Siela said a little tartly, before giving a small curtesy, "It was a pleasure meeting you then, Mr. Secrets, I've got to go visit my mother and then get ready for a performance." She then turned to Ren and gave him small curtesy too. "Good luck with your blitzing Mr. Ren," Siela said courteously before beginning to walk away, idly juggling the blitzball again with her feet and legs as she did so.
