Name: Siela Sivora
Age: 22
Gender: Female
Race: Human
Affinity: None
Birthplace: Luca
Weapon: A dozen knives secreted in her clothes and an extravagant sword her father had commissioned for her.
Appearance: 5'6'', Siela has a very acrobatic and flexible build from her many years of dancing and blitz, her skin is a light ashen brown and she has vibrant yellow eyes. Her hair is actually a dark red blond, but in her line of work she's been dying it every colour of the rainbow to suit her performances, and much like her hair her garments change quite often, though they are no less exotic from one another with decorative usage of polished metal and completely wild designs of clothing. Though when she's as a blitzballer her garment is mostly a fitted, silver sleeveless shirt and loose black leggings that are belted a few times in various places around her legs, tucking into long, black, flexible, feminine boots that have a medium heel. She also has unattached sleeves she belts in place around her arms, they're mostly a collection of protective pads roughly thrown together to cushion her a little, reaching down her arms to her wrists. Her left hand has a fairly thick, long glove, but her right hand glove is rather thin and fingerless, she figures in case either her fingers or gloved fingers slip, she's got a chance to catch it with her other hand, and that she uses her left arm for blocking mostly.
Biography:
Siela grew up in the bustling city of Luca, heavily immersed in all the blitzball fans and concerts, but alas her family was much to poor to enjoy the glory of the great city. Her family barely able to pay for food and clothes let alone their house, Siela rarely if ever got to see her father, really only knowing he was still alive from the money he sent home. Her mother was always sharp to collect loose money, oft times begging in the streets to bring in a little extra money to try and keep their sorry excuse for a lifestyle stable.
Siela was an only child, so she often felt it rested upon her to help bring in money for the family, attempting to help her mother out since she had no idea where her father was. Although, her mother never allowed Siela to beg for money, not letting her daughter lower herself even in the slightest, it left Siela a little troubled as she didn't know why she wasn't allowed to help.
Her mother knew what happened when people started begging, she herself was left in a downward spiral, unable to pick herself up from this demeaning life she had been forced to take, and she refused to have that happen to Siela.
What with her mother being occupied most of the time and her father never home, young Siela often took it upon herself to explore Luca, hoping to find something that could help, anything at all.
At first she didn't think she found it, but she learned that soon enough as that fateful day came, changing Siela's life from that moment on.
A girl of only 7 years old, sneaked into the blitzball stadium one night, interesting sounds and music had drawn her to it, and her small size let her avoid the security guards to find out what was going on.
There inside the stadium Siela witnessed the most amazing thing she had ever seen, there were three women on stage, music roaring through the stadium, musicians flying around on strange machines playing their music, spot lights flying around on their own accord.
But those women, they were dancing so beautifully, flowing with the music, each of their movements definite and precise, yet seemingly natural like they weren't choreographed or anything. She just couldn't help but stare in fascination, the music, the atmosphere, the way they moved, it was enchanting and awe-inspiring, Siela desperately wanted to know to do that.
And so the young girl practiced in isolation for awhile, trying to mimic what she had seen and build up her confidence slowly. The crowds had enjoyed the concert so much, maybe Siela could help her family the same way? At least she hoped she could, her mother didn't let her do anything else.
She decided to sneak back into the blitzball stadium again one day after seeing crowds disappear inside, hoping to perhaps see the dancers again to help her teach herself. Siela was rather surprised to see the strange stage machine wasn't present, the stadium looked a little empty without it and the little girl felt rather disappointed. What could be going on if not another concert? Of course being so young in a poor family, she was never actually exposed to what blitzball actually was...
Man was she struck speechless.
Giant cannons on the stadium's floor launched incredible streams of water, almost looking as if to crash into the grandstands but it hit an invisible, spherical barrier. And just like that the floating sphere of water that was the blitzball field slowly filled up, right before Siela's awe-struck eyes.
Seeing this nearly rivaled that of seeing the dancers, she remained there for the entire match watching in a cloud of wonder as people started swimming around in the sphere, throwing around a funny ball.
Siela was hooked, this stadium was like a vessel of dreams and she really, really wanted to be a part of it.
Siela didn't have a great deal of courage at first, but when she took her practiced dances to the streets, she drew quite a lot of attention and in turn, a modest sum of money for her performance. There was something about how the little girl danced that made everyone smile and watch, she wasn't a brilliant dancer but she was having fun, and it showed in how she moved.
Her mother was a little surprised to see her young daughter bringing in money so well, but at least her little Siela wasn't lowering herself to begging, so she was content.
A few months passed, and Siela's life was a lot more active, frequently dancing and swimming, slowly taking up singing much like the woman she had seen on stage, she spoke a lot more actively with her mother, telling her the wonders she had learned.
And much to her surprise, after some time her mother had given a present for her birthday, the first present she had ever received, and it was a brand new blitzball. Until now Siela had never been able to practice properly, she'd never even touched a blitzball.
Over time she received more presents, her mother saving up the money Siela had earned to buy her quality dresses and training clothes for blitzball practice, doing everything she possibly could to elevate Siela out of poverty even if it meant leaving herself behind in the gutter.
And over time, both their efforts paid off, Siela gained more attention and money, and her mother spent all the money Siela gave her right back on her daughter, no matter how much Siela tried to have her mother use it to help herself.
Many years passed and Siela had moved out into a new house, attempting on occasion to buy her parents one too, no matter how stubborn she was, her mother was even more stubborn. Siela gave up after awhile, a little sad that her mother wouldn't let her help now that she actually could, her performances had become dazzling and she was getting good enough at blitzball that some of the teams were taking notice.
Her singing had also picked up a lot, she had trouble building up the courage to bring it to her dances at first, though eventually it melded in subconsciously that she ended up singing along with the musicians that often followed her around.
Also as a side note, she had started practicing some self-defense, as on occasion there had been attempts to kidnap her, and to be safe in case she ever came across any fiends, so she quickly grew proficient with knives, learning how to dance with blades in combat as much as with cloth on stage.
It also seemed after such a long time, a long wrapped gift arrived at her door, with her father carrying it. The gift turned out to be the most extravagant sword Siela ever laid eyes on, though she was by far more happy to see her father again than to receive a weapon, obviously her father had become a little worried about her and got her a proper weapon to defend herself. It had taken some time for him to build up the money, but he managed it, he made sure he managed it for the sake of his daughter's safety.
She learned that day her father had gotten work in Kilika, so she finally knew where he was to visit him, only a ship ride away.
Since then the sword has been mostly a memento from her father, she finds time to practice with it but is a lot more proficient with her knives.
Special Abilities:
Her dances can influence a variety of effects on people, simply changing how fast she moves can affect others in kind, slowing their thoughts or speeding them up, she's slowly learning how other techniques of dancing can affect people.
