::Alicia gives Treys a condescending smile, the way she's looking over her glasses giving her the appearance of looking down her nose at him::
Astaroth: You're the Regent's dog aren't you? Get the payment from his fat wallet. I'd be happy to vouch for you.

The coolness returns to his expression. Treys Auller was no one's dog. He quickly caught himself and spoke matter of factly. Despite that, his words carried a hint of seriousness that showed those hearing them that he was no longer taunting.
"I'm afraid I must insist."
He subtly fingered two gems, ready to use them to call in his aid. He might have to show this upstart her place in the matter. He figured no one in the employ of the Regent would have the gall to attack him openly.

::Alicia grins and steps closer to him::
Astaroth: You aren't my problem. The girl is coming with me as per my orders, and you will head back to your employer carrying the news in your mouth like a good boy as per your orders. Then and only then will you be payed. So I suggest you take your fingers off those lovely little baubles you think I can't see. Okay pumpkin?

Anger flashes in his mind, he begins to signal his men into action, then stops. He calms himself and considers the situation rationally. Rash action didn't get him to his position of power, careful planning did. Even if he wasn't paid this time, he could use it as leverage in future dealings. Yes, he thought, this encounter wasn't worth the effort. He steps aside with an exaggerated bow.
"All yours milady. Though you should be careful when provoking dogs, they can only take so much before they bite."
With that, he whirls around and begins to walk away. He doesn't get far before he's intercepted by one of his men, a larger, more burly fighter, who begins to whisper to him. Trays' back is to them but his face flashes from shock to exasperation. He sighs deeply then turns back to Alicia.
"It seems you won't be rid of me that easily. Me and my men are to assist you with the rest of this operation."
His smirk returns.
"Well, this is an interesting turn of events. I guess the Regent didn't think your men were up to the task here."
He shrugged in a mocking fashion.
"In any case, let's be on with this. I have two rather large paychecks waiting for me. And I do hate to wait to collect my profit."
He ends with a grin.

Galeon just laughed to himself as Alicia and Treys spoke to each other, Treys almost at her throat and then turned only to come back on another set of orders.
..Hostile bunch of characters around here...
He smirked as he looked back to Jas.

::Alicia on the other hand is done speaking to Treys. Instead her eyes seem to be getting friendly with Jas who's gaze is locked on hers::
Astaroth: That's right. You just couldn't resist a peek into my head. I had a feeling it was you Jas.

::He didn't show any sing of emotion on his face, but his mind tried to probe the woman infront of them, only to come up against resistance:: Whoever she is, she's good. Not that many can block my mind reading. She's either a servant of a god, or a demon. ::No one noticed his eyes flash for a micro second before returning to normal. What he saw of the girl surprised him:: Galeon, I think we're dealing with a demoness, but don't react. We need more information.

::Meanwhile, the girl in Galeon's arms starts to squirm. She rests her head against his chest, but when she feels that it's unfamiliar to her, her eyes snap open and look around desperately. When they land on Alicia, she jumps out of Galeon's grasp and scurries to her side. The seceratary pays little attention to her though, still transfixed on Jas:: Astaroth: It's been a long time Jas. Nice to see your memory's returned. But that telepathy of yours is so much weaker than I'd hoped. I suppose the Witch of Webs really did a number on you.

Astaroth: It's not important. I'm merely a humble servant of the powers that be. But you've already figured that out haven't you? Those are one of the better disguises I've seen by the way. Little Iole didn't even have the decency to wear one.
::She smiles casually, and in the midst of the noise of gunfire still ringing out in the next street over, this woman seems very out of place::
Astaroth: Is this the part where you and I fight an epic battle of swords and sorcery and the hero climbs out victoriously against all odds?
::She laughs and waves her hand in a "nonsense" motion::
Astaroth: My poor ancient Cetra. We simply don't live in such simple times any longer. The days of heroes and villains are fading faster than the city around us.

Powers that be? She couldn't mean... "Let me guess, that perons you serve is Nu, isn't it?" ::She saw him making no move to go for his weapon, he realized it would be meaningless to fight now::

Astaroth: That's what I find so charming about you heroes. You're all so self centered. Anything that goes wrong with the world today, you all assume it's your archenemy coming to get you. If you were Rainii Loire, you would have guessed Natalia. If you were Lillith Domani, you would have guessed Guinevere. Galeon over there has probably already guessed Jenova. And I suppose Loci is usually the second one on the list seeing as how everyone had a bone to pick with him. But you need not fear Jas. My master's intentions are not as fixated on you as you might think. In fact he's starting to find you heroes so irrelevant he's this close to burying the hatchet altogether.

"Is that a fact..." ::He and Galeon grasped their swords hilts, but a explosion prevents them from doing anything. From behind, the sounds of gunfire start to get closer to them. This distraction allows Astaroth and Yami to dissapear while they weren't looking. When they turned back, they were gone::
"What in the hell just happened? How did she know about Jenova." Galeon said.
"Nu must of been watching everything that has happened from the shadows." Jas replied. "That how he works. He observes before he strikes. If he's indeed invloved in this, then we're in deep trouble. But I don't know how far this goes. But with her knowing, our cover could be blown before we even got a chance to start."

Galeon blinked as he let go of the hilt of his blade.
" Well then...She could give us some trouble..."
He thought for a second.
" Wait...Whose Nu...I'm sure I've herd his name before...Whether it was from you or from Jenova I can't remember...."

"You heard of him from me. Nu was Jenova's creator, designed to kill any remaining Cetra. But in truth, his true creation was the virus inside her that acted as a mutagen. As you can plainly see, it's virus failed in that purpose, not all of my kind was killed or turned into monsters. And seeing as it failed, he would have no further use for her, all we did was do his dirty work for him in killing her."
