Lillith finds that what is in her hand is little more then a single gil, perhaps dropped by whoever was up here last or kicked up from the pebbles by the same. It doesn't appear to be anything special, unless you're a magpie.
Just then, there's a rustle from the fire-escape. "Hey, find anything?" The Sargent's head pops up from the side, putting his hand on the side to pull himself up and over the short wall, he cringes at the blood that just transferred to his palm. "Oh... god... yuck..." His head tilts to the side and is quiet for a moment, paused in time as he stares at the little bloody wall. There, beside his newly created hand print, is another, left by someone that was on the roof from eariler. "HAH! Look at that! Bastard left a handprint!" He turns around to Lillith and Kerion. "Great find, how long were you going to keep this from us, you tease! Can't wait to tell Ames..." His expression changes from excitement to puzzlement. "A gil? Ohhhh flipping a coin to see who gets to tell the good news." He japs a finger point towards them with a grin. "Oh you two, alright, we got the best find yet. Come on, let's pull Ames away from the media, we got it all cleared up down below."

::Lillith feigns a smile for the sergeant as he makes his way back down::
We'll be right there.
::She slips the gil into her pocket, wondering if that might actually be of use. She notices the reproachful look she's getting from her mostly silent body guard::
What? It's not like that. I'm not that petty. Maybe I can use it to track him somehow though. Maybe it can help me scry for him.
::She leaps over the edge of the rooftop and floats gently back to the ground. She dusts off her clothes::
So, what do you think the old windbag is going to make of all this. The hand print and the change in the MO I mean.

*Kerion jumps after her, the wind he fired from his gun slowing his decent until he lands next to her* "Don't know. But knowing Ames, he's going to want this wrapped up as quickly as possible. But I still got the vibe that there's more to this than what we're being told."

::Lillith raises an eyebrow at Kerion's statement::
Figured that out all on your own did you? You're a hired gun, excuse the pun. They don't expect you to do much around here except take orders. And I'm a sorceress. Ames has made it very clear where he stands on that one. Not to be too blunt but let's face it, we're not the most popular people in this city.

"That won't be necessary Mr. Kerion."
Captain Ames' voice sounds as pompous as ever, and the look on his face says that the press conference did not go quite as well as he would have liked and his patience is wearing thin.
"The sergeant has already given me the details of your... little escapade on the rooftop, as well as informed me of the other murder at the library. Your services on this matter are no longer required at the moment. Now if you're quite through making a spectacle of yourself, would you kindly return to where you belong, away from police business."

::Lillith glowers at the Captain::
Hold it right there Captain. I think we have a right to know the details of this investigation. I'd like to be present when the fingerprints from the two crime scenes are matched up, as well as assist the symbolist with the sign that Dante found at the Library. Clearly it was occult, and as such lies in my area of expertise. I won't allow myself to be used and then tossed aside like a gardening tool. I don't have to help you, you know. I have a school to run.

The captain rounds on Lillith.
"Need I remind you sorceress," The word is clearly meant as a slur, "that you are here by your own choice. We only asked for your assistance with the family of the first of the deceased. Having a personal vendetta against the killer of the child you've no doubt fantasized of taking under your wing, does not indebt me or the rest of the force to you whatsoever. You will be called on when and only when we feel that you may be made useful. Continue to interfere and I will have to take measures. Need I remind you that you were once considered an enemy of the state? Those charges have been cleared and stricken from the record, but... well" an insufferably cocky smile forms on his lips "the past does have a way of coming back now doesn't it? I can only imagine what would happen to your school. Keep that in mind."
He turns to Kerion next. "And you, see to it that you are doing your job keeping her safe. And by that I mean safely out of the way." He turns to leave, but remembers something else he feels needs explaining. "As for the report, I'll give you the details of the evidence when I have it. Or moreover, when I feel the need to give it to you. Your friend Mr. Shadesang has proved to provide us a fresh new lead, I'll give him that much, but I'm afraid any further involvement on his part is forbidden. If you want my opinion, that man belongs in an asylum." And with that he leaves the scene, not leaving any room for argument.

Relax. You're not the only one.

I don't really trust him either. Wonder what Dante would think if he'd heard what he just said about putting him in an...
::Something strikes Lillith just then and the strange symbol Dante recovered is pulled back into her mind::

::She fists herself in the forehead a few times::
We've got to get back to Dante. I just remembered something.

--A short while later--
The Constable summons Lillith and Kerion to his office, which is ripe with the smell of a meat-pie, emminating from a chair in the corner where Oliver sits as he voraciously scarfs down such the source of the smell.
Already there, beside Oliver and the Constable, is Dante, already with his strange find resting on the Constable's desk. The Constable stands to greet the two who just entered.
"Excellent, I heard already about your find on the roof. Just the breakthrough we've been waiting for. We matched it up quickly with the fingerprints we found in the professors' office. A close match, for a partical, but none the less the tie we needed. I'm still trying to figure out what was the motive for killing the poor man but we'll get to that later."
The Constable picks up the picture with the unusual sign in yellow.
"We need to figure what the significance of this is and what does it have to do with the 'Autumn Harvester' as the media is labeling him? Oh..." he lowers his voice, "and don't worry about Capt. Ames, I'm keeping this little meeting on the down low. Right then, so any ideas?"
((I threw you in the room guys cause I want to get this thing rolling, fun times are ahead soon.))

::Lillith can't stop herself from patting Oliver on the head, despite how he may resent that. She looks back at the Constable::
Thank you, we appreciate that. Has the symbolist come up with any results yet?
::She decides to keep her new lead to herself. If she's right about that sign, things could get very complicated. She's glad she can trust Dante if the need arises. She's wary of telling Kerion, but he seems honorable enough as a friend. She just hopes that if she needs to tell him, he'll be able to choose friends over duty::

"No." The Constable shakes his head. "I haven't given it to him yet, once he sees it, Ames will be the first notified of any discoveries and I'm hoping to beat him to the punch. We're also still waiting on the autopsies to be completed, figure I'd hand it over after that, keep the Captain idle just a little longer." The Constable grins with a childlike devilishness as he leans back in his leather chair. "So, what do any of you make out of it. I did notice a spark of familiarity in your eyes, Lillith, when you first saw it."
The fat man lets out a bellowing laugh, in good nature. "Didn't make it to Constable without being able to read people. Its a gift in my line of work; so what do you make of it. Certainly nothing like I've ever seen."

"Hey! I'm eten here!" Oliver exclaims in protest when Lillith pats him on the head. His face distorted in a disgruntled sneer as he takes another bite out of his meat-pie. "Eveyone treatin me like a lil'kid they are..." He mumbles under his breath between bites.

::Lillith looks away from the Constable for a moment, debating whether or not to give this sort of information to a complete stranger. But if he's keeping Captain Ames out of the loop, that's good enough for her::
Alright, but I'd prefer it if you keep this off the record. I'm not even a hundred percent on this, but anything is better than nothing. I have this friend... well not really a friend. More like an ex-colleague. We worked closely during the second sorceress war. When the war was over, she lost her mind and another friend of mine had her institutionalized. She wasn't really all their to begin with and the war just sent her over the edge. I went to visit her a few months back. She's taken to drawing these horrible little sketches. I don't remember most of them except that they were graphic and morbid. But one thing that did stick out was a certain symbol. I'm not sure if it was the same one, but it was all over the notebook's pages.

The Constable nods in understanding as Lillith speaks. "Uh-huh... uh-huh... Well, that's a better lead then we had a minute ago. Wish to follow up on it? Perhaps your mad friend can shed some more light onto this mystery; maybe you're more connected to this then we could of thought. Knew bringing you on was the right idea! Where is she institutionalized?" he pulls out a document from his desk and taking the pen from its ink-well prepares to write upon it. "I can give you warrant for any confidential patient/doctor information you may want, be sure they don't give you any trouble during your investigation."

::Lillith's green eyes are so wide that someone standing twenty feet away can clearly see the cat like slits in them. This is better than she could have hoped for. She's not used to people being so quick to trust her. But she has to remind herself that she usually works with teenagers::
It's a mental clinic in Dollet. That would actually be a huge help if you could do that for me. I'd really prefer to speak to her first and make sure before the police did anything official. I especially would prefer it if Ames was kept out of the loop as long as possible. I don't suppose that would be too much to ask?

Dante overhears the conversation about Lilith's familiarity with a sign. Could she be referring--... I was wondering what happened to "her" with Iole took "her"..."Well, it is better than nothing. Let us hope "she" is cooperatively of this." He wanted to ask Lilith if "she" had any thoughts of getting back at Eva again as he still had an odd memory of Eva falling from the sky. It felt that did not exist or happened... but really did... somehow. But hearing how "she" is, it was best not ask at the moment. He turns to the Constable... "I thought to curiously ask if the professor had family... maybe assuming if they found something unusual about the professor's routine on a certain day before his murder. Just a thought... And on a random note... who is this Captain Ames? Sounds as though he is a prick hard man to deal..." He rubs his head a bit... Oh god...Well, he sounds like it through the body and sign languages of everybody in this room... like, look at Kerion. I swore I saw a sweat drop after he heard the name, "Ames"!Maybe because he is just sweating?Fine, assume that

*Kerion leaned against the wall and listened in on the conversation, glad for once Ames wasn't going to know about this meeting.* "Better he isn't informed about everything." *he continues to listen in, but if Ames decided to have a 'talk' with him, he wouldn't mention the meeting. Although Ames hired him, he felt if his employer was keeping secrets, he would keep his own.*

"Keep the paper to use at your digression." He finishes his scribbles upon the parchment, takes one last look at it, then hands it to Lillith. "And don't worry, I'll keep Ames occupied with other matters."
Swiveling in his chair, he turns cockeyed to Dante. "Captain Ames is... a very driven man. Can be a bit rough around the edges, also think he's a Icosagon, so that's lot of edges." He laughs at his own horrible geometry joke. "So when do you plan to depart? I think we can spare some extra traveling expenses, under the table of course, if you need it." He tilts his head to the side, looking over to Oliver. "What shall we do about him, I'm wary about keeping him on the streets. Could be a target now, but I know Ames won't approve keeping him here. In fact, he's probably not safe anywhere in the city now that he keeps popping up where the bodies are found."
