((Just couldn't think of any other way to describe it. Sheesh!)) The chair swivels around slowly, allowing them to get their first good look at his face. He seems unaffected by Lillith's childish hotheadedness and speaks in a refined manner. "My name, young lady, is Captain Armand William Ames, Captain of Lindblum police, and Chairman of the bureau of affairs of state, as well as adviser to the imperial guard, and you will address me as such. We hired this gentleman for your own protection, because it was decided that should you be admitted onto the case, you would be a liability. And how would that reflect on our fair city if the Headmistress of that so-called Garden you run in the Cape of Hope was murdered in cold blood on our streets? I assure you, we only have your best interests in mind. Although it seems that this not-so-sharpshooter is as incompetent as the rest of you."

::Lillith steps up to his desk and leans over it to get nearer to the man's face so he can see her strange cat-like eyes clearly::
The rest of us? What are you trying to imply Captain?
::She already doesn't like this man, and she can't help but feel that the way he mentioned how unfortunate it would be if she was killed sounded very much like a threat::

Captain Ames looks away from her, apparently uninterested in humoring her any longer. Idly, he picks up a double edged letter opener off his desk and begins running his finger along the blade.
"I've heard about you, Sorceress Lillith, yet another of those supposed 'heroes' who are always saving the world from one atrocity or another. It's a pity that you can never seem to keep the world safe. Every time you think you've won, another threat sweeps into power under your noses. But this isn't like your pretty escapades. This is police business, and I cannot have you mucking things up with your overzealousness, like those sparks you fired into the air a few short hours ago. Did it occur to you that in doing so you may have not only alerted the culprit that we're tracking him, but that there is a sorceress involved as well? You may have very well spooked our albatross into hiding. You will do well to remember that you are working for us in official police business, and that you are not to go off playing the hero on your own again like you did tonight. Doing so could compromise out entire investigation. Now I suggest you go back to your quarters now and get some sleep. Master Kerion, you as well. Good night.

*Upon hearing that remark about him being incompetent, Kerion's face was visible with rage, but he controlled the urge to pull his handguns out and fill his employer with lead* "Yes sir..." (But if I find out your hiding something important, you'll be staring down the wrong end of my Punisher) he thought as he turned around and ehaded to the door.

--Sometime in the morning--
A manila folder is brought to Lillith in her quarters by a bellhop, dropped off by an officer. Inside it details the crime scene and autopsy of the victim. In a bit good news, it appears they found their first solid clue, a partial footprint left in the blood. It indicates that the one behind the murders is a male, around six feet in height. Nothing else was left at the scene and interviewing with the three gang-members who happened upon it lead them to deduce that the murder took place in a time frame of under twenty minutes.
The autopsy revealed that it was again the same pattern, strangulation till unconsciousness followed by three stabs to the heart in the same elliptical pattern as the previous murder. Once again, the murder weapon was as before, a two-sided smooth edge dagger. The organs removed in this case were the eyes and tongue, the removal of the eyes was done in such a fashion that the nerve received little or no damage. The examiner notes that this would of been an extreme feat of surgery in the time allotted to the killer and in the dark alcove the murder took place in.
On the back cover of the folder is a note attached from the Constable, explaining his apologies for the behavior of Captain Ames and regrets not notifying her about the trailing. His hands were tied in the matter, he explains. He also mentions that a press conference in front of the police precinct will happen later today and requests that she attends.

::Lillith turns the letter over in her hand, wondering what exactly to make of it::
A press conference? I hope they don't want me to speak.
::She reads the letter again and calms down some, deciding that they just want her to be there to get what she can out of it. The police are probably trying to keep her involvement top secret. It's not something the press should really get a hold of. She dresses quickly opens the window to let Melanie out::
Go on ahead. Just make your rounds and report back to me soon.
::Then she makes her way down the hall to where she learned Kerion had been staying. She knocks on the door and he answers, still in his nightclothes and half asleep::
You, get dressed. I've been invited to a press conference, and I'm going out to get some work done before I go. I figured I'd make your job a little easier and let you come with me.

"Alright, just give me a minute." He replied before closing the door. *After a few mintues, he comes back out fully dressed, his trench coat held over his shoulder* "So, get anything off those reports they sent to you?" He asked as they walked down the hall.

::Lillith shrugs::
Well it looks like we... I mean Captain Ames,
::She doesn't bother to hide the disdain in her voice at that name::
picked up our first real clue. We're looking for a male, probably around six feet. Of course that could be anyone in Lindblum. They said it was a serious feat of dexterity with the way he surgically removed the organs. He really knew what he was doing. So we should probably try looking for either a surgeon or some kind of scholar who's studied those fields. He's probably has a thing for the occult judging from the way the murders have been performed.

"Sounds logical." Kerion replied. "I'll have my contacts check if there has been anything happen like this in the other major cities. We might find a connection or might not. Better than not checking."

--Later that day, at the press conference--
Oliver and Dante arrive shortly before the press conference is about to begin and already a large crowd has gathered outside in front of the police precinct. Set up on the steps is a podium with a mass of press surrounding it. Sphere cameras from GNN are there, all ready set up for filming. Several newspapers are represented as well, as displayed by badges and hats. Behind that line of reporters and press are the regular citizens of the city, all gathered in mass to hear what the police have to say about the new terror that is plaguing the city streets at night.
Oliver runs up the the back of the crowd and stands on his toes, trying to see over the crowd. "Ah, move! Can't see!" He sways from side to side, trying to get a better view. "Bloody 'ell... no use." He turns around, look of frustration on his face. "Oinkers up ther, good luk gettin there now."

Dante nods. "All right, thank you Oliver..."
He goes through the crowd, trying not to push hard enough to a point of uncomfortable. Ugh, I just want to get in! This is as worst as Yuna's unexpected concert!
He groans of his annoying thoughts until he is about close to the precinct. Out of the crowd of citizens, press, and reporters, he finally reaches the front of where th podium is which behind it was the entrance to the precinct. He walks all the way to the end side of the crowd, leans against the wall while walking to avoid any attention from the crowd... though they seemed more focused on the podium than anything else and finally reaches the door. He opens the door slowly into the precinct, walks in, and close it quick. "*sigh*.... peace and quiet. Now..."
He starts to walk around inside the building... now a bit confused on where to report his incident and finding... Ugh... I had to come in a time during a killer's spree. What luck am I going to find someone familiar here??
... why am I stuck with this?
Stuck with what?
... nothing. Just feel like I am losing my touch a bit through all this commotion at the moment.
He takes observance of this unknown place to find where he could report.. or anyone who knew where or what was going on at the moment.

::Lillith isn't at all surprised to see that Captain Ames is the one speaking at the conference::
There he is, the pompous windbag himself.
::She smirks a little in Kerion's direction::
What are the odds of you taking him out with your gun?

"Once again, there is little to worry about," Ames drawls out the same answer he's given about a hundred times now, "the police have the situation well in hand. We do however, advise against walking alone at night."
Another reporter with a hat and badge with pen and notepad at the ready is called on. "What do you have to say to allegations that the police have enlisted local street gang; The Shawnkills?"
"As always, the Shawnkills are acting on their own accord and will be dealt with should they obstruct our investigation."
Another reporter tries to speak up. "Could we have your statement on the MO of this killer?"
"I'm not permitted to release such details at this time. Next question please."
"Do you have any suspects yet?"
"None that are not already dead or incarcerated. The latter's names are being withheld for their own protection. Next question."
A younger reporter in the crowd with a hand-held tape recorder holds the speaker to his mouth first when he asks the question, then points it at Captain Ames for his answer. "There have been reports that the Lindblum police have called on Sorceress Lillith to assist in this investigation. If you recall, said sorceress set up a school recently and named it Leah Garden, which sparked quite a bit of controversy that year. Any comments on her involvement?"
The Captain narrows his eyes at the reporter, but only for an instant. It's apparent that this information was something he'd rather have left out. "The Sorceress was called on for assistance for questioning a relative of the first victim. Her expertise in childcare made her an ideal candidate, and necessary for the situation. The police does not associate with anarchists. She has no further involvement in the case."

(OOC: Sorry for taking control of you Kerion. But Loci totally set me up for this)
::Lillith's eyebrows twitch in annoyance and her gaze darkens, as does the lighting around her for only a moment::
Anarchist? That's it.
::Without warning, her temper snaps and before Kerion knows it, he's in a grapple with her over his weapon::
Give me the gun! GIVE ME THE GUN!
::Kerion puts his hand over her mouth and places another around her waist and proceeds to drag her to the back of the crowd before she can garner unwanted attention::

((OOC: No worries Lillith.)) "I'd say they're rather good." *Listens to the part Ames made about Lillith's kind* Uh-oh.Give me the gun! GIVE ME THE GUN! ::Kerion puts his hand over her mouth and places another around her waist and proceeds to drag her to the back of the crowd before she can garner unwanted attention:: "What are you trying to do, get us both in trouble?" he whispered to her as he pulled here away. "If you promise to calm down I'll let you go."

::Lillith struggles a little more until she gradually stops fighting. He feel her sigh. He sets her back on her feet and she appears to be in cotrol of herself::
Alright. I'm fine now. I won't kill him.
::There's an wicked little glint in her eye, and Kerion notices her raising her finger. Electricity charges visibly around her hand as she makes her thumb and forefinger in the shape of a gun. She giggles with an evil edge::
See how you like this.
::Kerion finds himself grappling with her again::
Come on! Just enough to shock up his hair! What harm could that possibly do!

By the way... you're in no danger from me, but I wouldn't grab me like that again. Let's just say I have a boyfriend who can be very... protective.

::Kerion and Lillith are approached by Melanie before they can get too far. The raven swoops down and perches on Lillith's outstretched hand::
Hey Mel. Any sign of Oliver?
::The bird points its beak in another direction. Lillith turns to look. Oliver is on the fringes of the crowd. If she hadn't known what to look for, she might not have noticed him, even with her enhanced sight. But what's he doing here? Something else catches her eye. Standing next to Oliver is a man who she's surprised she didn't notice earlier with his outlandish taste in clothing. It isn't until her eyes meet the man's face that she recognizes him::
Dante?
::She takes off after the pair in a run, forcing Kerion to sprint to keep up with her. She meets up with the two and smiles at them. The raven flutters onto her shoulder::
Odd company you're keeping these days Oliver. Dante, long time no see.
