:: Laguna grins at Morgan's mention of a distraction, and maneuvers deep into the ranks of those still fighting the forces of the Order to make his offer. ::
"I think we can help with that. Ward?"
:: Ward nods and takes out a small remote-like device. He presses the single button on it, and a beeping sound comes from inside the Ragnarok. A ramp lowers from the docking bay, and a large armored vehicle rolls out. ::
Ward: "......"
:: Laguna nods ::
"Right. Between the attack here and us driving this thing into town, I think you'd be able to get in unnoticed."
:: He sighs wistfully ::
"Too bad we haven't had time to fix weapons to it..."
:: After a brief pause, he shrugs ::
"Eh, well... maybe we can use it to evacuate the injured."

:: Julie immediately shifts closer to Morgan and Cara. ::
"I'm coming! I... want to help..."
:: Laguna overhears her, and interrupts ::
Laguna: "Hold on, Julie! You sure you don't want to stay back here? It might be... well, a little bit safer..."
:: Julie frowns, suddenly raising her voice ::
"What about the people in there that can't defend themselves?!"
:: Laguna smiles, admiring her determination. But just because he's given up on talking Rainii out of danger doesn't mean he'll give up quite so easily with Julie just yet. ::
Laguna: "That's why I'm going in. You don't think I'm driving this thing everywhere, hm?"
:: He pats his machinegun and smirks. ::
Laguna: "You coming, Ward?"
:: Ward shakes his head ::
Ward: "......"
:: Laguna nods ::
Laguna: "Alright. You stay here and keep an eye on the girls for me."
:: He turns to face Morgan, not even bothering to ask if he agreed with his plan. ::
Laguna: "Just let me know when you're ready."
:: Julie seems upset, but doesn't say anything further. Outwardly, she seems to rejoin the fight against the newly arrived Black Deaths, but those who know her well enough might notice that she has another plan to go through with her original intentions. ::

"Dearie," Iris murmured to Julie, once again, using speech that made her seem thirty years older than her listener, "I just wanted to let you know..." She broke sentence to fire an icy bolt at oncoming Death, "I adore the mischieviousness going on inside you!" She smiled and winked, then faded off to the left, where she would find more targets.

"Ah... Well..." Morgan stammered, then regained himself, "Okay. We should get going, while they've still got their attention." Morgan prepared with Laguna and Ward, while Cara, once again, just blurted something out, "Don't forget, Julie. Without enough here, they can't defend themselves either." With that, she joined the other three and awaited their mission into Jidoor.
"We're ready when you are..." Morgan said.

Clerian was torn. Here was Julie, left to defend the Ragnarok's position while Laguna and Rainii went off to help Jidoor. On one hand, he was a man of fighting talent - obviously suited for the hectic atmosphere that would no doubt surround the city rescue. On the other, he had the urge to stick behind and help Julie.
"Rainii's in good hands with Laguna and his crew..." he thought, "And Julie has the silent one with her..."
Just then, his decision was made for him. Laguna and company headed out, the Ragnarok flying overhead by remote to drop off the armored vehicle.
"That's that, then," he told himself, heading towards Julie with both gunblades at the ready. A Black Death came swatting at Clerian mid-way, to which the ex-SeeD quickly leaned backward, letting the blow swipe through the air before rising with a slash that cut the demon almost in half. As the Death twitched in response to the injury, Clerian took another swing - finishing the job and splitting the thing into two halves.
He wasting no more time in getting to Julie, arriving within seconds.
"Looks like I'm here as your support," he said calmly, turning away from Julie and watching for incoming enemies, gunblades at the ready.

(OOC--Umm...I wasn't going into Jidoor. ^_^ ::Rainii mentally wills those going into Jidoor to hurry, because while she was confident in the skills of those around her, they couldn't hold up if things got really bad, and they got swarmed. Still, they weren't doing to badly now--maybe, hopefully, things would stay this way until the rescue was complete.::

[OOC: Gah. Sorry. Things are all over the place and I could've sworn I saw someone say you and Laguna went toward Jidoor.]
"Hey big guy," Clerian said to Ward, "Could I trouble you into giving me a lift?"
Ward was taken aback with confusion for a moment before Clerian pointed toward a large group of Deaths approaching in the distance. Ward nodded and held out his enormous arm. Clerian sheathed one of his gunblades to retain an open hand and grabbed onto Ward's.
Ward lifted the ex-SeeD onto his shoulder before pushing him upward into the air, sending Clerian toward the mass of Deaths.
Clerian landed with a spin, cutting back a few enemies and giving himself some room to move. Battle ensued and Clerian's plan to take their attention away from Julie and Ward succeeded. Now, he only had to fight hard and kill any who got in his way.

:Ski watches out another window near Chamber and scoffs:
"They're gonna get slammed soon!"
:Ski pulls out a cig and slips it into his mouth as he watch Chamber stealy take aim at more attackers coming at the crew on the ground. He cracks off successive shots an sarcastically glances back at Wierzbowski:
"...well maybe you should quit bitching and start shooting!"
:He grins and turns back to the window. Ski grins as he lights the cigarette and sets up his rifle in the window. Sniping certainly wasn't his forte, but he agreed inside with Chamber. The battle hardened soldier takes aim as Chamber had and begins firing. More oncoming attackers fall at the feet of Clerian and the others:

"What will we do to get them out?" Cara asked.
"Well... I think Jidoor still runs on chocobo... I wonder if they have wagons to wheel them out..."
"That'd be silly, Morgan. Why would they wheel the chocobos out on wagons?"
"That's not what I meant... Laguna, can you think of a way to evacuate them? We can't exactly squeeze them all in here..."
Cara: What about the injured, Morgan?
Morgan: Um... Well, I'll try to heal as many as I can, but... ... Where could we take them?
Cara and Morgan continued to bicker about the little things as they all got into the vehicle, and left the transportation in Laguna's hands (In retrospect, may turn out to be a mistake, but... ^^).

Jenova appeared behind the group and smiled.
Thought you guys could use some help...The other group did not end up needing me so I thought I woul dbe more useful here.
He unsheathed his swords and waited for a large group to come and attack them to spring his surprise onto the group.

((OOC - Nice, Clerian! Ward's useful, isn't he? )) :: She tries to keep it to herself, but Julie is pleasantly surprised at Clerian's decision to defend her. Of course, it wasn't exactly out of character, but it still made her feel just a little more special. :: :: Trying not to let her personal feelings distract her from the battle, she fires her last shot into the enemy ranks. The flashy lightning charge manages to distract the Deaths long enough for her to reload with the special magic ammunition she uses occasionally. With Clerian keeping the bulk of enemies away, and Ward covering her, she has no problem loading the clip and going right back into the fray. A powerful wind elemental shot is the next fired, blowing a mass of three Deaths away. It doesn't do much direct damage, but it keeps people safe on Julie's side of the battle while the Deaths recover. :: :: Meanwhile, Ward continues to do what he does best. Impaling enemies by throwing his giant harpoon. Julie keeps an eye on her self-appointed bodyguard as well, using uncharged bullets to cover him when needed. ::

If it weren't for Julie's occasional cover shots, Clerian probably wouldn't have fared so well. The battle in the Imperial Capital was against regular soldiers - weak ones at that. This was a totally different kind of fight. The Deaths were fueled by some unnatural malice, stronger than a normal soldier and as twisted as anything the Isle Closest to Hell could show.
The ex-SeeD managed to hold his ground, taking down a Death every so often, but they kept coming. If it wasn't for Julie's back-up, he would've been swarmed. As it was, however, he managed to find a good balance in how many Deaths occupied themselves with the thought of Clerian's demise as opposed to how many charged Julie's position.
"I...always..." he let out between movements, parrying an attack and ducking under another, "...loved...a challenge..."

"Hm... if there are any you can't heal right away, we can take a few injured on board. Other than that, wagons sound like a good idea. You think they have some?"
:: The vehicle shakes violently as it gets underway, having hit a deep crevice in the ground. ::
"Whoa! Alright... easy... there we go..."
:: It quickly stabilizes, and Laguna breaths a sigh of relief. ::
"Heh... might need to look at the shock absorption when we get back to Esthar..."
:: He drives deeper into the town, while enemy attacks barely dent the heavy armor. ::
"At least the armor's good!"
:: He glances slightly towards Morgan. For now, he has the vehicle heading for the locked-down chocobo stable. Which, coincidentally is big enough to drive straight into. ::
"So, how do you want to do this, Morgan?"

((OOC: Okay, I've waited long enough. )) :: Somewhere near Iris, a blast of blue flame catches one of the Black Deaths, and is immediately followed by a chain whip strike. The bladed weapon it carried falls to the ground. :: :: At the other end of the whip is Melaina Tien-Bastet, her eyes glowing with the same fierce blue fire. Magical energy actively flows around her, blowing her hair back and out of her face at all times. She glances at Iris briefly, as if she hadn't even noticed her there at first. :: "Huh. I think I just saved you." :: It's an oddly personable comment coming from Melaina, and she immediately turns away to concentrate on fighting more Deaths. The other woman fighting near her is all but forgotten. ::

(OOC: Big post! ;D Sorry if I moved things fast. Feel free to do likewise Laguna! ^^ By the way, do we use World of Balance FF6 map or World of Ruin FF6 map? I'm assuming WOB, since the Southern Continent still exists.)
"Let's see how the public's faring, first. If they're not panicking, this'll go a lot easier..." Morgan glanced outside, "Woah! Watch out!"
The vehicle crashes through the gate of the stable. Fortunately, all the chocobo's were penned. The worst they got was a sudden scare. Now halted, Morgan regained his train of thought, "Well... I guess that worked out."
"Does this town have leadership?" Cara asked, "Maybe they'd have some ideas, or even knowledge of evacuation procedures."
"If they did, they would've exercised them by now, I'm sure..." Morgan replied, "Plus, trying to find the town heads would waste too much time." He redirected his speech to both Cara and Laguna again, "Well, we're in the stable now..."
"Yes. You are..."
The voice, which came as a start to the group, came from the back of the stable. A young man, average build, average height, dark hair, wearing a plumed hat, a cloak, and leather garb. A long whip was affixed to the left of his hip.
"My name is Gabriel. I'm a visitor in town, working off my stay as a temporary stablehand." He approached the group, "You're with that group right outside of town, aren't you? The airships that landed."
"Yeah, we are." Cara said, "We're here to get the town's occupants to safety."
"Great! I'd say the people here aren't very capable. Rich and useless."
Morgan decided to fill him in on the plan, "Well... We thought we could evacuate most of them using chocobo-drawn wagons."
"So I heard... That should work... If the snobs here can bear to part with their antiques... South would probably be the best bet. The Opera House is safer than Zozo. I'd be happy to set up the wagons."
Morgan clapped his hands together, "This could work, after all!" He turned to Laguna, "Let's start by getting some of the townsfolk here. Once Gabriel here has the wagons set up, one of us could ride one around town and pick people up."

Melaina's presence, however, was not lost on Iris. She glanced back, and let a small smile out. Turning her attention back to the Death who was almost upon her, she drew her scythe and lashed straight ahead, blinking behind her attacker and firing an aura bolt into it's back. She battled onward.

Jenova looked around at the group of hereos fighting their way through the Deaths and what not. He smirked and began to laugh.
" Enough is enough..."
He then summoned a group of Deaths, Blight-Hides, and more of the Councils creatures.
" Attack them, do not under any circumstances let them escape...kill them all, and I'll let you have their remains."
He then looked at the group trying to get a wagon set up to pick up townspeople. As his large group of creatures ran past him a group of Red-Coats stopped beside him.
" Wait here for a second with me...we shall see how things go and when need be you will all go and kill whatever you can."
He smirked as his army of creatures reached Rainii and the rest of the group and began to attack them all.

[OOC: I'm apparently lost at this point. Since when was Jenova a member of the Council of Jackals and when did she (scientifically, Jenova was genderless, but was attributed as a female, ex. "Mother", "she", "her", etc.) have the power/authority to summon their minions? Did I miss a plot point or something about that? ]Clerian glanced over to see that his plan had run its course. Their numbers were too great for he alone to curb, and it was futile to try to fight the growing swarm around him by himself. Sheathing the gunblade in his right hand, he clenched his hand into a fist and focused for a spell. In an instant, he sent the palm of his hand flat into the ground and waves of fire erupted out in a ring around him. About half of the Deaths were killed, while others were severely injured by the blast. Clerian wasted no time in making his tactical retreat. He sprinted toward Julie's direction, bounding off the face of a grounded Death for momentum. For the most part, his brief run was undisturbed, as the enemies were mostly single-minded. The young ex-SeeD slid forward, sending his gunblades in large arcs in both directions, cutting a few Deaths down as he arrived in front of Julie and Ward. "A little tougher than I expected," he said calmly, rising quickly to engage the oncoming enemies.
