(New revision, making use of information from Dirge of Cerberus.)
Name: Lucia Valentine
Age: 24
Gender: Female
Race: Human (theoretically, 1/4 monster hybrid)
Affinity: Shadow and Holy
Birthplace: Technically Midgar, but was conceived and now lives in Nibelheim
Weapons: Quicksilver handgun, dark-elemental "Shadow Blade" sword, holy-elemental "Lightbringer" sword, Materia dagger
Appearance: 5'6", with a slim and fit build. Lucia has sleek shoulder-length black hair, and used to have red eyes (her fusion with her seventeenth experimental clone has changed the color of one eye to blue-green). She is most often seen nowadays wearing a torn skirt over black shorts, white blouse, thigh-high boots with a three-inch heel, and a tattered black mantle (which closely resembles her father's red version).
Biography:
The original Lucia was the daughter of Vincent Valentine and Lucrecia Crescent from an alternate reality where she was the subject of Hojo's experimentation and Sephiroth never existed. Her battle skills largely resembled Sephiroth's, but her personality was that of a refined, polite, and friendly young lady. When in battle, she would shed this persona and become a hardened warrior, but it seemed that she was more herself when not in battle.
In her first life, Lucia's Jenova cells were in a constant state of flux. She would have a voice in her head at nearly all times, and sometimes it would take full control. She eventually learned to harness and control some of these powers, growing a black feathered wing from her right shoulder when using them, but was eventually consumed by Jenova. She died at the hands of her lover, Zion Strife, before Jenova could force her to do further harm.
Lucia returned some time after her supposed death, completely purified of her Jenova cells and Hojo's handiwork. How she came back is a mystery, though Lucrecia being integrated with the Lifestream at the time may have had something to do with it. During this time, she searched for clues to her memory, and even found a way to return her mother Lucrecia to life, with her father's help. Vincent had also secretly assisted her before with clues to her heritage. Clues to her missing memory were left to Zion, Knight, Muja, and a new friend - Nevaeh Crystal. It was later revealed that some of her memories were taken from her by Lucrecia to spare her undue pain. This new Lucia used one of Vincent's old handguns and a dark-elemental blade which used to be her Masamune. She also displayed her father's ability to transform into one of multiple powerful forms in battle, when in a critical situation. One form in particular worried Lucrecia for some time, and Lucia once overheard her mother mention something about a "fragment of Chaos" and "Protomateria" to Vincent. Lucia was naturally curious, but was unable to find out any more on the subject.
When Lucia had recovered what memories she could, her personality, mannerisms, and nearly everything about her remained at least slightly altered. But she was still accepted by her friends, regardless. It was after this that she and Zion discovered Lucia XVII, one of many clones of Lucia's original form, working as a waitress in Nibelheim and using the name "Sev". Since Sev seemed to be the new main host for Jenova, Lucrecia worked to find a way to separate Jenova from her. But she was not able to do so before Sev, and the other sixteen clones, were called to a new "Reunion". Fortunately, Jenova wasn't able to take full control like she had with the original Lucia in the past. Lucia's Chaos form, inherited from the combined powers of her parents, managed to separate Sev and Jenova in the final battle at the Northern Crater. Vincent, Lucrecia, Zion, and Muja had all been involved in the battle, but Lucia disappeared with Sev after Jenova's destruction. No trace was left behind.
Lucia and Sev both awoke in another world, a place called the Farplane. Lucia's body was severely mangled in the blast after the battle with Jenova, and Sev chose to sacrifice her own body to regenerate her. The Jenova cells were negated by Chaos, but the process locked away Lucia's Chaos form for the time being. When she finally woke up, she was wearing a strange variation of Sev's waitress uniform, and had one blue-green eye. Her sword had also gained the ability to transform between the dark Shadow Blade and the holy Lightbringer, but she was otherwise the same Lucia Valentine she had been ever since the original Jenova was purified out of her.
But the world had changed. Most of Lucia's closest friends had disappeared - Zion, Knight, Nevaeh, and even her parents. Muja was probably still around, but Lucia hadn't seen her in some time. She wandered the world a bit, but found herself without purpose. She realized then that most of her life had been spent attempting to destroy Jenova. Now, all of her friends were gone, and it was just her and the looming threat of whatever remnants of Jenova may have survived this time. More importantly, though, her body was beginning to show small signs of deterioration due to the haphazard fusion of her original body with Lucia XVII's. Purposeless, and facing eventual deterioration, Lucia placed herself in a regenerative sleep in the basement of her home, the Shinra mansion. She has recently been awakened by the invasion of Nibelheim by a Jenova host, Galeon Chaos... as well as the return of Zion Strife. Her form seems to have mostly stabilized, but even if there is further damage to repair, Lucia has found herself unable to return to her sleep as long as Jenova still remains inside at least one living host.
Special Abilities:
- Flight/Teleportation: Lucia has been able to levitate herself and "teleport" reasonable distances within each world ever since her second incarnation. She probably inherited this ability from her father.
- Fire Slash: Lucia's Shadow Blade or Lightbringer glows with a flame surrounding the blade. A slash directed at an enemy fires a wave of Fire elemental energy.
- Lightning Slash: Lucia's Shadow Blade or Lightbringer becomes electrified with lightning. The wave of energy produced by this technique is a Lightning elemental.
- Shadow Strike: The Shadow Blade's natural shadow energy is increased, making the blade look like pure darkness. A huge blast of Shadow elemental energy emanates from the blade of the sword.
- Holy Strike: The Lightbringer's natural holy energy is increased, and the blade glows with an almost blindingly fierce light. The blade is used to launch a blast of Holy elemental energy.
- Elemental Attack: Lucia's weak but useful Materia dagger can take on the aspect of any basic element when used to attack. Shadow and Holy elementals are unusable with this weapon.
- Ultima Strike: All the elements of the Materia blade combine for a massive Ultima strike. Very draining on the Materia dagger's natural energy, and usually the blade can only handle two Ultima Strikes before it becomes useless for some time.
- Limit Transformation "Galian Beast": Lucia transforms into a purple beast with fangs, and long horns and claws. The Galian Beast is a Fire-elemental creature. It can attack with claws, exploding fireballs, or a massive fire-charged Ultimate Berserker Rush. Its strongest attack will return Lucia to her normal form.
- Limit Transformation "Electra": Lucia transforms into a volt-blue gelatinous lightning-based female humanoid. Electra's arms and legs are able to morph into spikes or blades for her physical attacks, or into groups of wires for her electrical attack. Her devastating Electra Combo, which uses her arm as a lightning-charged blade, will return her to her normal form after use.
- Limit Transformation "Masquerade": Lucia transforms into a masked female human in a strange gown. Unlike her other forms, this one is non-elemental. Masquerade usually throws cards with random damage, healing, or status effects. She can also generate a special gas which causes opponents to hallucinate as an escape tactic, or utilize a 52-card Full Deck ultimate attack on a group of enemies. Because her Full Deck ability reverts her back to Lucia form, as well as having random effects much like her card throw, it is a very risky move.
- Limit Transformation "Chaos": Currently unusable. Lucia transforms into a version of herself in a white dress and with black wings, and her natural Holy/Shadow elemental affinity is fully awakened. She can manipulate an invisible Chaos Saber, send out legions of angel or demon apparitions in the Holy and Shadow versions of Chaos Fury, or combine the Holy and Shadow elementals for a massive True Chaos attack. True Chaos, like the rest of her ultimate attacks, returns Lucia to normal form.
