::In the ruined streets of the once great capital city of Burmecia, a white-haired young woman serpentined her way through the alleyways and in and out of the ruined buildings. The decaying city seemed choked in thick clouds of perpetual dust. She rounded another corner and pressed her back against the wall, taking quick shallow breaths. Her pursuers wouldn't be far behind. She would need to be fast. Those who hunted her could sniff out magic like wolves could smell blood. But this was a talent she shared with them. The shadows around her provided her with cover as well as power. She closed her glassy black eyes and concentrated. There were three trailing her directly, and three more who were circulating the area. She'd need to take out the forward party first. Then by the time the others got wind of her movement, she could be long gone. At present, they were thirty yards from her, their footsteps silent. Twenty yards, she held her breath. Ten yards, she let it out. Now. She spun around the corner. Shadows swirled in her hands as she flung them at the men in black running straight at her with heads bent and arms out like three arrows. A flurry of shurikens flew from her hands with accuracy. The three assailants leaped out of her way as she had anticipated. The gleaming steel stars curved and struck all three near where the shoulder would meet their neck. Blood poured from their wounds and they staggered. Now was her chance. She sank to her hands and knees on the hard cobblestone avenue. Her being became a shadow that slid along the ground like a snake. She was going to make it::
::A black gloved hand shot from the rooftops::
??: Thundaga.
::A ball of lightning struck the shadow true, shattering the ground it ran along. The woman reappeared on the ground, twitching. Quickly she jumped back to her feet. But by now the three men who had been chasing her had gotten their second wind, at least enough fight left to hit her with a barrage of flash bombs. Not only did they blind her temporarily, the shadows she relied on shrunk from their light. The other three men had caught up to her now, and had cut off the other end of the street. They held their hands up, conjuring blinding light spells. The light had left her so powerless and confused that she didn't see when the man on the roof leaped down and back-handed her across the face. The force behind it was unnatural. She flew off her feet and rolled onto the ground. When she stopped, she didn't move again. The man who had attacked her brushed his long black hair from his face and looked disdainfully at the unconcious sorceress on the ground with his glowing yellow eyes::
Someone wants a word with you Ronin Witch.
::The six hunters closed in on her and took no time at all binding her. One of them pulled a syringe and injected a sedative into her arm. The man with the yellow eyes repeated their instructions in a voice as smooth as maple syrup::
??: Load her onto the ship. That drug should supress her powers for a good while. She's to be given a dose every hour until we reach Doma. Keep the room she's held in brightly lit. We can't take any chances.
::One of them scooped her up and slung her over his shoulder::
??: And be gentle with her. She is after all, still a lady.
::Behind his mask, the man carrying her nodded::
Masked man: As you wish Lord Stefan.
Stefan: Good. Now let's head back. This place creeps me out.
::And so Nyx was carried away into the night::
