Another storyline is in the works that is too follow the Autumn Harvester story-line, this time involving more a localized event in Lindblum, much as the beginning of the previous storyline was. This new story will play out differently then normal FFT story-arches, focusing more on a small event and political power play.
The idea behind it, for me personally (Loci), is to further expand upon Oliver's character and bring him up from age 10-11 to 17-18. The basic premise is a revolution in Lindblum (yes, there will be heavy Marxist and communist overtones in this one). There are two factions, the LPA/CWP (the lower-class revolutionaries) and the Aristocracy (Regent, Guard, etc...). The fighting will be more in the realm of street fighting with a little emphasis on the use of city destroying capabilities.
I'm curious if anyone would like to join me in this, as one side or the other. It will be a more relaxed story that will be going at my own pace, least for the LPA side of things. There will be "armies", basically a few hundred guerrillas using asymmetrical warfare verse a stranding army, etc... so you are not required to stick to one side of events.
Anyway, anyone interested?

Too bad I can't use my queen of crime for this one. But of course Iole's coming. And Lillith might be involved as well in a more political type setting. But if this is that far ahead in our timeline, I think she'll be pregnant by then. Or at least have her son. I'll keep you posted.

Hmm... Knowing Kerion's postition as a mercenary, I wouldn't be surprise if he was hired by either side.

With Galeon of course as I'm still debating on what to do with Neiro...but yeah count me in! Oh and since it's your SL I will let you decide which side you want me on, whether it be to benefit or to take away from one group or the other...

Anyway, I'll be starting up the next one in the next few days. Slowly at first (probably), so don't worry about missing anything.
Kerion, it would be interesting to see you on the other side of things! Oh I can see epic sniper battle between you and "Sid", haha.
So here is the history: In the wake of the events of the Stephen’s Day Riot, the killings perpetuated by August Krasnow and Rena Williams, and the events circulating around the King in Yellow, several of the large gangs of Lindblum began to focus their efforts on external forces affecting their communities instead of internal conflicts. The gangs of Shaunkill and Bowery Boys joined into a powerful alliance known solely as the Vigilance Committee that focused on the social reconstruction of the Crest and other destitute areas of Lindblum by acting as a citizen’s brigade against crime, corruption, and things deemed “harmful to the people’s welfare”. The remaining gangs, say for a few that existed outside the sphere of Crest influence were quickly dissolved or integrated into the Vigilance Committee, normally by threat and force, till the VC became the only non-governmental power within the slum neighborhoods.
To the credit of the Vigilance Committee, conditions in the Crest improved rabidly. New industries were brought in and social reform was quickly taking shape, leading to better conditions for all under the sphere of the VC. It was also at this time that new learnings, philosophies and theories were circulating through the semi-literate lower-class. Ideas concerning the distribution of wealth, power in the hands of the people, and the corruption of the aristocracies became a new dogma of the poor and destitute. By this time, the Aristocracy felt more then threatened by the growing influence and power the VC and the discontent of the proletariat, leading to a series of decrees outlawing the VC and its affiliates. Leaders and prominent members of the VC were arrested and jailed without trail for “crimes against Regeant and country”. Discontent began to brew in the Crest over the arrests and outlawing of their precious committee.
Several days after the unwarranted arrests, a massive protest was staged out in front of the palace of the reigning Regent. An altercation developed between a group of young protesters and the guard and when the protest appeared to be on the verge of turning violent, the Regent ordered the demonstration to be suppressed. Thirty-three protesters were slain in a just few minutes and the protest was forced to scatter. In the days following, former middle members of the VC, formed a new organization called the Crest Thirty-Three. Comprised mostly of outraged laborers and idealistic youths, they armed themselves and on a cold night in January, took to the streets to free the imprisoned leaders of the VC. They were met by the guard and a battle took place which left both sides bloody. However, the guard retained the upper hand, suppressed the revolt, and captured all the known organizers of the uprising in the days following. Along with the leaders of the VC, they were promptly executed in a public square soon thereafter.
With the “revolts” suppressed and a military presence now in the Crest and other ghettos believed to have been involved, the aristocracy breathed a sigh of relief and carried on as usual. This would not last; under the guiding ideology of a “people’s state” and the overthrow of the aristocracy and bourgeoisie, thus creating a class consciousness which would eventually lead to a classless society where all the people have stake in the wealth produced within the state, a new underground party formed known as the Crest Workers Party, quickly becoming a competent and strong political party. Forming a union of workers, laborers, some factory operators, and disgruntled members of the guard, developed into a new powerful political force that weaseled its way into Lindblum politics, gaining support in and outside the city-state, reaching as far as Alexander and Treno.
As more and more of the lower-class joined with the CWP and with copy-cat branches forming in other cities, a state of emergency erupted in the aristocracy. A decree, which became known as the June Proclamation, criminalized any and all members of the CWP and its affiliates. Members were arrested without warrants, tried in kangaroo courts and were either imprisoned or executed. Many just simply disappeared in the night, “black bagged”, never to be heard from again. Outraged and anger grew in the ghettos and soon a militant wing of the CWP formed, called the Lidblum People’s Army.
Using guerilla tactics, propaganda, and fear targeted at the upper-classes, they seek to topple the reigning Regent in the name of a workers state. Labeled as terrorists throughout the kingdom and the surrounding city-states, the LPA have been for the past year in an up hill battle against the forces of the aristocracy who are willing to do anything in order to keep their seat of power and wealth.

So after reading the first couple pages, I'm thinking I would like Galeon to join the LPA side, if thats ok...He isn't really high class anyways, plus he would be like late 20's for this SL, so he could act as a sort of "elder figure"...But yeah these are just ideas haha Let me know what you think...

The stipulate is you'll have to be under "their command" and follow their ideology (not everyone is a young kid, all the officers (Connolly for example) and leaders are older, some much older). Also take into consideration that this is basically regular human on human fighting, so there isn't much in the way of powerful creatures and enemies, especially this early into the fighting.
I'm just wary about having anyone particular person who could drastically alter the favor for any one particular side with their current character. Why Nat's "Lillith" isn't getting involved. If you don't think that will be a problem then go right ahead, PM with any ideas you have to get your character involved and why he would join up so I can set something up for you to enter.

Well, the revolution storyline has ended. I do believe that may be one of our quicker ones... not sure how that worked out honestly, those that contributed, thank you. It wasn't an easy one to do, with it being so drastically different then our previous ones but I do believe it came out pretty good.
Anyway, that's the last sl I'll be doing for a long time. I, for the first time, have run completely out of ideas. Now it's time for someone else to take the reigns and do something.

Well I've got a good one in mind... Oh wait. Yeah that's right. Who's willing to wait two years for: "TIME OF DRAGONS"?
Yeah I finally settled on a title.

Hey I'm not dumb enough to argue with God. But seriously, it'll go by like that.

Y'know, there are tons of stories of people who argued with God. They lost, but they did it. Generally, He humored them. Anyway, I'm finding it difficult to get my characters involved in these things. Laguna's always been so politically driven (against his will), and Julie's been kind of pulled into that world ( not against her will). As Leah Garden's first SeeD, though... hm... ;D (By the way, Loci... I still have yet to really get started on my first SL. But I've got ideas... and I'm pretty sure Lucia does, too. The site will not suffer. )

Oh, I have ideas... when you're not hogging the net, dear sister. Perhaps one of us should work a little more towards getting your computer fixed? *hint* Anyway, it doesn't seem like the kind of storyline either Lucia or Melaina could be involved in; and unless I get enough time on this site to use both of them, I'm not making any new characters. Looks like it's just the Sorceress War for now.
