::In a lone room, buried somewhere in the deeper recesses of the Police Station, lit by a single light above a cold gray table. Cuffed to a chair facing the door is August, his streaked with four long gashes now stitched together and his glasses crudely taped together and a look on his face that could kill. Leaning up against the far wall is the Constable, looking smug and confident, satisfied that the man they have been searching for has finally been caught after all this time. August pays him no attention with his eyes, instead staring straight ahead.::
Wipe that grin off your face, it makes your chin sag and my stomach turn.

::The door opens and the green eyed sorceress enters with a blank expression, staring at August with her slitted eyes. She strides purposefully to the table and leans against the back of the chair opposite the prisoner::
Always the charmer weren't you August.

Ah, I was wondering when you'd show. Really brightens up my day knowing your pretty green eyes can meet mine.
::August smiles, causing his face to bleed a little from the stitches. He tries to raises his arms onto the table to rest them there, but the short cuffs stop him short of his intended goal.::
Oh not even any room to move, they're quite cruel in here. I really should file a complaint, shouldn't I? So, who is the good cop and the bad sorceresses? Hmm? Well? Isn't that how this works?

No August there's no good or bad players here, we're all pretty much here to crucify you. Can't smooth talk your way out of this one.
::She pulls the chair out and assumes her seat::
So you say we're being cruel for... that, but cutting someone open and stealing a vital organ while they're still alive, or messing with a young boy's head didn't strike you as sadistic in the least?

::August shakes his head no and almost seems to be taken back by Lillith's accusation, as if there was anything wrong with what he did.::
No, none at all. I did what I had to do, simple as that. It was really more a job then anything, some people kill for money, others for the state, for fun, I had to kill for knowledge. No real difference, it's all a matter of perrrrcception.
::August tries to make himself more comfortable but the cuffs fail to even let him lean back in the chair in a comfortable manner.::
As for Oliver, he got in the way. If I had known he would be so much trouble, I would of taken care of him before he caught on. Never underestimate the determination and cleverness of a child, live and learn I suppose.
::He flicks his head back gently, throwing his glasses back up his nose.::
So, Lillith, how is it outside. A nice day I hope, crisp and clear with just a hint of spring hanging in the air? That's how I have been picturing it.

Well get used to that because you'll be picturing it for a long time. It's true people kill for different reasons, but that doens't change what they are; murderers. A long time ago when I questioned your motives I seem to recall you had the gall to say to me... what was it now? "I'm not the monster here"? Well what do you have to say for yourself now? Hunting, stalking, killing innoccents, that all sounds pretty monstrous to me.

::August begins to laugh, slowly and low and first that grows louder and louder.::
Oh I'm still no monster, no, after the things I saw through that gate. Hah, I'm nothing compared to the world from whence your kind came from. That's sickness in its purest form. Though I don't doubt that something from that place rubbed off on me, I still am no monster. Only a monster kills people, my targets were just rubbish. The dredges of society, if it wasn't me, then their own filth would of claimed their miserable lives. If anything, I mercy killed them, yes that is it, mercy. I'm an angel of mercy.
::He strikes that smug grin of his, with its otherworldly darkness.::
Isn't that just the irony?

Was it mercy to make the dead sing too? Was that your idea or was it Echidna's? And how do you justify killing your mentor? We found your journal explaining what happened to him with his blood on the page. And how about his colleague Proffessor Von Karma? Were they rubbish too, men who you looked up to and emulated? What was your excuse there?
::She leans forward::
You think so lowly of the working class you've been picking off, and yet look at where you are now. Your "superior intellect" has been thwarted by one of their ten year old's. Now I'm going to ask you again what I asked you that day at the manor. You say you're seeking knowledge, but that kind of knowledge is a means, not an end. What did you stand to gain from this? What could possibly be worth all those lives?

::Coyly, looking straight at Lillith with an unflinching expression, he explains.::
You want to know the truth? Can you even handle the truth of this? Well lets see if you can. It was Echidna's doing with the singing corpse, a rather clever little trick I would say.
::He pauses for a moment as he licks the front of his teeth under his lips. He breathes a sigh at the mention of his mentor.::
Crowlith was an accident, I didn't kill him though, not directly at least. I can't even fathom the horror in words what happened to him, not in any terms you would understand at least. It was something beyond this world or the next. A true horror of horrors... As the professor, he was an Architect that knew too much. I came to him about Locsel-Kuth, he probed to deep into my intentions and I couldn't let him leave the room alive.
::August twirls his hands within the confines of the cuffs, as if mocking Lillith.::
Those lives were well worth it, I got everything I needed from that book because of those lives. It's all stored up here, waiting.
::He leans over, his index finger straining to point to his slashed forehead.::
And when I leave the confines of this building, I'll be taking that back with me to a place at the edge of world and there a god will be birthed in human form and paradise will begin. Everything the Architects have done will come undone and I will be there to witness in the glory of that event.

So Locsel-Kuth, or should I say The King in Yellow got to you too. Didn't you learn anything from what happened with Jezebel? You dig too deeply into something that's not meant for you or any human, and you wind up destroyed by your own twisted ambition. You're no better than Natalia. Not that any of this makes the slightest difference, you're never getting out of here. You're smart, but not even you're smart enough to get away with murder.

::August just smirks, eyes glistening with some hidden secret.::
Yes, Locsel-Kuth, the King in Yellow, whatever you wish to refer to him as but this is not Jezebel, this is something greater for our world. See, I'm an idealist and I have a dream that is on the verge of becoming a reality and neither you, him, that little rat, this building, or anything else will stop my dream. I won't go to the gallows, I won't even go to a trial but where I go, I'll be sure to bring you along so you can witness first hand my success.
::He leans forward, that darkly expression enveloping his face.::
And it will be you sitting in a seat like this, unable to move. It'll be voyeurism at its finest and I'll be your exhibitionist. Wouldn't that be lovely, sorceress?

::Lillith gets back to her feet and looks down at August with contempt::
Yeah well, keep dreaming.
::She takes her leave with the Constable showing her the way out::
I'd increase security if I were you. He sounds very confident of an escape. It's not all that impossible if the gangs support him. Put him in a padded cell with insulated gloves, a straight jacket, whatever you need to do to stop him from scratching a rune into anything. And don't let his appearance fool you. Now if you don't mind, I'm going to regroup with the others. I've been away from my school long enough. Someone will be along shortly to pick up Rena.

::August raises his head to Lillith as she leaves.::
Bye, bye Lillith! Please, do stop in again. I just love these little chats, they bring a 'smile' to my face. I would stand to see you out but I'm a little chained down, so please excuse the rudeness. Taa-taa!

--Sometime later, in padded room buried in the depths of the Police station--
::August sits in the center of the floor, cross-legged and barefoot, bound in a straight-jacket and loose pants. He stairs at the door infront of him, as if waiting, rocking back and forth. Muttering to himself to keep him entertained.::
Waiting, waiting, for the Queen's rise and the King to take his throne.
::He looks left, then right, then sighs.::
Really, what is she doing that takes all this time?

Meanwhile at the front offices of the prison, the warden of the jail looks over the paperwork while Nurse Takano waits patiently for him to verify it.
Warden: Yes the new captain said you'd be coming. What's this here? The custody papers seem to be in order. And Miss Blakeney's signature clears Rena Williams to go with you once the transport arrives to escort you back to Dollet. But what's this?
Takano smiles and points to the part of the document the warden wants clarified. "It looks like your prisoner, Mr. Krasnow is in questionable mental health. And with the support he has still on the outside, an escape is a high possibility. The Captain gave me clearance to make a diagnosis. If he's unstable he'd like for Mr. Krasnow to come with me to the transport along with Rena."

Warden: "He's right this way miss. Careful though, he's a weird one. The girl's a little further down, but she's so pumped full of drugs, I doubt she'll be too much of a problem."
The warden leads Nurse Takano down the prison corridor.
"Thank you very much. I promise I'll try to be fast. Handsome man like you probably has dinner waiting at home, am I right?"
In spite of himself, the warden blushes.

::When Lillith finally pulls the carriage to a stop, the others are just glad to see solid ground again. But there's no time to lose. Lillith already has her right crossbow out, dashing into the building and down the corridors in the directions she remembers Echidna and August are being held. She rounds a corner just in time to see the blond nurse and the warden making their way leisurely to the padded cells. She points her crossbow at the nurse::
Stop right there!

Takano gives Lillith a confused frown at the sight of the crossbow aimed directly at her head.
"Lilly? What's this about?"

::Lillith narrows her eyes at the Nurse's casual use of that detestable pet name::
Nothing much. I just heard a really interesting story about a nurse who came to Lindblum to help solve her lover's murder. But she couldn't tell anyone because she didn't want his wife and kids to find out. But the really interesting part was that the doctor she had been seeing secretly, wasn't married at all. Now why would the Nurse lie about that, unless there was another reason she needed to stay close to the case.....Close to us?

::Eva came in behind Lillith though she had a raised eyebrow at the remark Lillith made::
Hmmm this was a interesting development, though the way she drives I'm happy I took up flying...
::Keeping the smirk to herself Eva leaned against the wall lazily though one could look at her body language and could tell she was ready to take action if she needed to::
