::Rainii looks at the pendant Eva gave her in admiration, before putting it on. She smiles.::
"You know, you need to stop giving me presents, or at least let me catch up! At this rate I'll have to constantly give you presents for years..."
::She turns, and begins to walk back to the hotel, the others right beside her.::

(OOC: I'm back y'all)
::Lillith fingers her new choker with a small smile floating across her face. She was having trouble describing what she was feeling right now. She cared a great deal for both Eva and Rainii, and had since the sorceress war. It was different from how she felt about Kenny. Not smaller or weaker, just different. She had believed it to be the same thing as what she felt when she was with Shaft and Rose. But it wasn't quite like that either. A black shape that she catches out of the corner of her eye before it lands on her shoulder and pulls her hair playfully in her beak makes Lillith understand. When she thought about Eva and Rainii, she felt the same thing she had when Melanie was alive. She catches up to the others with a broad smile on her face now::
So where do you guys suppose Kerion got off to?

*Eventually, jas finishes eating before leaving the necessary Gil for payment* "So, where is everyone at Kerion?"
"They should still be at the Inn next door."
*Jas blinks* "I didn't notice. I would of sensed them sooner."
*The two of them left and headed back for the Inn*

::Eva rolled her eyes slightly::
"Probrably ran off to get something to drink, I tell you, these guys find any reason to get a drink nowadays..."
::She giggled softly::
"Though I suppose with our line of work who can blame them right?"

No I guess not. Far be it from me to deny the boys their whiskey... not that I'd know what that feels like, but I can imagine.
::The four of them make their way slowly back to the inn::
You know, Kerion's been my bodyguard for awhile now, and I still can't really get a read on him. He seems like a regular gentleman most of the time, but for the most part, he's really quiet. Kind of reminds me of...
::She pushes the door to the inn's tavern open::
Jas?

*Both Jas and Kerion stepp into the Inn, only to be met with a question*
"Jas?"
*Jas blinks before answering back* "What a conicidence." he replied. "Heard you guys been having fun and I wasn't informed." he joked.

::Rainii is confused by Lillith's 'question' until they enter the inn entirely. She sees Jas then, and waves.::
"Well, look who showed up!"
::She looks at Lillith, grinning.::
"At this rate, by the time you leave Dali, you'll have gathered a whole 'nother group of people to tag along with you."

::Eva stuck her tongue out at Jas and took Dante up to his room to lay him down before kissing his forhead and coming back downstairs::
"Oh loads of it, you know how you always tell me i'm a magnet for trouble which you claim I was a handful."
::She gave a grin::
"But I always told you I was a angel, I do no wrong."
::She looked towards Rainii::
"The more the merrier I suppose."
::Eva sat down on the chair close by as her hand glowed blue slightly as they could see a light casing of ice around her hand as she ran it on her arm on where she gotten shot::

::Lillith's eyes grow wide as they sweep over the gathering of friends::
No the more is not merrier! Jas, it's not that I'm not happy to see you, it's just... Dammit Eva! You know we need to be discrete, you know "stealthy, quiet, precise, not too noticeable". Did you send for him or what?

::Eva laughed and shook her head::
"Nuh uh, I didn't send for anyone. You can't blame me for this one."
::She did the chesire cat grin::
"We can still be stealthy, quiet, and precise."
::She winked::
"Given proper direction we can cover a whole lot more ground right?"

In theory yes, but whoever we're looking for, he's smart. Not just smart, he's conniving backstabbing evil genius smart. The slightest slip up, and he'll get word that we're still on his trail. Then we either scare him off, or worse we become his next targets.

"That just means we'll have to be 'extra-stealthy', then. Extra careful. Having more people around means there are more people who may have ideas about whats going on. It could help."
::Rainii pulls up a chair, and sits.::
"If he's smarter, then we'll just have to think faster. And we wont mess up."

::Eva nodded as she just finished healing her arm::
"Whatever the case have you found anything that may be a clue in the book yet? Or are we gonna have to do some searching around the city?"
::She then grins slightly::
"Besides even genius screws up sometimes, there may have been a unknown variable he never takened into account. If we happen to see that variable we could press that to our advantage."

So it's all a matter of who screws up first? There's a serious flaw in that approach. He knows who we are. He knows us, he knows how we think, he knows how we tick, and we don't have the slightest idea who he could be. He has the advantage.
::Lillith pins her eyes on Eva::
Eva, think about what happened that night at the inn. I'm a sorceress with power over the weather, and you're the Daughter of War. But none of that meant crap when it happened. We slipped up, he slipped in. You were catatonic, and I was paralyzed while he drove a knife into me. And once he was done with me, what would have stopped him from moving over to the next bed. If Iole hadn't just randomly walked in when he wasn't expecting it, we would have been one of those women on a slab in the Lindblum morgue that Ames and his cronies are doing an autopsy on.
::Lillith's aura seems to dim a little now that her tirade is over. She sits back down and rests her head on her hand::
I'm sorry. It's just... he almost killed me. I felt vulnerable.... weak. It's a real eye opener, you know? I guess I lashed out because... ::sigh:: I'm scared.

"Aren't we all? And besides thats one title I never flaunt out you know because it has jack to do with my abilities."
::She smiled softly::
"I there's anything I've learned, he may think he knows us and how we tick however, people change. You know the saying "Whatever doesn't kill you only makes you stronger" and well we aren't dead."
::She placed a hand on her shoulder as Lillith felt a cool aura go around her::
"Besides that gave us a nice chance to learn from our mistakes and come up with a counter no?"

::Lillith nods::
You're right.
::She says this half-heartedly, just letting Eva's cool aura wash over her. But then something clicks in her brain and she repeats her words more forcefully::
You're right. I think we've been looking at this the wrong way. If he knows who we are, there's a strong chance we know who he is as well. I think we should go over what we know about him again. The victims were each stabbed to death three times in the chest, and then cut open so he could remove one of their organs. All this was done in under ten minutes with a surgeon's precision. It all looks to be steps to some sort of cryptic ritual, and the singing corpse suggests that he has some magical expertise. Who do we know who might have it in for us that has all these qualities?
::Then she frowns and all her sudden good spirits fade as quickly as they came::
Crap. I can't think of anyone with that kind of background who's not already dead.

"That's pretty much what I was just going to say. Just because we think they're dead...doesn't mean that they actually are. So...who, in that long list of people, do we think could still be alive? Or at least alive-ish?"
