Within the dry-docks, stationed in the wall above the Crest; on the gray smokey morning in the city of Lindblum, rests the Hijrah.
Hired hands scurry over her hull and decks, welding, painting, chipping, fixing and replacing various parts of the poor ship that has seen more then her fair share of battle wounds. On the dock below her stands Vincent, observing the work, barking orders and looking stressed again. It wasn't more then a few hours ago that the police had arrived to investigate the recent murder of a young woman near the docked vessel.
The captain couldn't help but think to himself, "Why me? What did I do to deserve this? No matter where I go I cannot escape the trouble, here, there, anywhere! Now I have police swarming all around me... I just want things to go easy for once."
"Vincent!" Yells the eccentric lemur, Miguel, popping out from behind a stack of crates. "Why so serious!? It's shore leave time! Come on, relax!" Miguel slides over to Vincent and pats him on the back. "Look, so there was one dead girl in our backyard. Is that sooo uncommon?" He pauses, thinking about his statement. "Well I suppose it is, but least Rafee didn't do it this time!"
Vincent's eyes narrow as he turns and looks down to the scruffy lemur. "What... do you mean 'this time'?"
"Uh... nothing captain!" And gives Vincent a big smile.
Vincent sighs and turns back to watching the ship. "I can't stop stressing over the 'what-ifs'. It's been how long since we ran into Natalia? I can't even remember, and not once since then have we actually done our pirating. I'm the laughing stock of the sky-pirate world! What-if we never picked her out of the sea? Think of that? I do every night, its the only thing that lets me sleep, that and liqueur." He peeks over his shoulder towards the place where the victim was found. "Now I have a murderer at my gangway, in a city that has every single one of my problems residing in it, after said murderer. You know they will probably show up here, asking for help or the like. I don't know if I can handle that, I'm already on edge as it is... and they are persistent."

A shadow sneaked from behind one of the crates. It seemed to be a shape of a teenaged girl.

"Yea, but they have good intentions, Capt'!" Exclaims Miguel.
"Be that as it may-"
*Crash* The loud clanging of metal striking the dock causes both Vincent and Miguel to jump.
"Hey! Be careful with that!" The captain yells as he runs over to them, shouting. Miguel follows behind, cursing the same towards the hired hands.
Nahla sticks her head out a forward porthole, above Vincent and Miguel and below the clumsy help. "Hey, captain!? What's all the racket?"
"It's fine, go back inside... and put away the gun." Replies Vincent, yelling back up to her.
"Awww, you know me to well sir." She smiles and pops her head back inside the porthole.
Vincent rubs the bridge of his snout, between the eyes. "My crew is insane..."

A girl was standing behind the captain and his crew. "I-" she said.

The moment the voice speaks, Miguel and Vincent turn around abruptly. Miguel has his hand on the saber at his side, while Vincent's hand is buried under his coat.
"Better have one good explanation for sneaking up like that." Says Vincent, appearing not at all pleased by the sudden intrusion.
Miguel eyes her suspiciously, taking one regular step forward to put himself between her and the captain. "Aye, not to wise... an ya don't look like no longshoreman either. What's your business here with the captain?"

"I happened to sneak up on your ship...I just wanted to find my friend..Renilius.." She said as she tilted her head downwards to prevent them from seeing her face.

"Well, ain't no Renilius here." Says Miguel, forcefully. "Unless they workin on our ship here, which I doubt."
Vincent raises his brow, eying the girl suspiciously. His hand still inside his coat "You have obviously taken the wrong turn somewhere, this is the dry-docks. From the look of you, don't believe you have any friends within the ranks of these types."
Miguel butts in. "An we ain't in the policy of making any friends."
"Suggest you get a move on now, girl..." Vincent asides to Miguel. "It's a she right?" Miguel shrugs. "Anyway, this place isn't for lost young ladies. Dangerous work and even more dangerous people."
Just then, a shower of sparks rain down on the three from a welder hanging off the side of the ships hull.
Vincent looks skyward, his face distorted with anger. "Hey! Watch what you are doing! People down here you idiot!"

Vincent and Miguel look at each other, then back to the girl.
"Oh really?" Says Vincent. "That's interesting, so you are saying that you are a stowaway? Aboard my ship? Well, you got some brass ones to come up to the captain and admit it."
"Missy, I do hope you're joking cause that's a serious offense." Interjects Miguel, slowly drawing his saber. "We don't give out no free rides."
Vincent draws then a pistol from under his coat, the menacing Kufr, finally repaired from a battle with Louis Delafonte. "You know the punishment for being the stowaway aboard a pirate vessel? Don't you? We don't need to operate within the due bounds of the law in these situations." He shakes his head, it almost seems that he's not enjoying this situation. "And I've had a real bad day, but, you being a woman, I'll ask how you boarded my ship, when and where, because it's been awhile since we last docked. Tell me this truthfully and I may be willing to show some mercy."

"I-I just wanted to look for him.. I'm really worried.." She said. She then looked up at Vincent. Revealing her freakishly golden colored eyes. They really were golden irises and pupils. "If you really want something I could offer you, I could provide some protection in this ship. I could cast illusions and protective spells. You don't have to pay me just let me stay here."

Vincent's eyes narrow, not keen on her offer. "Protection? Illusion spells? Sorry, not something I need for her. She's quite alright the way she is and I do not trust any of that sorceress magic anymore." He taps the barrel of his gun against his left arm, thinking.
"What shall we do to her? Trice her up? Or maybe keelhaul!? Oh please please!" Begs Miguel, showing a morbid amount of excitement at the prospects.
Vincent shakes his head. "Now, now, we're at dry-dock. Can't get away with that here, sadly and shes off the vessel now." He looks down to the woman. "Your eyes bug me, they remind me of Loci... not something I want to be reminded of. So now you got another mark against you, not looking to bright of a immediate future you got going for you missy. Now, where did you board my vessel, how long were you on... also, which is been bugging, how did you know we would end up here? Not like I advertise my ships course."
Miguel pokes Vincent's side. "Maybe she is a friend of Adrian, little something pretty he kept quiet about."
"I would be inclined to believe you, if I wasn't certain he was already in love with that snake of his." Retorts Vincent, smirking.

"I just boarded A few days ago." She said. "I'm Sina by the way. And if your talking about a man and a snake I saw him a few hours ago. He went out of the hotel with a bearing of 150 degrees due east of north if you take the compass, around 200 meters away from here near a hotel."

Miguel and Vincent look at each other, their eyes rolling. "That makes about as much sense as asking for relative bearing grease. You just pointed us in the direction of my ship's stern. It kinda faces away from the city or any inns." Vincent grows more and more annoyed with this situation. "And I know where Adrian went, he was here last night picking up his stuff because he, unlike you, was invited to travel aboard my ship. He wants to stay here and help a mutual 'associate' deal with all these killings that have been going on. I think he's nuts, but that's just me. Every time I'm around them, things just-"
"Capt'" Interrupts Miguel, jabbing his elbow into Vincent's ribs. "Ya rambling, the girl doesn't need to be punished by listening to ya gripe. No one deserves that type of abuse."
"Right." Vincent says, running his free hand over his face in frustration. "So, you know where Adrian wondered off too and yet you are standing here. Impressive, but I'm now incredibly confused because you can know that but, not where your friend is?"
"Captain!" Yells a female voice from above them, once again Nahla is sticking her head out of a porthole. "Everything alright down there!? Need me to shoot someone!? I got my rifle here... she's awfully bored!"
Vincent's head falls into his hand as he emits a low, frustrated growl. "No... no shooting... just get back to work."
"What ya say sir!?" Nahla yells back. "Can't hear you from down there."
"JUST FORGET IT!" Vincent snaps back.
He looks back to Sina. "See what I have to deal with?"

"Sorry..." Sina said timidly. "Renilius was supposed to be in my place a few days ago but he never came. Being a delivery guy, he probably entered a portal so I entered one and found myself stuck here. then I went aboard your ship because it was the best choice and I new I'd be safe here."

((woot 777 post))
Vincent, Miguel, and Nahla up above all burst into laughter, Miguel doubling over as he laughs.
"Oh hear that? Safe place! Our ship!" Heckles out Miguel.
"Wow, that's golden, really it is." Chuckles Vincent. "Never heard anyone say that about the Hijrah. Wow... woo." He breaths in deep. "Haven't laughed like that in awhile... missy, you are a quite the comedian." He says pointing at her with a scolding finger. "Funny stuff, got to watch it around you. 'Hijrah', 'safe', damn that's good." He holsters his pistol back underneath his coat. "Alright, I think my first mate here and I can agree, that was worth the stowaway charge. I dunno where your friend is, frankly, don't care but he isn't here so, dunno how to help you."

"Please let me stay here." Sina said. She pulled out something from the pocket of her jacket. It was a wallet. "Take this money. That's all I have. I-I'll do anything that's needed to be done. Please let me stay here."

"Keep your money, money isn't the problem. Beside, you can't stay with us, once the ship is fixed, we're gone. I do not plan on staying here any longer then we need too, already uncomfortable with the cops snooping around." The tone in Vincent's voice is frustrated and annoyed. "Ontop of it all, wherever our 'friends' are, there follows with them nothing but death, destruction, and chaos and I will not have any of it this time. So..."
Miguel interupts. "Think the captain is saying that you don't have to go home but can't stay here."
"Exactly, now excuse me miss. I need to make sure the hired help aren't welding the wrong things together." Vincent bows then walks away, heading towards another part of the dock a few yards away to scold another welder dangling from a boatswains chair off the side of the Hijrah.
Miguel, however, remains with Sina. He leans cockily up against a stack of crates and winks to her. "So, ever been with a sailor?" Follows with a click of his tongue, his tail swaying slowly behind him.

Sina turns around to Miguel. "No, not really. I really wanted to travel around and I saw looking for Renilius as an opportunity to be able to travel."

((This is Miguel we're talking about, he can't think past his... you know. Also, living dangerously, etc...))
Miguel rolls his eyes, peeved she was or at least acting oblivious. "Well, ya picked the wrong ship lady. We don't call into ports too often and when we do... well it ain't exactly a port a sheltered girl such as you should step foot in." Miguel grins devilishly. "I recommend taking a cruise or something, to Costa Del Sol, if you want to get out and about. Pirate ship ain't no place for the likes of your kind but... I'd be willing to teach ya the ropes." Swishes his tail. "If you catch my drift."
