The great city of Lindblum buzzes with great activity as citizens go on with their routine norm. Odd cable trains come in with people pouring out of it and absorbing in people awaiting its arrival.
Even among the huge crowd stick out a person like a sore thumb from afar; a man wearing otherworldly clothing. Most ignore him while some take a brief glance and even go as far as walking from a distance to take a good look before leaving.
Then, a common thief takes notice of this odd man and assumes he may have some rare items to pawn off.
He starts to close in and just as he is about to do his usual pickpocketing... Dante unsheathes Unforgiven and placed its tip upon the thief's throat. He turns to face him. "I suggest you leave... now..."
The thief runs off and the crowd pauses for one second before going back to the typical norm....
Dante walks down further away from the crowd into a more peaceful area, telling him he is getting close to the location he is given the library.
So... we're here away from Eva whose gone off as well to take care of something personal at the moment to meet someone we barely remember that knows something about Rubicante and Cagnazzo the Idiot?
Yes... I believe the Memory Triggers I have done has blurred my memories possibly.... He thinks to himself... ...and I still cannot remember the events after that...
He takes a look at the letter send to him and vaguely recollects during his stay at Alexandria with Eva before they head out to the Ice Cavern possibly to reminiscing the day their relationship and feelings flourished. While Eva must have went to shop for things, Dante aided an odd friendly man going by the name of Elliot Von Karma. At some point in the conversation, Dante drifts into about finding the truth about himself and his parents and the two persons possibly following him. Then through vague reasons, Elliot goes into saying that he would be interested in helping him since Dante helped him on an errand he vaguely cannot remember. Because Dante was distracted of being with Eva, he goes off agreeing and leaves with Eva to travel together again...
Ok, while the letter sounds like we're best buds... or something else more odd that I don't really want to go into, I thought I... or you... were going to move on with Eva and all the "happily ever after"... things..... and "quality" time with each other... and-- OK I'll stop now.
I know... but... the conflict still lingers and... I hope to clear it... or something... He could not explain it clearly...
Well, all right, I suppose.... you must be missing Eva already. Come on, you know you are...
Ugh, just keep quiet. I just want some answers to clear my mind.
Fine, fine.... I'm still saying you're missing Eva already though.
He grunts and he finally reaches to the library. He opens the wide huge doors and enters in. Not a lot of people clutter this building... actually, there almost seems to be no one at all other than a few people standing in front of the shelves to find something of interest.
He starts to look around to find Elliot...

Dante's search leads him to the offices in the back of the library, where he finds the office of Professor Von Karma ajar. Beyond the crack in the door, he can see the professors desk with books and papers stacked atop it. One stack lays strung upon the ground, leaving the floor in disarray - they're stained with blood. Upon the door, Dante is meet with the sight and smells of death. There, slouched over the desk is the body of Elliot, a series of knife wounds in his back. It appears to have been several hours since his murder, the blood that pooled around his corpse having started to dry and his flesh turned blueish gray. The rest of the office looks as if it has been ransacked, with tomes and papers tossed about haphazardly. Yet, most peculiar and morbid of the entire scene is what painted on the wall behind the desk. In a yellow paint, slapped over pictures and decorations is this peculiar sign. Then, there from the outside, is a rustle in the hall. Someone running away from the door.

".... what the bloody hell....." Yeah, literally. Well, I'm sure checking for pulse is out of the question....He observes the area and takes notice the wounds marks on the professor's back. "Well... I see no footsteps, trailing blood, or struggle; this man may have been back stabbed... literally and possibly metaphorically." As he ponders on what the suspect was looking for, he takes notice of the Odd Sign painted on random pictures. He takes one of them and holds it for safekeeping and recollection... Odd Sign added into Key Items! He observes furthers. "Well, I like to say this is a simple raid... but these symbols intrigue me and what their meaning they are suppose to bring... let alone why they are here in the first place." Whatever it is, he, she, or they didn't want Dr. Bad-- sorry, sorry, Von Karma to find out something or keep his mouth shut if he did find it.He takes notice of the stacks of book. So then the question: What did hey find that brought the end chapter of his life? It cannot be them... could they? It was best not to assume that and believe it could be something else in the works; he did barely met Dr. Von Karma and knowing "them" they would not go that far to cover up this "world balance" deal. Before Dante could look into the books and tomes, his ears perk up and turns to see a person running off. "Hey, you!" He chases him down and notice he was on the other end of the long-length bookshelves and ahead. Dante starts to run after him but it seems he may not make it in time... Oh god, that person's getting away! You, I, ugh~ aren't going to make it!Then I shall make the person think I will...He grabs a book as he runs while making his footstep louder via more impact. He throws the book overhead and it drops straight between the shelves up ahead, making the sound of books fall. It gives the feelings that Dante is about to come out from the other side in front of him and runs the opposite way. As he turns back, Dante was right in front of the person with his hand on his Revolver. It is not seen from the person in front of him as he did not want to frighten the person... but also in case this person happens to be the killer that came back to get something else... which seem doubtful but it was best to take precautions... "Stop there and calm down... it seems you were planning to meet Elliot..." He gives a questioning face "... or something else maybe? Who are you?"

It seems it takes Dante a moment to see that the one standing before him is nothing more then a kid, a Burmecian, dressed in raggedy clothes. Strikingly, his eyes resonate with their platinum blue shade through the dingy gray and browns of his fur and clothes. He raises his arms in surrender.
"Ya gotch me, I surrenda." He looks up to Dante, slightly sheepishly and slightly embarrassed. "I jus follow yu here, didnt skew tha bloke no how! Yu gave ma friend a god scare, wento see four mysel... thas all. Names Oliver, one of tha Shawnkills Gang." There's a pause for a moment as Oliver thinks what to say next. "Uhmm... wha were ya seeing deadie for? Any clues ya find in there? Was it the Autum Harvaster that don it?"

Dante eases his hand for a bit and overhears what Oliver says. "All right then... Oliver, yes? Your friend...?" He ponders for a moment. "You mean the thief? Well, do not worry, I do not intent to do harm to others unless mine or someone's else life is in great danger. Sorry to your friend if it seem to be the case but I am sure you know my reason."
Oliver mentions of Dante's purpose here. "I came here to meet this professor to get answers about a few certain persons I am looking into... and maybe my past... and parents... but it seems he had other visitors and apparently left their mark for reason unknown at the moment..."
He takes out the picture with the odd symbol out of his trench coat pocket to show it to Oliver putting it back in. "I do not know the meaning of this... but I intent to find out if possible."
Then Dante overhears about Oliver of the "Autumn Harvester". "... the 'Autumn Harvester'? Mind if I ask who or what that is..?"

Oliver looks intently at the picture Dante shows him. "Strange little thing ther ya got, wonda whats it mean." He looks back up to Dante then steps back, looking awkward. "Uh... thas what they callin the murderer round here."
Oliver grows quiet for a moment, avoiding eye contact with Dante, instead focusing on the ground. "He got me mum... cut her up real sumthing..." He breaths in deeply, almost a sigh. "Got anuther gurl las night. Saw that one with myown eys I did. Cut ta pieces..." He looks back to Dante, slightly confident. "But I guna find him an cut him lik he done to me mum! I will, yo'll see." He scratches the back of his head. "So whas you name, stranger?"

"Ah... I.. see. I am very sorry to hear of your loss..."
He continues to hear about this killer taking not only the boy's mother but also another woman victim. He also overhears about revenge. He had a say on this... but he kept silent as that was a bit of a conflict. While it was understandable, at the same time it may go too far as he vaguely remembers "it".
Dante hears Oliver ask of his name. ".... It is Dante Shadesang. Well, as I like to go back to investigate the office again, the last thing I need is a misunderstanding."
And you or I wouldn't like Eva to be confused and mad about this; I'm sure she'll listen and understand... but.. well, just saying in case... <.< Ugh... He grunts a bit of his annoying alternate thoughts and rubs his forehead a bit...
"Sorry, something in my mind... as I was about to say, I should best report this incident to the officials first on this city before taking another look into the office assuming they let me; it is a slight chance but it may relate to this random killer..."
He starts scratching his head... "... though I am not sure where it is. Sorry if this is too much to ask, but do you know where that place would be? If you feel uncomfortable for whatever reason and need to be somewhere, it is understandable..."

Oliver pauses, thinking for a moment. "Yah, the oinkers hav been all ova these things, they have. Thinks they have sum sortof news thing goin on today near The Crest. They gots an outsider girl workings with thems, bloody oinkers cant do nuthing on theirs own." Oliver shrugs. "And if your lookin for this guy, thens best stay around you. Not like I got anywhere to be no more, come on. Les blow this scene before sumone thinks we done that nasty stuff in there. Come! It aint far."
Oliver takes off briskly out of the office hallways and through the library, avoiding eye contact while softly whistling to himself. He tips his head to an older man sitting behind the counter and slips silently through the door and out onto the street.

"... oinkers?"
I suppose that how officials here are called? How odd...
... we're going to need a universal otherworldly translator book... thing one day...
He starts to walk out with Oliver as the man behind the counter waves to Dante farewell. He does the same and follows out with Oliver to the streets.
"All right then. So where to to find where the officials reside?"

"Up near the Crest, come on. Jus watch for the Bowery Boys 'round heres." Oliver's eyes the crowds around them as they pass up and down the street. "Blokes love to ruff up outsiders good." He points to the north, toward a sign that says Theater District and pointing down a road. "Thas the way there, right, less go give the oinkers a little vist shall we, governor Dante?"
With a burst of young exuberance, Oliver darts into the crowd and heads off to the street, weaving in and out between people. Bumping into the occasional pedestrian but pays no attention to their protest.

--Back at the library--
"Alright, Library closed!" Yells the constable as they step inside, one librarian from behind a counter voices protest. "Sorry sir, police matter. Please, everyone needs to evacuate temporarily while we do a police investigation. A few officers are waiting outside to question you and the rest. Alright, come on now! Everyone out!"
After a few moments, when the library is cleared of staff and citizens, the constable is lead to the back room where he tells Oliver to wait out in the hall. He brings Dante inside with him, taking out a handkerchief to cover his nose as he does.
"Oh, yes this one has been dead awhile." Saying in a muffle. "Did you move anything but that one picture, Mr. Shadesang?" The constable rummages through the mess, poking at papers and the body with a pen. "Hmmm... interesting, the killing looks completely different from the Autumn Harvesters normal MO." It is then a plush leather chair for visitors to the office catches the Constables attention. "Well, I'm thinking that out friend the Professor knew his killer. Only someone you trust can quite literally stab you in the back, like this. Mr. Shadesang, what was his relation to you?" He shakes his head, raising his hand in reassurance. "I didn't mean to insinuate anything, sorry if it sounded like that, but if you know him you may know the killer as well. Did the professor have any partners or other associates that he worked closely with in the city?"

Dante responses to the first question of the constable. "Yes, the picture with the Odd Sign was the only one I taken..."
He then overhears of what Constable says how this killing was different. While no evidence support any connection, it was all too coincidental that all these killings were happening on and about within this city as Oliver told him.
As he started to observe the office more throughly, the Constable asks the question if Dante had any relation with the professor and if he saw the killer.
"I only met the professor a slightly long while ago... he was a friendly man as he just wanted to find an answer to my past in return for helping him on a simple errand. But no, I never known or seen the professor with anyone.
I assume his surpassing friendliness somehow was taken advantage by the killer maybe... and the professor's life taken in the process. While the length of relationship between the professor and the killer is still in the air, I assume there must have been something useful the killer wanted from the professor or the items in this office in the first place seeing how this place is...."
I still wonder why the hell you would leave funny Odd Signs on the wall after you killed someone... talk about excessive amounts of pride.
Hm...
He ponders on the Odd Signs then searches the office throughly to find anything the killer may have forgotten, left behind, or destroyed to conceal evidence...

The Constable inspects the empty chair closely, taking out what appears to be tape from a pocket and takes lifts on the arm rests. "Few fingerprints here, now just need one from the other crime scenes and we can tie the two together."
He scoots around the desk and looks over the body of the professor. "You could be onto something, Mr. Shadesang, but here's a twist. What if the killer wanted to keep something concealed, from us? Maybe the professor stumbled onto something he shouldn't have? Might explain the plastering of that odd yellow sign everywhere. Cultist activities have a tendency to operate like this, similar to gang graffiti. That's if this is indeed related to some sort of cult activity, murders certainly appear like it."
He turns and looks at the odd signs plastered on the walls. "Hmm, wish I knew what this was. I'll have the symbolist go over it tonight, might shed some light onto the matter. Speaking of which... the coroner should be here soon. Examiner been bloody earning his wages this week."

Oliver, despite his order to stay outside, has been peaking in the whole while. Overhearing the Constable talk about cult activity, he decides to chime in with his own two cents. "Me mum spoke of sumthin calls... Ta Ordar or something, fom way back befor I was born. Could be then, no?"
Then, awkwardly, with his hands in his pockets, he looks down to the floor. "Jus sayin, I kno they aint 'round no more..."

Dante ponders a bit... "Yes... the Order is gone as I was involved with the group in taking them down and the leader. Unless someone from the Order is still around for some reason, which I have doubts and assumptions at the moment as I know the main people involved in the Order were defeated..."
He pauses for a moment as he recalls that while the Order were gone, "the person" which was the Order's main purpose to bring "him" back... or was the main purpose for a while from what he remembered... surprisingly lives...
Hm... I have to hold on to that thought but that is doubtful, in the air, and no connection...
He turns to Oliver... "I am sorry to have question further about your mother... but can you recall anything else about what she said about them recently, especially after the The Order was gone? Or she has not mentioned this for a very long while?"

Oliver shakes his head no. "Mum nver like to speak of that, shed fled fom them befor I was born. Mum did say once she afraid they come ack for her, do remember that I do. Ben a long tim tho."
In a strange change of demeanor, Oliver perks up a little, as if excited to say what he is about to say. "Me dad, mum said, saved her form them! Why she don't like talk'in about it..." With a little more boldness inside him, Oliver steps closer inside the office. His eyes affixed on the corpse of the professor. The smells of death and blood makes his nose twitch and tingle, he wipes it, as if to brush away the stench. "So... wha happens with deade over thare?"

"Ah... I see then. Your father must have been a brave man to save your mother from the Order seeing how they were..."
Oliver ask of what will be done with the professor. "I suppose what happens from what I heard is that the professor's body will be examined before he is rested to peace, hence his death to be not in vain. And they will also look into the Odd Sign as well..."
... then an odd random thought. "Where is your father, Oliver? Sorry for asking as your mentioning of him made me wonder a bit."

Oliver nods in reply to Dante's explination, he does seem strangly transfixed by the body. Perhaps just childhood curiosity to something strange and unfamiliar, he's broken from his trance by Dante's question.
Turning to him, Oliver speaks, through a tongue of awkwardness. "Uhh... sam as this one here I 'pose. Mum said he died b'fore she came here. N'ver knew him none, jus have th-"
Oliver is interupted by the coroner arriving, he greets the Constable and rather rudely pushes their way in towards the body with a strethcer in tow. "Aye, outa da way, comin through here. Don want to get the lil'oily death juices on ya pretty shoes now do ya. Make us room."

As the coroner makes his way into the room, accompanied by his assistant, the Constable pushes past him and makes for the door. "Come on chaps, all we can do here for know. Lets get back before the Captain has another coniption fit, want to go over this symbol more closely with you and Lillith before the symbolist gets to work on it. Be ahead of the curve you know!"
Oliver grudgenly walks to the door, not appearing all to pleased with the idea of following along with an 'oinker'.
"Come now Oliver, we'll get you something to eat. Beside, can't have you wondering around the streets now can we."
Oliver rolls his eyes at the Constable, clearly unammused by being treated like a child. "Ya, ya... I wanna meat-pie, OH an gin!"
The Constable nods with a smile. "We'll see about the gin but the pie is yours; come Mr. Shadesang. Let's check back with the others."

Dante nods and follows along with the Constable and Oliver. He takes one final look at the professor before this person with the interesting job does what he needs to do.
I wonder if Fate is holding back the truth in the back of my mind to deal with something greater once more... to deal with this... possible world balance issue...?
... well, whatever what he/she/it doing, it's doing a good job. Looks like that the truth is going to have to wait for a bit.
He turns and leaves with the group...
