Clerian was a little impressed, but mostly confused. Apparently a lot had changed. Here he was, on an airship owned by the same girl he had helped to rescue so long ago. It was a little weird to get used to.
For now, he just followed Rainii wherever she went.

:The voice again echoes in Rainii's ears:
[glow=red,2,300]My dear....[/glow]
:The figure stands beside her pointing at Clerian with it's stick:
[glow=red,2,300]It appears that dying really has had an effect on your dear friend[/glow]
:The figure chuckles:
[glow=red,2,300]Well Rainii....shall we help you break down the riddles? Of course we should...you now know I wasn't lying when I told you a lone warrior would rise? Yes? No lies! And I didn't lie about you being a bridge! Do the three of them love you Rainii?[/glow]

[glow=red,2,300]Tisk, tisk my dear....[/glow]
:The little cloaked figure walks around to a window to watch the ground pass ever so quickly:
[glow=red,2,300]I believe each of them has sacrificed themself for you at one time or another. Have they not each protected you?[/glow]

:The figure disappears from her sight momentarily for the poking to once again return:
[glow=red,2,300]Not feel bad![/glow]
:The figure hobbles in a pacing motion back and forth as it keeps glancing up at Clerian:
[glow=red,2,300]Rainii my dear...they all loved you.[/glow]
:The figure begins laughing again:
[glow=red,2,300]Love brings new life.....people survived these terrible incidents, you survived, other friends, the planet....love even brought Clerian back! These sacrifices are essential to the health of the planet.[/glow]

Okay...The planet is healthy. That's nice. All those things you mentioned are great,fantastic.But...
::She turns away from him::
...why is it that the planet needed them? Everyone here needed them more. How is it that i've survived, when there are plenty of times I should have died? More importantly,why them first?Did the planet just 'like' them better?

Destiny sucks.
::She looks at Clerian, who looks rather bewlidered, and feels bad. How confusing must this be for him?She smiles at him, hoping that that might reassure him,somehow.::
"Make yourself at home!"

"Home?" Clerian responded with a weak smile, "That's a weird concept."
He ran a few fingers subconsciously over his chest, as if there were a deep wound that couldn't be seen. Everything was so strange. His death felt like it was an eternity ago, yet recent at the same time. The pain never left and felt the same it did the day he fought Gravekeeper. The darkness, on the other hand, made time seem non-existent. Two years? An eternity? It was the same thing to Clerian at this point.
Still, he was here. The time was now. He had to start over and make sense of the present instead of reverting back to the past.
"Thanks," the young ex-SeeD concluded, looking toward Rainii with the same calm eyes he had back then. There was a different aura about him now, though. The once fiery youth and passion was replaced by a calm, dark visage.

::Rainii looks at him, worried.::
"Clerain...this is going to sound like a really dumb question,but are you alright? I mean...I know I probably can't do much to help,but..."
::She looks him in the eye.::
"I'll help if I can. I'm glad you're back."

Clerian's head starts spinning at this point.
"It...seems like a dream," he thinks to himself, somewhat dazed, "but I know it's real. It feels too real to be a dream."
Taking a deep breath, he flicks his long hair out of his face and replies, "I...honestly don't know."
Gazing at her, he explains, "It's hard to explain, Rainii..."
"It's like...having everything taken away. My life, my home, my friends. And here I am, back in the world I lost," Clerian described to her, "I...didn't even ask to come back. I just...woke up. Like dying was just some twisted dream."
He stopped. He knew he was sounding really gloomy about it, but it was hard not to sound that way when he'd been 'dead' for the past few years, as far as he knew.
"It's just...hard to process. I'm here, but everything's changed. I just need to find my...purpose... again," Clerian told her.

"You'll find it again,I'm sure. And a lot has gone on, but just...take it in stages. In parts. Don't try to figure it out all at once, you'll just get more confused."
::She looks down, thinking about the question she's about to ask.::
"Did you want to come back?"

Clerian ran his hand through the front of his hair, holding his head in thought.
"I don't know. I never really wanted to die in the first place," he answered, "It-...it was just..."
The ex-SeeD faltered for a moment, recalling the day he died.
"It was either me or you guys. I...chose me," he answered. "I guess the only problem I have with coming back is that I don't understand why. Or even how, for that matter..."
Clerian was trying not to let the lack of information bother him, but it was a big deal to come back from death and not know why or how it happened.

[glow=blue,2,300]Yes, yes...Clerian was the most matured and advanced one at that time. Crohan was still yet to reach his potential....and Infinity...well he was still a lost kid! Clerian, however, he was ready to take on fate![/glow]

He died...because he was ready to?
::Rainii looks confused.::
So Infinity and Crohan died when they did,because they were ready to take on their fate? They were supposed to die? My fate was to have all my friends die and be left alone?

:There is clapping appaud in her head:
[glow=purple,2,300]Ahhhh.....so she CAN think on her own!! Precisely!! You hit the nail on the head!! They were all ready to let fate take control at different times. Unfortunately fate is unkind to heros...[/glow]
