"Guardian Force, Jyo. Some call them Summons, others elementals and a whole host of other names." Shaft states. "Just powerful entities, kinda like demigods that can be called upon through magic and enough will power. Not many use them anymore for weapon purposes, since the death of the last Summoner. No one has the ability to control them like he did, pity really." Shaft explains. "Oh well, maybe someday soon another will, but until then, they serve a rather useful training purpose. You sound like you're interested in this training? I had you pegged for a SeeD earlier but, hell, if you're interested in using any of our facilities, don't hesitate to ask. Sure something can be arranged."

Jyo's eyes narrowed in thought when Gfs were explained to him. "Interesting, similar to the Aeons from where I come from." He said with understanding. He was sure that there were some differences, but he was willing to bet the Guardian forces and the Aeons were similar in nature.
Jyo gave a small nod at Shaft's suggestion. He wasn't sure what opportunities he'd get, but he'd keep his options open. "Well I won't say I'm not interested, but I'm not likely to be around all that often, though I'll keep the offer in mind." he replied.
"So what position does this Augustus hold here?" He asked while they waited for the person they had come to collect.

"Augustus!? Why he's just a student here, smart, pretty good with magic but rather unassuming. Only met the boy once though." Shaft states, contemplating on Jyo's question.
While Shaft and Jyo were talking, Sinia and Kane were standing away, discussing something of some importance. Well, in reality, Sinia was just merely throwing off her questions and concerns on Kane as Kane stood in front of her like a statue.
"So Jyo, it is Jyo right? Where did you do your training, the way Miss Bardi spoke of you, sounds like your practically a SeeD yourself." Shaft asks, looking Jyo over. "And who crafted that fine looking katana?"

"So Jyo, it is Jyo right? Where did you do your training, the way Miss Bardi spoke of you, sounds like your practically a SeeD yourself."
Jyo couldn't help but a give a grin at this. It seemed that perhaps the fact that Jyo had a more rigorous day to day life had given him a good advantage, at least in this world.
"And who crafted that fine looking katana?"
Jyo gave a shrug. "I've been exterminating fiends my entire life. So I guess I'm just used to it. I had to work hard just to get by outside of fighting. It seems a lifetime of doing nothing but fighting and simply surviving have served me well." He replied. After all, he was honest. Being formed seven years ago, looking exactly as he did today, Jyo did little more than battle and progress in his skills. "As for my weapon, it was passed down to me from it's previous owner. I know the traits it has, but not much else." This was also more or less honest. Jyo simply formed it from the wanderer that died in the thunder plains, but what he said was close enough.

"Ah, the best kind of warrior, one trained from birth. Your father must of been one amazing man to have molded his son into an exemplary fighter." Shaft exclaims, while casually taking a glance in the direction to where Rose had wandered off too in search of Augustus. "I'm going to see what is keeping them. Be right back." He looks to Sinia and Kane. "Be right back, going to check what's the hold up! Don't go anywhere!"
As Shaft leaves, Sinia and Kane rejoin Jyo. "See you've taken a liking to the combat instructor." Sinia states, hint of animosity in her tone. "Thinking of doing some training here? Or still adamant on traveling?" With the warmth of the late morning sun, Sinia unravels her scarf from around her head, handing the silky cloth over to Kane, who pockets it. "Speaking of which, where exactly were you born? Here to think that we've done so much together in such a short time and I barely know anything about you."

Jyo gave a sigh as Shaft took off and went to find Rose. He didn't know how much more he could take. He looked over at Sinia and grinned at her. "He's not a bad guy, but I don't think I'd last well around him. You just looked like you could use a break from him." He said before making a shrug. "I can handle people well enough. I'm not just good with a sword, the more you see of me the more you'll see that I'm not the average warrior." He added with a wink.
Then it came, something he had been worried about. The question of his birthplace.
"Speaking of which, where exactly were you born? Here to think that we've done so much together in such a short time and I barely know anything about you."
Jyo scratched behind his head. "Well I was born in the Thunder plains of Spira... Never really knew my parents, My first memories are at the travel agency there." Jyo was having to tell a mix of truth and lies here. He indeed formed in the Thunder plains, and his first stop had been the travel agency. "I've been on my own since I was ready to set out on my way." He said, this was at least true.

"I see, the Thunder Plains? Awfully vacant place to be born, what was your mother doing out in such an inhospitable region?" Sinia voice was predatory again, she was either trying to bait him or make him slip on something, but she was suspicious about something. "It's so far away from any of the major settlements, hard to imagine a woman nine months pregnant would be traveling through there, much less at all. Kane!" She calls sharply, Kane grunting and looking towards her. "Time?"
Kane, pulling up his sleeve, shows his wristwatch to Sinia, which she takes a quick glance at. "Certainly taking their sweet time here. Wonder if the actual Headmaster is this unorganized." As she speaks, something glistens off her glasses, emitting from behind Jyo, in the bushes. A slight blue twinkle, like a tiny star in her sunglasses. With nearly a chuckle, Sinia snaps and points to the bush and Kane obeys. Reaching in with his meaty arm to pull forth...

"Hey let go!" Yelps the young Burmecian, Clive, the same one who had been fighting with the girl Kate earlier. He struggles in vaine against Kane, who's massive frame dwarfs Clives thin body. He flails out, staff swinging around, which Kane easily avoids as he carries him by the scruff of his neck to Sinia. "Seriously, was your mother a filing cabinate? Hate to have seen your father." He mocks, having finally given up struggling. "Help... help..." He says, not even trying to call for any assistence, just out of shere boredom.
Kane drops the furry rat in the center of the group, illiciting an 'umph' as his feet hit the ground. He dusts and adjusts himself when released, fixing his ivy cap as well. "All that to just drag me twenty feet? Seems like poor management of resources, if you ask me, which you didn't." He leans against his staff, the lanterns knocking against the wood, their electrical charges throwing a blue light upon those standing around them. "Not that I don't appreciate being dragged from the bushes, heaven knows it's not like I haven't had it happen before, but what can Clive do for you?"
Clive is clearly one of the older students of the campus, probably in his late teens by his looks and attitude, but Burmecian's ages are hard to judge for outsiders, after their adolescent, they can appear much the same till reaching late adulthood.

Jyo gave a shrug to Sinia's questions. "I believe I mentioned I didn't know my parents." he said before leaning in a little bit. "I like you, so I'll tell you more about me later, but I'd rather it be in private." He said softly. Jyo's main problem is the fact people might have revulsion for what he was, but he had the feeling Sinia would be ore on the curious side. He just wanted to keep it between them.
Thankfully they were interrupted by something, Jyo noticed the glint on Sinia's glasses and his left hand dropped to the handle of his weapon. A spy? He thought as Sinia directed Kane to check it out. Jyo whirled around when Kane pulled their guest out, and relaxed when he saw it was the young Burmecian. The boy certainly had an attitude.
Jyo grinned. "I'm not sure Clive, what could you do for us?" Jyo asked curiously, wondering what the boy was skilled at outside of his electrical abilities.

"And here I thought you were leaving me so soon, Jyo." She replies playfully as she turns her sights upon the pathetic thing Kane wretched out from the bushes. This Burmecian, though of the same species, had different markings then Sinia.
Sinia tips her glasses down her muzzle to get a better look at the teen, she certianly didn't seem pleased at about be spied upon by anyone, much less a veritable child. "The question here is, 'why are you watching us from the bushes'?" She says, staring down the Burmecian. "Not that I don't appreciate the attention of a young lad such as you, I rather don't appreciate it during business hours."

"Oh, why would you think I'd be spying on you, miss?" Clive says in a snotty tone. "Whatever gave you that impression? Can't a guy simply enjoy dicking around in a hedge for the sake of being in a hedge? It's all the rage now, called Hedging. Going to be a recognized sport before long."
He looks to Jyo then to answer his question. "Oh I can do lots of things, like find this!" From behind his back and really, from seemingly nowhere, Clive brings forth the breifcase Jyo was given aboard the helicopter, the one with his gil. "Thought you may like it back, wouldn't want it just laying around all. Wouldn't take you for being lackidasy enough to leave 49,000 gil just simply sitting about. Why someone with far less morals then myself wouldn't be trusted to not just snag the whole thing."

"I did say I was still going to stay for a while didn't I?" Jyo said with a small smile. He wasn't sure where he would be headed next, and staying with Sinia seemed like a good thing for a couple of days at the most.
Jyo raised an eyebrow to the maneuver Clive used. "Impressive to say the least. I do hope you normally use that kind of talent for something better than parlor tricks." He replied. He was interested as to the nature of such an ability. In that brief moment, the young Burmecian ad not only obtained the briefcase that Jyo had left behind in the chopper. He knew the amount
"So is that some of teleportation, enhanced speed, or some other ability?" He asked. He wasn't sure how Clive had managed to pull this little task off, but it gave cause for being a bit inquisitive.

"Just checking. Wasn't sure if you were planning to leave from here." Sinia states, eyes graciously gazing for a moment to Jyo, before turning a disgruntled gaze to Clive. "So you're not only a little spy, but a thief." Jyo feels Sinia's hand on the center of his back as she snags the briefcase from Clive's grip, yanking it of the teens hand forcefully.
"Green-eyes, the boy is nothing more then a common thief." She says, flipping the case open to show Jyo the contents. "You had 50,000 to start. He probably snagged it from the helicopter earlier and was simply hiding it on person. Thieves have deep pockets for looted goods." She snaps the case shut and hands it to Kane, feeling its probably safer in his hands. "This... boy, is nothing more then your common street urchin with some magic. A million more like him out there, don't be taken in so easily by his little game."
One again, Sinia snaps her fingers and Kane grabs Clive with his free hand, spinning him like a knife till he's upside down. He's nearly helpless in Kane's grasp, hand like a vice and doubtful any attack would make the matter better. Kane shakes the Burmecian, rattling his lanterns, metal jewelry, and causing his hat to fall to the ground. "Kane, see where Green-eye's money went."

Clive yelps as he lift off the ground once more and then flipped over, hanging by his ankle now, arms dangling down, fingers just barely out of touch of the ground. His staff hit the dirt causing a serious racket as the wood and lanterns smack into the dirt. "Hey! I HAVE RIGHTS!" He boasts, annoyed and dizzy. In the process, he raises his tail's tip up to Kane's face and softly tickles his nose. "Coochie-coo!" Kane's thick neck and square head jerk side to side, trying to avoid the tail's touch but Clive's movements are to quick, so instead, Kane just squeezes harder on Clive ankle; the Burmecian's most sensative joint, which is why they almost always wear some sort of bracer else face injuries or long-term conditions, and Clive was no exception. The pain was enough to make him give up in the struggle and accept his upside down fate as various items began falling from his pockets. Notice! Item Recieved: 1 trinket 1 old book 1 oil lamp 3 hi-potions 100gil 100gil 100gil 100gil 1 Thornberry Triple Triad Card 100gil 1 key ring 1 sailing ship analog clock 100gil 1 small gem 100gil 1 simple silver ring 100gil 1 potted cactus 100gil 1 tent Occult Fan II - World's Mysterious Magazine Photo Issue 100gil Kane then drops Clive on his head once the 1000 gil has been recovered. He throws the bills back in the suitcase and returns to Sinia's side. Shaking off the daze, Clive sits up, pulling his cap from under him and setting it back on his head. "Alright, alright, just trying to earn a dishonest living." Using his staff, he stands up, dusting off his clothes. "Some of us just aren't lucky enough to be rich."

Jyo raised an eyebrow again. "Well if that is the case it is quite a pity." Jyo said with a grin as the money was returned to the case. "After all, if it wasn't just some well done sleight of hand to make it seem like the case came from nowhere, I would have been more impressed." He said with a slight feeling of disappointment. He had been hoping to get a glimpse into a possible new technique, but it seemed that he wouldn't be privy to such a chance.
Jyo was glad that money wasn't really an object for him. he was used to living off the land, and he wasn't used to anyone trying to pull the wool over his eyes, though he was a quick learner and very adaptable. "So why would you need to be a thief if you are being trained here at the Garden? Surely they provide for you, it would hardly be sensible to not give students proper accommodations, clothing and food." He said with some interest creeping back in.

"Cause old habits die hard." Clive states cockily, "I've lived by my own wits for years, then I accompany someone here and end up staying as a favor for Headmaster Lillith. Figured it couldn't hurt, considering I'm still having problems controlling my higher magic. Get that under control and then leave this place in the dust."
Clive, finally for the first time since his rude ripping from the bushes, takes a good gander at the three before him. From what he heard earlier, why were they interested in that creepy Augustus. "So... why are you all here to pick up AJ? I mean, I understand that pompous, full-of-themselves dorks tend to move in packs but, that's where I'm having trouble, why you three? And you." Pointing to Jyo. "Why when I'm near you, my lanterns loose charge?" Indeed, Clive is right, his staff's lanterns do appear to be dying, their blue glow waning and blinking, and the closer he puts them to Jyo, the more they appear to drain.

Jyo figured he would let Sinia answer about Augustus. She was the one here to collect him. Jyo had been along for the ride to learn a little bit about the Gardens.
Then Clive focused on him and asked why his lanterns were dying around him. Jyo gave a small chuckle at this. "That would be due to the fact that I'm not your average vagabond swordsman." He said as he let a small electrical discharge race across his body. "I heard you have impressive magical abilities with lightning. My own affinity with lightning is of a different nature." He said as the crackles around his body subsided. "From what I heard from Shaft, you simply use lightning. I however, have bonded with it."

"I don't just 'use' lightning, mister." Clive snorts, obviously not taking kindly to Jyo's assumption. "I channel and manipulate it, and not just lightning, but all forms of electricity. So you suck up electricity near you, whoopee, but can you store it, amplify it, then magnify it ten fold? I can turn everyday static into an EMP, what can you do? Hmmm?" Clive boasts with pride, clearly not wanting to be outdone by this stranger. He runs his hand over the fur on his arm, the static generated making the hairs stand on end. Raising his arm to his staff, a sudden arch of electricity shoots out from his fur and into the lanterns, giving them a mild charge, enhancing their glow.
"A 100 gil says that I could disrupt that little lightning bond of yours, if I tried." He brags with a swish of his tail, cocky and confident.

Sinia rolls her eyes at the macho display unfolding before her, all was missing was the puffed chests, snorts, and head butting. With frustration, she folds her arms, watching the two. "It's none of your concern, urchin." She spits out. "And if you two are going to have this little... macho contest, I'm going to step over here and just watch you two make fools of yourselves."
Clearly she was not impressed and down right annoyed, but boys will be boys. She steps back, along with Kane to give them space should they decide to continue with their little display of genital size. She taps her foot and waits for their next move.

Jyo grinned at Clive, this was going to be interesting. Jyo didn't doubt Clive's skills with the element, but Jyo had other uses for it. He looked over at Sinia and grinned. "Don't worry, he's the only one who is likely to be made a fool of. I would normally ignore him, but I actually have an intristic curiosity to see what he could attempt to do in the way of disrupting my connections with my elemental affinity." He said before looking back to Clive.
"Tell you what, succeed I'll give you 2,000. Fail, yet impress me and I'll make it 1,500." He said with a raised eyebrow as jolts of lightning started racing across him. "Make it fast Clive. I'd like to be able to take off when Augustus gets here." He said.
