((OOC - I love being able to predict your moves. ^_^)) :: Two of the tortoise thing's shell spikes appear to absorb Clive's attack. The electricity arcs across its entire shell, and seems to strengthen it very slightly. Now given time to react, Anya fires a volley of elemental attacks - fire, ice, wind, and earth. All of which seem equally efficient at denting the thing's shell. The creature glares at her again, and raises itself up on its hind legs. Crashing back down on all fours, it sends a wave of sand at the group. Anya grabs Ierys and Serena and dives to the side, barely dodging the shockwave. :: ((OOC - Now Clive has to figure out a way to be useful. As for Ierys and Serena - Anya feels obligated to protect them and keep them out of the battle, but they can feel free to join in later, if they're up to it.))

Clive gets caught in the sand blast and when the attack ends, the spot he stood upon is now covered in a mound of sand with Clive's hand still clutching his staff jetting out of it. His hand rattles and the sand suddenly explodes out, pushed by an electric burst.
"GAAAAAAAAAAH!!!!!" He quickly inhales as he falls to his knees. "Air! Sweet air!" Shaking the sand off as best he could, he jumps back beside Anya. "Alright, that didn't work. Think we need to go more physical. That gun only shoot elemental or do you have regular bullets." Clive maintains a defensive staff, hopefully the thing isn't bright enough to learn not to use electrical based attacks.

"They are regular bullets. I charge them with elemental magic."
:: The beast slowly lumbers forward. Backing away at a similar pace, Anya fires a regular gunshot at the creature's head. The bullet just bounces right off. ::
"I think we need to find a weak spot!"

"Yeah... that's all well and good but what's weak on a turtle!" Clive exclaims, jabbing his staff forward toward the beast, trying to keep it back. "Anyone know any non-elemental... like meteor!? Maybe a stop or petrify?"

:: The creature raises its head as it draws closer. Anya instinctively reacts with an ice-charged magic round aimed at the tortoise's throat. The bullet penetrates, and the creature lets out another shriek. Anya smirks confidently. ::
"There's one weak spot."
:: Accompanying the tortoise's shriek, another bolt of lightning fires from its mouth. Anya tries to dodge, but the electricity arcs around to follow. Oddly, it branches out to strike her fingertips. Overloaded from the hit, Anya lets out an agonized scream and falls face-first into the sand. ::

"Anya!" Clive yells, too slow to intercept the electricity. She watches as you falls into the sand and lets out a low growl, turning back to the beast. "Alright, now you're soup!"
Clive charges toward the creature, then leaps high, using the signature trait of Burmecians to his advantage. He lands atop the turtles back, sliding down on his belly till he grabs ahold of one of the jutting spikes from its back.
"I got it!" He yells, clenching tightly to the beast. "Ok, didn't think this through."

((OOC: See what I mean about the timezones? I'm missing all the action.))
Ierys looks on at the battle, unsure of what to do but trying to formulate some kind of plan anyway. Ok, magic wont work, most of its covered in that darn shell so you need to be precise. Oh great! Now Clive is hanging for dear life. Why the hells did he try that? Idiot. The thing needs to be in a position for Anya to get a clear shot. Maybe its stupid enough to get confused...
Serena: "This is bad, this is very bad. What do we do?"
Get a turtle on its back and it stays there...Granted its a nasty spiked back, but its worth a try. "You stay right here!" Ierys says to her and Serena barely has time to ask why before Ierys is running off onto the beach.
"Hey slowpoke! Bet you cant hit me!" She calls at the thing, grabbing it attention. She bolts to the side and the creature strikes the sand where she had been moments before. "Come on! You gotta do better than that!" The beast follows her movement, attack after attack that barely misses her. Faster Ierys! It almost got you that time. She doubles round and again the creature tries to hit her but Ierys throws herself under it, spraying sand as she goes. The thing turns itself this way and that, looking for the target that seems to have disappeared and Ierys keeps low underneath it, taking care not to alert it of her presence. Come on Clive, get down. Get down while it still gives a damn about where I've gone!

"Whoa! What you doing Ierys!" Clive yelps, trying to hang on to the bucking tortoise. He slips and smacks into the beast's back. "MAGNETISM MAGNETISM!" The copper wires around his wrist suddenly spark and the arm smacks into the back of the turtle. Clive uses that to help crawl along the turtles back till he reaches the edge of the shell over the neck, he looks down, spotting the soft tissue of the neck tucked under the shell's lip as he slides the staff over his back. The turtles head still flailing about, trying to find Ierys, making this all the more difficult.
"This... is going to be a bad idea." He flicks out the prod from his gauntlet, locking into place. "IIIIIIYYEEEE!" He flips over the edge, hanging on with with one hand, his other free, waving the prod. He swings forward and brings the prod to the soft of the neck, sending his electrical reserves through it and directly into the beast's body. It let's out a roar, rears up and his head jerks and knocks Clive away, throwing him some distance from the beast and smacking up against some of the rocks along the shore.

"What am I doing? What are you doing?!" Ierys cries out, rolling out from under the beast as it comes back down heavily, throwing sand everywhere. She spits some sand out of her mouth and looks around. "Clive? Speak to me sparks! WHOA!" She throws herself back wards, barely dodging another attack as the thing catches sight of her again. "Now or never." Ierys runs at it, ducking and weaving around further attacks and launches herself from a rock and over the creature. In an attempt to continue the flurry of attacks it was sending her way, the beast tried to follow her directly, rearing up and leaning back. Ierys's feet started to come down on its shell and she used that to launch herself up and forward once more, giving it something to aim at. Flames licked at her arm and she cried out, but the maneuverer had done its purpose and the thing fell on its back, the spikes digging into the sand and serving only to trap it more so. Ierys, meanwhile was nowhere to be seen.

:: Anya slowly staggers to her feet. She's actually more disoriented than damaged, and watches Ierys and Oliver while attempting to regain her faculties. By the time Ierys has managed to get the giant tortoise thing to flip over, she finally feels more or less aware of herself. Just in time to realize that both of her comrades seem to be in trouble. ::
"Clive? Ierys?!"
'... At least Serena had the sense to stay out of this!'
:: Anya takes one look at Clive, and takes a deep breath. Her short neko-te claws extend from her fingernails - and immediately start to release electricity. ::
'Wha-?'
:: What looks like the absorbed lightning from the tortoise's earlier attack arcs from Anya's fingernails to the tortoise's shell, and is absorbed by the creature. Confused by the strange turn of events, she starts to consider about a million possible reasons why that might have just happened. ::
"Uh..."
:: Meanwhile, the tortoise monster continues to flail, and an electrical shield forms around it as a last-ditch defense. ::

::From a green overlooking the beach, Augustus stands at a distance, watching the battle with quiet curiosity. His fixes his glasses, removing them from his head, breathes on the lens and wipes them clean.::
It would be interesting if it wasn't so pathetic.
::He replaces his glasses and stands lazily, arms crossed.
Fine... ol vorsag goho.
::The tortoise's defense falls, the electrical shield fizzling out and the beast begins to look drained and weaker, it's flailing slowly down and appearing more strained in each attempt to flip over.

Ierys sees the bubbles and the fading glow of the GEM before she realises what's happening. The little air she may have saved if shed known has already gone and she can feel the water rushing into her lungs as she panics and tries to breath. Pure, unadultered instinct makes her shut her lungs down, refusing to breath in again and kick. She kicks hard, faltering from the lack of oxygen, her mind numb to the situation. Only years of pressure driving the information into her subconcious mind has stopped her from giving in and letting the water take her.
Finaly, after what seems an age but is really only a few moments of struggle, Ierys breaks the surface and breaths in deeply. The shock of air in her lungs is welcome and almost exhilerating. She floats for a moment, letting the reality of her living state wash over herself. Then her eyes are drawn to the shore, she seems to be some way off, unnoticable even without the current problem of a giant turtle-thing which still seemed to be flailing on its back. Ierys smiled bitterly and started to swim for shore.

Clive meanwhile is still dazed from being thrown against the rocks, he staggers on his feet, clumsily (more so then usual), trying to regain his senses. His back has a sharp pain digging through it and he feels as if he's just been - well, thrown against some rocks. His vision is blurry and with his mind all garbled and jumbled from the stun, sparks and tiny bolts of electricity shoot out from his staff as it becomes unstable.
He staggers towards the sound of the battle, but collapses in the sand, face first and if not for the groans of pain, would appear unconscious or dead.

Reaching shore was proving more difficult than Ierys first predicted. One problem was the fact that, despite her brain telling it to do as it was told, her body simply did not wish to put itslef through this much manual labour. Her arms and legs ached and failed to move fast enough to keep her abover water half the time. Her eyes stung from the constant salt water that seemed to invade them and, still having water in her lungs, it was getting harder to breath.
The second problem was that she was swimming against the tide. Ierys was much farther from shore than she had realised and the current was trying to pull her out. Still she pressed on until it was within her power to stand on her two feet and start treading water. As she approached Ierys tried to take as much of it in as posible. The turtle-thing as it slowed its flailing; Anya, aparently unharmed; Serena, still where Ierys had left her. She stopped, leaning over and coughing up some of the sea water. She was drowsy and had the unyeilding urge to just lay down and sleep til the weariness left her. She almost gave into that but her eyes fell on Clives still form.
"Sparks!" She called over to him, her voice hoarse and cracked. "Clive, you ok?"

"Peachy..." He mutters through the sand, right arm raised with a 'thumbs-up'. It falls back into the sand, creating a dust cloud around it.

Ierys rolls her eyes and staggers over to him, grumbling as she goes. The most coherant of these grumblings are repeated variations of "Stupid ass", "Stupid turtle thing" , "Idiot jumping on its back" and "If he survives I'll kill him". She stands over Clive, looking down at him for a moment then prods his head with her foot. "Need a hand?"

"Depends, ss the turtle thing dead?" He mutters, spitting up sand from his muzzle. He pushes himself off the sand, his fur caked in it, while groaning loudly and complaining about his back-pain.

Ierys looks over at the thing, which seems to have given up trying to roll over. "Die-ing" She says, empthasizing the two sylables seperately. Her eyes fall on Clive, coated in sand and then she bursts out laughing. Broken, choked laughter that seems to morph into another cough, Ierys stops, but the smile on her face says shes only not laughing because shed end up choking herself.
Perhaps it was the shock. Perhaps the lack of oxygen. Or perhaps she really just found the sight of Clive covered in sand funny.

((OOC - Congratulations, AJ, you've managed to completely hijack the story development. No harm done, though... I actually prefer Julie not knowing what the hell just happened with her neko-te claws. So, in that case... thanks for completely hijacking the story. ;D)) :: Anya watches the tortoise slowly weakening, and quickly takes the opening. She runs over to a nearby rock formation, and hops and springs off of it into the air. She manages to get three gunshots into the tortoise's underbelly before an almost - but not quite - graceful landing. :: "... Ow!" :: She gently rubs the knee she somehow managed to scrape against a stray seashell in the sand as she pulls herself to her feet. Then, she looks over her shoulder at Ierys and Clive. :: "You two okay?" :: Nearby, the tortoise creature's grumbling noises - probably its breathing - become progressively shallow and labored. ::
