::Lillith smacks her hand to her forehead as Ierys' declaration makes Shaft moan again::
We can stop in Fisherman's Horizon. I'll pay for the repairs. Ierys, this is Johnathan Parris Hawethorne, James to his wife and Shaft to his friends. He helps me run the school. His wife Rosalind (Rose for short) is the one at the controls. Really Shaft, what possessed you to do that?
::Shaft just hmphs::

::Ierys panics slightly, waving her hands around in front of her:: "I dont know anything about this so for all I know its supposed to look like that so dont take what I say to seriosly, i dont know anything really. ok?" ::her voice was high pitched and she was talking faster than the speed of light again. She takes a deep breath to calm herself and holds out her hand for him to shake:: "Its..uh.. nice to meet you, please dont take anything I say seriously"

:Again, Shaft just hmphs::
Rose: James! Be a little more hospitable when we have company. Honestly.
::A woman in a long skirt and loose blouse enters with her dark hair done up in a bandana. Her skin is almond colored, as are her eyes. She has a warm inviting aura and a broad smile::
Rose: Well aren't you adorable!... and skinny. James do we have any of that roast left? This poor dear must be starving.
::She starts squeezing around Ierys' wrists to confirm her suspicion that there is aboslutely no meat on her::
Shaft: So where'd you dig this one up Lilly?
Quit calling me that!

Rose, take it easy. We're not even... you brought a roast on the ship?
Rose: It wasn't anything big. Honest. Why? Are you hungry?
No, I'm alright.
Rose: Well James, since we have a guest, I suppose I can't very well be at the controls. Would you mind taking over?
::Shaft leaps out of his chair in a blink and darts for the cockpit::
Shaft: If you say so honey. I guess I don't mind.

::Rose nearly gasps::
Rose: Sorry sweetie. I knew it, only bone, look how easy you're bruising. Come on, there's some of that roast in the galley... it's probably cold by now. I know, I'll slice it up and make it into sandwiches. You'll have to tell me what you like. Would you mind helping me?
::She starts leading Ierys away to the galley. Lillith can only give the poor girl an apologetic smile as she's dragged away::
Um... Rose would you mind...
Rose: Don't even think about asking for whiskey young lady. You know we don't have any of that on the ship. Not since James nearly got arrested for an FWI.

:: Ierys blinks again as she is led away by Rose and gives Lillith a pleading glance:: Lillith! I dont know this woman! save me! ::Ierys giggle nervously and nearly stumbles on the steps down to the galley but stops herself from falling headfirst down by qickly repositioning her feet. She looks up at Rose uncertainly:: "Im a bit clumsey"

::Rose smiles::
Rose: Oh don't worry, it's just roast beef sandwiches. What could be simpler. I just won't let you near any knives. Now we have to... carve the roast... I'll do that... slice the tomatoes... I'll do that too... umm... dice the lettuce... hmm. How about you... spread the mayo on the bread... with a spoon.

::The engines of the Inquisition roar to life, and Lillith quickly braces herself against the corner of the cabin. Shaft steals a glance back to laugh at her::
Shaft: After all this time, you're still queezy about flying?
It's not the flying I mind, it's the ship!

::Some Time Later:: Shaft: Oh man up Lillith! ::Shaft chides the sorceress as she heaves into a bucket. She looks up and speaks in an exhausted wet tone:: I'm a woman. Shaft: Not an excuse on my ship. Just look at the new girl. I haven't heard her complain once. ::Lillith ignores him and lays her head down on the bench:: Rose: James, really. Try to be a gentleman. You know she gets airsick. Have you tried flying a little smoother? Shaft: ::sarcastically:: Oh? Gee honey, I didn't think of that. Fly a little smoother. Look here, this is a precision instrument of speed and aerodynamics, and it's damn near the finest of its breed, and as such it has its own quirks and sensitivities! You can't just "make it fly smoother". If I tell her something like that, it could sever the whole bond I've worked years to strengthen between man and vehicle. Rose: She? What do you mean she? Shaft: It's nothing personal honey, she just came first. ::Rose is about to say something, but before she can rail into her husband, the entire ship rocks violently. Lillith is thrown from where she was laying and crashes into Ierys who tumbles with her onto the floor. Rose has to catch herself on her husband's chair to prevent herself from smacking her head against the dashboard:: Shaft: What the hell was that?

--Aboard the Hijrah--
"I said across their nose, not up it."
"Sorry, sir!"
Vincent hangs up the intercom receiver as he sits back in his bridge chair, he turns to Tresk. "Keep her steady, maintain a distance of two-hundred and fifty meters."
Tresk, at the helm, nods. "Aye, sir."
Vincent: "Miguel, any thing on the IFF yet?" Miguel, standing at the radar. "Nothin' think Nahla took out its transmitter." Vincent rubs the bridge of his muzzle. "Great.., get on the radio. Let them know their situation." "Aye capt'." The lemur turns to the radio, takes hold of the mic and adjusts the channel. "Hijrah to unnamed vessel..."
-Aboard the Inquisition- Their ships radio sparks with life as it begins to speak. "Hijrah to unnamed vessel, kill your engine and prepare to be boarded. Resistance will result in further attacks. Again, Hijrah to unnamed vessel-" The Inquisition shudders again as another barrage of gun-fire strikes her hull and the radio goes dead, sparking and smokes.
-Back aboard the Hijrah- "...to unnamed vessel, kill your engine-"
Vincent: "Miguel."
Miguel: "And prepare to be-"
Vincent: "Miguel, give it up. Their antenna just broke apart and struck our bow."
Miguel looks at the radio mic then, with a awkward giggle, sets it back in its station. "Oh... sorry, capt."
"It's fine." Vincent states as he grabs the intercom's receiver. "Nahla!" He screams into the receiver. "Hold fire for a minute! Let the bastards have a chance to surrender."
"Sorry, sir! Sensitive trigger." Nahla's voice replies back. "Yeah, I bet. Wait for my signal." "Can do!" With a sigh, Vincent hangs up the receiver and shifts in his chair. "Keep her steady, let them make the next move."

::Ierys pushed Lillith up and off herself by the shoulder then went into a crouching position as the ship underwent another shudder, Lillith looked like she was going to be sick again but there was nothing Ierys could do about that.::
"Stay low to the floor"
::She said making sure Lillith was steady before letting her go::
"It spreads your weight and your less likeley to fall, still might fall over but its less likeley"
::Iery was moving to retreive the bucket in case Lillith needed it again when the radio started transmitting a croaky static before a mans voice started seeping through its speakers. She froze letting the words wash over her::
Radio: Hijrah to unnamed vessel, kill your engine and prepare to be boarded. Resistance will result in further attacks. Again, Hijrah to unnamed vessel-
::The message cut off as the ship shuddered again and Ierys fell sideways and hit the wall. when the shuddering stopped she pulled herself into a sitting position and asked the room in general::
"Thats not good, is it?"

::At the radio announcment, Lillith apparently forgets her nausea and leaps to her feet::
The Hijrah? That's Vincent! Shaft, radio him and tell him it's us.
::Shaft says nothing, so Rose moves to the dashboard::
Rose: No can do Lillith. It looks like the blast took out our communications. Maybe there's a way we can signal them.
Shaft: They shot at my ship.
Rose:... James?
Shaft: They shot at my ship.
Shaft, take it easy.
Shaft: THEY SHOT AT MY SHIP!
::Lillith grabs hold of Ierys instantly and backs both of them into the corner of the cabin::
Hang on!
::It's all she has time to say before Shaft screeches something inhuman and pulls the ship into a nosedive. It dives under the Hijrah and rockets back up to ram the side of the pirate vessel as it goes, despite the protests of the screaming women::
Shaft: COME AND GET SOME!!!

"So they wish to fight. Tresk, evasive maneuvers." Vincent commands as he returns to the intercom. "Nahla, fire at your discretion. Try not to destroy them, please."
A line of tracers streak the sky as large caliber rounds perforate the Inquisition's hull as the vessel breaks starboard. The larger Hijrah is slower but her firepower much outweighs the smaller vessels.
"Sir, enemy ship is attempting to ram us." Tresks exclaims as he spins the wheel.
"Guess the pilot has never heard of the 'law of tonnage', keep up your maneuvers, let them hit our shield if they so desire."

::The firing only serves to anger Shaft further, pushing him beyond reason to the point where Lillith and Rose are both trying to grapple the steering wheel away from him, making the ship zig-zag and grow irratic in its flight pattern::
Shaft let go of the damn wheel!
Rose: You're going to get us killed!
Shaft: YYYYEEEEEAAAAAAHHHWAAWEEOIUBANRELIUAGNVAORT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

"Um... captain... what you make of this?"Tresks ask, pointing to the Inquisition's erratic flight pattern.
Vincent watches with curiosity and perplexity. "I- have no idea."
"The pilot is either a genius or deranged." Interjects Miguel, watching curiously from his station.
Down in the weapons station, Nahla attempts to track the ship as it sporadically flies about. "Like a little gnat! Here, you go squish!" She clenches tightly onto the controls and triggers. "Ah, sly little devil. How about a rocket, you like rockets." She flips a switch and a red light turns on. "Come on! Hold still for momma! There!"
A barrage of rockets explode around the Inquisition, causing her to rattle and shake. Her circuits and engines shudder, nearly stalling.
