::The King nods as Eva asks her question.::
I am the one who gave the sick child the chance to live, becoming one entity... I regret however that the freewill of the child lead to his eventual corruption. That is why a new child was to be made, one free of the influences that nature subjects animals of intelligence too. The perfect host.
::He turns back away.::
However, that is no longer an option anymore, regretably.

::Lillith's fist tightens until her knuckles crack, though she gets the impression that neither their weapons nor their magic will have any impact against this being::
And now that your original avenue has failed you, what is your plan now?
::She asked it with a sinking feeling in her stomach that The King in Yellow wasn't done with them yet::

::The creature turns around now, its topaz eyes staring down at them from behind the darkness of his shroud, only his muzzle protruding out from under the yellow cloth.::
With the hosts death my hand has been forced to something I wished not to do, for the energy required is of a monumental strain upon me.
::The eyes shift between each person standing there, when they fall upon you, the sense of overwhelming anxiety befalls you. It as if something dreadful was about to happen and there was nothing you can do, like a hurricane just offshore and no means to escape now.::
Nature can no longer sustain you, the intelligent animal has grown beyond its means. My roll has met the wall of your technology and life now avoids its nature. My last option was to once again create the host and return the balance through simpler, less destructive means, only he can work your system as I once was able in eons past. Now, I am forced to take the weight of your existence and move it in favor of nature and bring about order.
::He looks down to the confused and frightened Oliver, who is unaware of his presence but knows by the others the something exists in the room with them.::
Some will survive the cleansing and from them a stronger breed will emerge, in numbers that nature can once again sustain.

::Lillith moves protectively in front of Oliver::
You can't be talking about xenocide. These are people you're toying with. They're not dirt to be "cleansed". There has to be another way. This world might be unbalanced and imperfect, but there are other ways of working it out. Who are you to cleanse the world with fire?

::The creature doesn't flinch, doesn't move, doesn't even appear to care.::
I am not committing anything of the sort; can a god murder? Can the creation even scold the creator? I am just one part of Nature's god, just as the ocean or the air. I exist to maintain a balance through pestilence and decay. It is sadly, the intelligent animal who can and has murdered, destroying the balance through forbidden knowledge and without the child... there is no other way.

::As the King speaks of wiping out countless lives for the sake of balance, her thoughts return to Leah Garden; to Rose and Shaft, and all those girls who had just found a place where they felt safe, and those boys who had found a better future than what life had previously dealt them, all of them completely unaware that their lives and the lives of those around them were being decided by an outdated god who just couldn't find the decency to stay buried where the world had left him behind::
I refuse to believe that. There has to be another answer to fix the damage than just wreaking more. What good could possibly come from the loss of so much life?

From death there is rebirth, it has always been that way. Until the intelligent animal changed all that. It has created its own perverted nature to which it clings to like brazen god. It's cities stretching far, covering the soil with fake stone and buildings rising high, blocking the sun. Nature can no longer stand this blight upon it.
::The creature approaches the group, with each step, their bodies feel as if a great weight is upon them.::
Doesn't the intelligent animal kill the lesser ones when their populations cannot be supported by their environment, out of mercy to the poor beasts?

::Iole's fear gives way to fiery anger as The King continues refferring to people's lives as things to be stamped out for the greater good::
People or animals, it makes no difference. Every life has weight and purpose. It's not for anyone, not even a god to destroy at will!
::She drops to all fours and charges forward, not even changing shape, save for a pair of claws and a set of fangs that she bares as she leaps for The King::

::Iole's brash attack leads her to utter defeat. Her leaps on the King ends with her on the ground, bites and claws marks over her body. Shes a mess, her mauling turning around on her.::
Iole!
::From Oliver's perspective, all he can see of Iole's attack is her assaulting herself with her own claws and teeth. Eating and tearing at her own body as if it was some foreign attacker. He runs to her side as she falls in pain and wounds, her blood coating Oliver's small hands.::
Iole!? Wat is goin on?! S'op it! S'op!
::He holds her tightly, close to him, trying to comfort her::
::The King shakes his head, pitying the poor beast.::
Perhaps I jumped to conclusion, you are still ignorant animals... to rid me of your presence is to rid yourself. I am part of you, just as the bacteria in your bodies and on your skin is part of you. To rid it causes greater harm.

::Iole's whole body burns and her eyes are streaming. She can't move without her wounds screaming in protest. She just cries as Oliver's arms small arms try to pull her out of her frenzy. Her claws and fangs retract as she writhes in his grasp::
Owe! It hurts!
::She inhales sharp gasping breaths as the pain makes her want to empty her stomach and die::

(OOC - Ugh... finally done with the paper...)
Dante and Eva runs towards Iole to assets her wounds. As Eva goes into healing Iole, Dante grinds his teeth and wants to ready his blade... but seeing through an assumption that it would be pointless as it mentions it being in them like a disease, he tries to hold back...
"You think you can wiped out everyone to restore this balance you, yourself, see unequal? Have you ever pondered that maybe you, yourself, is just as the same factor to the cause of extreme imbalance of this world just as everyone else just with different reasons such as being very unreasonable at the moment... hence we 'intelligent beings' are being ignorant because of your extreme method and measure of wiping out everyone?"

::Eva continued to heal Iole though she doesn't even bother looking at the King for the time being::
"You keep talking about balance this, balance that.....has it ever occured to you that in its own way the world itself is already balanced...."
::She glared at the beast though granted she's sure its not even bothered by it::
"Even if you did rid the world of its "chaos" if you will, even if its balanced by your own twisted logic there will ALWAYS be something to unbalance it again. Let the world fix itself if it needs to be fixed there's nothing anyone can do to change that. Even by a so called "god"."
::She made sure Iole's stopped bleeding and casted a regen spell on her to make sure all the other wounds she missed were healed before she stood up::
"The world has its own will. No one has that right to change it. Period. You want to try and go for a xenocide? Fine, just try it. But I guaranteed you that it will not be as easy as you may possibly think....."

You fail to realize how important this is, since you destroyed the one chance there was to avoid this, it now has been left to this option. Without, your kind will consume itself, drown itself, and die miserably in its own excrement while starving, clawing at the dirt to fill your miserable bellies. Yet, you believe that this is the end? Many will survive and grow stronger, just as the plagues of the past have done to your kind before.
::The creature moves closer to Oliver, its gnarled claws pointing down to Oliver.::
The blood of Simon for instance, he will survive and when the bodies are clear and burned away, he'll no longer suffer in the filth created and squallier generated by the masses. Surely that cannot be a good thing?
::He turns to Eva then, those topaz eyes staring her down, like an angry master to a cur.:::
It's the way of what I am, my purpose, created by nature to consume those who stray too far. It's not my decision to do this, I'd prefer not too for it is a great strain, but it must be done. Your kind has called me before in order to beg and plead for this to not happen but it must, there truly is no other way.

*Kyran grolwed as Locus spoke* [glow=white,2,300]It is not your place to determine who lives and who dies! Anything that uses a human life as a toy is not a god![/glow]
*Jas draws his sword, but it doesn't change, not even into its Excalibur form, his eyes show defiance* "I will not let something like that happen again! This planet has seen what a xenocide has done, and I'll be damned if I let humanity suffer the same fate my kind has!" *His hand tightens on Kyran's fur as she hunches back, ready to pounce*

::Lillith once again relies on her brain to try and find a way to piece the puzzle together, but there is no logic in this. How do you negotiate with a god? She doesn't understand any of this::
Maybe we don't understand because we're not meant to. This is a higher power. But there has to be a way... Gwen said it herself. The traits of heroes; those who have been embroiled in the ongoing battle of good and evil over and over are beyond that of the norm. Maybe the same applies to our own personal disturbance of the balance. Maybe a trade for one of our lives could save others. I haven't been a hero as long as the others, but maybe I could at least...
::She couldn't ask this of the others, so she doesn't voice her idea out loud, but she knows that with The King she doesn't need to. She steps forward, abandoning her weapon::
If I gave you my life, would it spare at least the lives of those in my school?

www.youtube.com/watch?v=UuofG8a7EEk&feature=related::Impending death makes Lillith's head race in a hundred different directions at once. What will happen to Oliver? Eva could take care of him the same way she watches out for Iole. What will happen to Kenny, the man she promised to marry? Dreams of a future that might have been fly through her mind, mocking her in her last moments; a long and healthy life with Kenny, and the son she had always dreamed the two of them would one day have together. Then her mind bitterly returns to Gwen who is probably at this moment still lurking somewhere on the ship. She may be vindictive and spiteful, but she at least truly loved Kenny. Maybe Gwen could fill the void when she was gone. She can't have regrets now. She's already made up her mind:: Then I; Lillith Domani, the Witch of Storms offer my life for the sake of the balance.

The decision has been made and the burning has begun, just as it will for the rest of you and your kind in time, say for those that will be spared.
::The creature turns away again, to gaze out the window.::
The pestilence has begun its emergence, driving itself out of those dark recesses of the world. Driven by the winds, it will cover all, surrounding and choking out the intelligent animals just as it had done in millennia past.
