::Echidna frowns and begins doodling again::
Echidna: How is little Kenny? He always did like Lilly best. We all did of course. Even Nyx, even though Nyx never said so. Gwen hated Lilly though. But Gwen hates everything. Gwen even hates Gwen.
::Lillith sees that she's avoiding the question::
Kenny's fine. He visits the house whenever he can. You can see him if you want.
Echidna: Kenny never liked me. Kenny was always afraid. Kenny always ran to Lady and hid and cried. Kenny's just a little boy. Let little boys be little boys, run and play with their little toys. Given candy when they're good, not--
Rena, you want to leave this place, don't you?
::Echidna's face falls::
Echidna: I can't. The caged bird must sing. And sing I will. And sing, and sing, and sing, and sing sing sing.
Why do you sing Rena?
::Echidna points to the robed creature in her picture who tears a little girl apart with its bare hands::
Echidna: I sing for him. I sing of him. I cannot leave until my god is heard.
::Lillith tries to take the notebook away::
Rena, this is not your god. This is just you. You, and your anger at Iole.
::At that name, Echidna snaps, thrusting the book into Lillith's face as though to make her see something that isn't there. When Lillith tries to push it away, Echidna hurls it across the room and grabs the other woman by the wrists::
Echidna: He'll make her cry for me! He'll make her die for me! So I'll sing for him! I'll cry for him! I'll die for him! I hate her! I hate you! I hate everyone! I hate everything!
::Lillith can feel the blood being cut off from her hands. Feeling that she has no other option, she creates a current over her skin. The electrical shock throws Echidna off of her to land back in her chair which slides a whole foot backwards. Echidna puts her head in her hands when she has control of her body's nerves again::
Echidna: I'm sorry Lilly. Sweet little Lilly. I could never hate Lilly. Sweet, pretty, kind, soft baby Lilly. Lilly likes me. Lilly cares. But Lilly might be hurt. If I sing, Lilly might be hurt. Would Lilly be hurt if I sing? Sweet Lilly?
::She's silent for a moment, and to Lillith it appears as though she's deep in thought at first. But then she nods and it becomes clear that she's not thinking. She's listening.::
Echidna: Then I'll sing. The formless dies, and Lilly survives if I sing. You see Lilly? I have to sing. I must sing. I must The caged bird must sing.
::Seeing no further point, Lillith rises to leave. She spares one last pitying glance at the broken creature in the chair and exits the cell::
