Vincent takes another sip from his glass and continues. "A series of wars erupted, one after the other. First one involved a tyrant, Cyrus. The 'hero's' of this world banded together and defeated Cyrus, at the cost of Vector being nearly leveled. After him, there came a series of others just like him, just different forms. Nae'bils... Loci himself, Pathos, Kayotic... the list goes on. And always the final battles took place in and around Vector. We just had all the luck." Vincent sighs, taking another bite to eat. "Everytime we rebuilt, another war broke out and the city was leveled again. Then one day, the gods themselves went to war. Our friend, Loci, was at the heart of it. Him and this other creature, even more powerful then Loci. Some type of angel killer. After a few months and constant battles, the region we lived in was so decimated with magical radiation that the very bonds of reality were falling apart. Those of us that fled, ended up vagabonds... those that didn't." He takes another sip of the sherry, finishing his glass. "Well I'm sure they no longer exsist in any sense of the word." He sets his glass down hard on the table. "Legends get sketchy from there, the angels lost and were stripped of their abilities... and for once, the world was quiet. Me and my crew here banded together about four years ago and we've been earning a living in the skies every sense. Stateless and penniless, we etched out a living the best way how."
The entire crew look disheartened, the room is flooded with mixed emotions. The looks on their faces show a lifetime of hardaches, scars, and memories.
Vincent sits back in his chair, making himself more comfortable. "Now, what about you? How do you relate to Loci?"

I barely know him, but to be quite frank, he's my sworn enemy. He's been after me for awhile now. He needed an ability of mine to carry out the latest in (from what I hear) a string of plans for world domination, ultimate destruction etc. He kidnapped me, and took me to The Deep Sea Research Facility to absorb it. And he did. He absorbed it into Zhadaska's heart, and ate it.
::The corners of her mouth twitch into a smile as she continues::
Well... part of it. I took the heart, and escaped. He took it back of course. But I was able to absorb some of it back out of the heart. Whatever he can do with it now, he'll find, is very limited. Nowhere near enough to carry out his plan. But I need to find someone to store the extra energy in, so Loci can't get it again. And I think I know just the girl. A girl that I was observing a while back. Possibly another Angel. That's where I'm headed, if you would be so kind, Captain. I assume you don't want Loci to have that kind of power anymore than I do.

Vincent and the rest of the crew look at her quite stunned. "You... Loci... power?" Vincent says, dumbfounded. "Nevermind, I can garuntee you that all you did was delay him, if he's plotting something, this does not bode well for the rest of the world. Also there are no more angels in this world, as the legends go, the Celestials have forsaken us and our heros. Stripped us of our 'protectors', we're left to our own devices."
"Captain, we need to finish our rounds." Nivzad says, cutting into Vincent's conversation. "Sorry to cut out like this." Vincent nods. "Understood, Tresk, take us into those islands we saw earlier. We'll set her down there for the night." Tresk nods. "Aye aye captain. The others make a murmor as they get up from the table. Miguel is the only one who stays behind, cleaning up the plates. His new toy resting neatly in his collar, Natalia may notice that it is the same stuffed animal Loci had been petting earlier, however it would appear that Miguel has taken a certain liking to it. Why, only the heveans know.
"Natalia." Vincent says. "I have to make some last minute checks. If you'll join me in my stateroom in half an hour, we can discuss where you need to go. I also have a few other questions." After he speaks, Vincent stands and leaves the galley.

::Natalia rises from her seat::
Agreed Captain.
::She returns to her quarters. She can't help but smile at the irony of the situation. Here, she had thought Infinity, the "gallant hero" would be a great asset in her fight against Loci. Instead, he had betrayed her, and practically gift-wrapped the world to Loci. Now she found that her greatest allies were a crew of Sky-Pirates. Pirates whose ship she had boarded and nearly destroyed no less. This was getting very interesting::

Vincent returns to his stateroom, taking off his coat and gloves, tossing them over a chair near his bed. The room itself is decorated with numerous paintings of Vector and its outlying regions. An eleborate glass cabinate, adorned with etchings of the same royal crest as the decanter, inside it are various unusal artifacts, pursumably from Vector. There's also a bookself with what would appear to be hundreds of volumes, some look to be worse for wear, burnt and damaged.
Vincent sits down at his desk, rubbing his eyes. "When is it ever an easy day?"

Hmm. I never would have picked you for a history lover. YOu're just full of surprises.
::The look of surprise on Vincent's face from her entrance is priceless. It was as if she had been standing there the whole time. She begins browsing through the books::
So few are left that understand the value of our history, and legends. It must have taken years to accumulate such a vast collection.

"You know it is customary to knock before entering a captain's quarters?" Vincent exclaims, slightly annoyed at the unauthorized entry. "And you would think that? Actually, most of those were saved from Vector before its final fall. There's a few other random books in there, liberated from other vessels and the like. Infact I have Loci's autobiography." He stands up, walking over to the bookshelf. He pulls down a fairly thick hardbound book. The title of it is How I did it Better Then the Rest. And as plain as day, the name of the author is 'Loci'. "He wrote it several years back when he tried to rewrite history." He tosses it down on a table. "I still wonder how he got it published. Narcissistic bastard."
Vincent walks over to a cabinet and opens it up, pulling out two rocks glasses. "May I offer you a drink? I have a decent Merlot or if you're feeling traditional, bumbo."

::Natalia waves the drink away::
No thank you. I actually came because I had an idea. After I'm done with the girl I told you about. I'm not sure you're going to like it.
::Natalia takes a seat on Vincent's desk. She appears to be in one of those moods where she acts more like a teenage girl with a bit of gossip, rather than a timeless sorceress with a sinister plan::
I'm planning...
::Her lips curve into a twisted smile::
To launch a war against Loci.

Vincent raises a brow to Natalia's comment as he finishes pouring a glass full of merlot. "You and what army?" He asks, turning around and taking a seat at his desk's chair while crossing his legs, glass in hand. "Beside, all you'd probably do is end up creating another world war and displacing more people like me and my crew." He takes a sip from the glass. "That's the last thing we need."

::Natalia leans back casually::
What do you purpose we do? Sit back and let him create his billions upon billions of hosts. We can't just let him do as he pleases. In my opinion, the inhabitants of your world have let him get away with too much for too long.

Vincent shakes his head disapprovingly. "Honestly, there really is nothing any of us can really do. He has a nasty habit of surviving everything that's thrown at him and if it gets too hot, he flees." He takes another sip from his glass. "Besides, who's left that can oppose him? Thank the gods he prefers to play with people instead of out right killing them. I mean if you know what can defeat a virus like him, then please do tell. I know many have tried but there hasn't been any ideas that work out in the end."

Interesting you should ask. I've already hand picked two candidates. One is the girl I told you about. Despite what the legends say, I believe she may actually be the real deal. And what a better way to fight a Fallen Angel, then with another Angel. The second, is my current apprentice. Rainii Loire. Her powers as a sorceress can surpass even my own. If you could just feel what I felt, just by being in the same room with her.
::Her eyes seem to be gazing far off::
Ecstasy. Pure Ecstasy.

"Two?" Vincent questions. "Two against a creature like Loci? That's madness. I don't care if one of them may actually be an Angel... hell he even killed an Angel once before." Vincent stops and thinks for a moment. "What type of angel we talking about? There already exsists: Light, Dark, Life, Death, War, and Pestilence... though only Pestilence, Loci, is still rearing his ugly head. Who have you found?" Vincent finishes his glass. "We need Life back, he was the only one who could truly keep Loci in check. Pity he's rumored to no longer exist." He quickly stands up and throws his hands up in disgust. "What am I saying, it doesn't even matter anymore. There are no more Angels, there can't be. All of them have been stripped of their rank and no new angel could exsist unless it sluffed off its rank onto someone else, but that too is impossible now."
He walks over to his window, the ocean is outside, the moonlight reflecting off the waters surface. "Sorceress... Angel... it doesn't matter unless someone can figure out his one true weakness. You're really talking to the wrong person about this, even if I was in a position to do something, all I know are the legends and stories and those few things I saw first hand. You need to find someone who knows Loci, knows him well. I'm not even sure someone like that exsists."

::Natalia frowns::
You know, I once knew a boy who didn't give up so easily. A boy who was willing to try, even the insane if it meant even the slightest possibility of winning. Nothing could make him give up. I believe he's the one person who ever came close to bringing me out of the darkness. Someone who can do that was sure to know something about what to do about Loci. So let me ask you this Captain. How well did Crohan know the Fallen Angel.

Vincent thinks for a moment. "Crohan... the name sounds familiar. Honestly, from what I can recall reading, Crohan and Loci never engaged on the battlefield in any significant form." Vincent walks over to his liquor cabinet, taking down the bottle of bumbo. He crudely takes a quick swig from the bottle before putting it back. "Crohan though, what I know, would be a valuable assist to any sort of engagement with Loci. But if you want to engage in all out war, you'll need every 'hero' you can find." He sighs. "Something of that scale today would seem improbable... but not impossible."

::Natalia throws back her head and laughs. Even in her pirate clothing, she carries an air of mystery. Almost sinister::
You'll find that with me, the odds are never in my favor. But I always win. I'll start with the girl. Then, I need to get some answers from an old friend. And I can only think of one place that trancends time, to speak with the dead.
::If possible, her pearly white grin grows even wider::
And that would be Ultimicea's Castle.

"Ultimicea's Castle?" Vincent ponders. "Haven't heard that in a long while. Isn't it near this location?" He asks. "Is that where you wish to be taken?"

That sounds perfect.
::Natalia snaps her fingers, and she is back in her usual black clothes::
But I do have one more question. If I manage to start this war, will you and your crew join me? We'll need as many 'heroes' as we can gather. And I believe you're about as heroic as they come.

Vincent is quiet for a moment, contemplating the course of events that have yet to come. "I have always wondered if I would be able to revive the memory of Vector, see the ghosts of those who died reach out and have their revenge." He looks over to the right, out the window. "Yes, I don't think there is one amoungst my crew who would not wish to see Loci destroyed."

A Gathering of Heroes. I like the sound of that.
::She vanishes like a shadow when the lights turn on. Her laughter seems to echo even after she's gone::
(To Ultimicea's Castle?)
