Kerion: I don't have any flare guns on me. But I can try my Punisher.
::He puts in a purple round into the gun cannon before aiming up to the sky::
Kerion: Hope they see this.
::He pulls the trigger.::
Click.
Kerion: Huh?
Click. Click. Click.
Kerion: What the? My gun was working fine earlier.
::He tries another round, a red one::
Click. Click. Click.
Kerion: Now I'm getting angry. First my ship, then my PHS, now my Punisher. Jas, see if you can cast any magic.
::Jas nods before raising one hand to the sky. But nothing happens.::
"Should of known. Attack magic isn't going to work. These things must have something to do with our inability to use anything related to magic and technology."

"Whistling for help ain't gonna help from here," said Ren casually. Everyone knew very well he was incapable of magic. He had nothing up his sleeves to lighten their predicament. "No magic. No tech. Nothing but us in this empty town. Well, we should just go ahead. If I get my pay, I'll split it among the three of us. How does that sound?"
He quickly stepped beside Kerion and nudged the irritated man playfully on his shoulder. "Maybe with the money we get, we could buy some flashy heavy artillery for your ship!"

"What good is it going to do Ren if I still got this bounty on my head? Besides, I still got plenty from my savings from the bounties I collected so I won't need your reward. No offense though."
::He looks at one of the bones::
"Reminds me of him."
Jas: Who?
"A dangerous Burmecian named Jeack. He was once a fellow bounty hunter. I don't know what happened to him, but he went homicidal. Killed a total of twenty people that we know of before I caught him."
Jas: He must of did something to get your interest.
"I didn't know at the time. We worked together to solve those murders. That was until I found the guy he supposedly caught had an alibi for the last victim. It wasn't until victim twenty that I found the link between the victims, him. He then kidnapped Maria, telling me not to try anything or he'll kill her. Little did he know, I still had my time magic."
Jas: What happened after that?
"I made sure he would never harm another living being by taking his hands. Luckily he lived to stand trial and get his sentence."
Jas: Life without parole?
::Kerion shakes his head:: "The electric chair."

((Sorry, delay again, adjusting to my new work.)) Event: Kerion fails to end two posts with even number of words - 2 anomalies will be struck. Ren's playful jabs weren't so playful when the shifting it caused forced Kerion to forget his footing as they were slowly transversing the minefield of spacial disruptions. Kerion takes a few more steps after the jabs and slips as a the cobblestone under him shifts from his weight, he stumbles and connected with an anomaly. Kerion is sucked in and time compressed, like a strong gravity spell, then spit back out only to be launched towards another disruption. This one explodes with a torrent of fire, igniting his clothes with the power of a Fira spell. He tumbles and rolls along the ground, landing in a relatively safe spot just outside the field. Kerion is injured, badly, but alive. These are unavoidable - Kerion will not be able to move very well until healed. Jas and Ren, however, pass through the field unharmed. The three will find themselves now deeper inside the ghost city. A market it appears, least it once was. Empty rotten wooden stalls line the tiny square with signs that hawked produce and essentials for everyday life. What no stand claimed to sell were these unusual statues of screaming and frightened people, they appeared to be wearing heavy protective clothes and sported a variety of weapons and all appeared to have suddenly been turned to stone instantaneously. This place was home to a Zone Basilisk. Corrupted by pestilence and magic radiation, this once already dangerous fiend has been made even more frightening. Hardier, stronger and sporting multiple heads, these creatures can petrify an entire group of people quickly. A rumble comes from some wooden stalls, they suddenly explode beside the group as the Basilisk jumps out to protect it's territory. Pity, you cannot actually look at the creature to see what exactly it is what you are facing, but trust that it is quite ugly. Keep adverting your eyes. Event: Combined total of 500+ words from any number of posts to defeat the Basilisk. Any reference to directly looking at the creature will cause you to be turned to stone after 1 post. It is considered that you adverted your eyes the moment it emerged - the creature will attempt to make you look at it. Good luck. Saturday Music: www.youtube.com/watch?v=K3eNJMao9Fc

::Before the creature struck.::
::Jas was casting Curaga on Kerion who didn't make it through the anomalies unscathed. But he felt something enter his pocket. He looked and saw no one. Reaching in, he felt paper and when pulled it out, it looked like a note written in some kind of red ink, dripping like blood.::
Be wary in Burmecia. Forget the phrase 'look before you leap', otherwise you'll add to the scenery. A friend.

::Though most of his wounds were healed, Kerion still felt sluggish from the pain. Before he had a chance to ask about the note, the stall close to them exploded. As he was going to stand up, he heard something that his blood freeze. Though it was different, he knew what it was. He couldn't risk talking to warn Jas & Ren, lest he wants the beast to know someone is around because if it had seen them, they would of heard about it by now.::

::Jas was about to see what struck, but the sound made him think twice. Whoever sent that warning knew of the creature. Knowing sound would give them away, he choose to keep quite as he drew his bade. From the sound, this basilisk had multiple heads, not one like it normally would. He knew he had one shot at this as his blade glowed before becoming a pair of rock-like gauntlets. Looking to Ren with a look that said 'stay here and don't make any noise. He closes his eyes and steps out from his and Ren's hiding spot.::
Kerion, if you can hear me, toss a stone.
::Hears a stone being tossed and the creature roaring to the spot.::
Good, I have a plan. Lure it to you by firing one of your hand guns. I'll handle the rest.
::After a second, the sound of a gun firing is heard. As the monster got close to where Kerion was hiding, Jas quickly drove one of his fists into the ground, causing it to quake before earth spires appear under the creature::
